Chapter 1278

"Trap card 'Virtual World', allows me to activate a Field Spell from my deck!"

Thousand-Honor Clone said coldly: "Activate whatever you want, but this strike will decide the outcome, any field is meaningless!"

"That's not necessarily true."

Fujiki You Xuan smiled again, having already drawn a Field Card that popped out from the deck.

"The field I want to activate from the deck is this one, Field Spell 'Chicken Game'!"

With a rumbling sound, the holographic projection obscured the original field of the battle, and even the extremely dazzling radiance of the perpetual motion machine dissipated. Replacing it were towering rocks and dangerous cliffs. On both sides of the battle, a ghost tank and an armored vehicle stood facing each other from afar, their engines emitting low roars from time to time, like two beasts meeting on a narrow road, roaring in a show of force.

This field was designed based on the "Chicken Game" model, where both sides meet on a narrow road and refuse to give way, and the side that chooses to retreat first is the "chicken" in the game.

"As long as the Field Spell 'Chicken Game' exists on the field, all battle and effect damage received by the duelist with lower LP on both sides becomes 0!"

Protected by the field, the sure-kill strike of the Chaos Puppet Master with 10,000 attack power was blocked as if by the natural barrier of cliffs and precipices. The attack couldn't reach Dragonfly at all, and that mighty red tide was dissipated into nothingness.

"Good, in this way, as long as we are in this field, Fujiki You Xuan, who has lower LP, is temporarily invincible!" Crow said.

"Then the Battle Phase ends," Thousand-Honor Clone said calmly, "Then I will also activate the effect of your Field Spell 'Chicken Game'. The effect of this field should be usable by both sides."

Fujiki You Xuan nodded: "Correct. Chicken Game is a field that both sides can use. By paying 1000 LP, you can choose one of three effects to activate."

"Draw a card; have your opponent recover 1000 LP; destroy this card."

At this time, Thousand-Honor Clone had already chosen to pay LP to use the effect.

【Thousand-Honor Clone, LP 4000 → LP 3000】

"I pay 1000 LP to activate the effect of the Field Spell 'Chicken Game'," Thousand-Honor Clone said, "Destroy this field itself!"

As Thousand-Honor Clone's voice fell, the cliffs and precipices had already begun to collapse, rocks tumbled down with a clatter, and soon disappeared in the rising dust.

"Set one card face-down, turn ends," Thousand-Honor Clone said, "In this way, the invincible field protecting you has disappeared, and I will definitely be able to finish you off next turn."

"Next turn, huh... is that so? But your next turn might be dangerous," Fujiki You Xuan smiled.

Thousand-Honor Clone: "What?"

"Nothing... My turn, draw card!" Fujiki You Xuan said, "Activate Spell card 'Graceful Charity'. Draw three cards from the deck, then discard two cards from my hand."

Fujiki You Xuan drew cards, then discarded two cards from his hand.

"Activate Field Spell 'Light-Insect Base'!"

The field changed again, the radiance of the perpetual motion machine was obscured and disappeared, and both sides stood on a modified base like a factory workshop.

"In this field, I can directly add Xyz Materials to Insect-Type Xyz Monsters on the field from my hand... this effect is not needed for now," Fujiki You Xuan said, "However, in this field, the attack power of my Insect-Type monsters all increases by 300."

"Next, activate the effect of 'Inzektor Dragonfly'!" Fujiki You Xuan continued, "Once per turn, I can equip an 'Inzektor' monster from my hand or Graveyard to itself!"

Thousand-Honor Clone said: "But there should be no 'Inzektor Hornet' left in your Graveyard."

He had also seen that Hornet was the most important equipment in the opponent's deck, the universal ammunition for destroying cards. But he had already removed this biggest threat with "D. D. Crow" earlier.

"That's true, but this time what I want to equip from the Graveyard is 'Inzektor Giga-Cricket'!" Fujiki You Xuan said, "The monster equipped with this card has its original attack power become 2000."

"Of course, because Dragonfly also has the Equip Spell 'Megamorph' enhancement, its original attack power doubles!"

【Inzektor Dragonfly, ATK 2000 → ATK 4000】

Thousand-Honor Clone frowned: "Deliberately lowered Dragonfly's attack power?"

Before this, Dragonfly's attack power was originally 4800, so this operation actually made it weaker.

Of course, whether it's 4800 or 4000, it's far from being an opponent for the Chaos Puppet Master, which has already become 10,000 attack power. "And with the blessing of the Field Spell, the attack power of Insect-Type monsters increases by another 300 points."

【Inzektor Dragonfly, ATK 4000 → ATK 4300】

"Don't be in a hurry," Fujiki You Xuan smiled, "I will then banish 'AD Changer' from the Graveyard to forcibly change the battle position of a monster on the field."

"Therefore, I want to change 'CNO. 43 Soul Puppet Ghost God - Chaos Puppet Master' to Defense Position!"

Thousand-Honor Clone: "!"

Only at this moment did he suddenly understand the opponent's intention and also know the strategy the opponent had found.

【CNO. 43 Soul Puppet Ghost God - Chaos Puppet Master, ATK 11100 → DEF 0】

"Oh right!" Crow said happily, "Even if the attack power is increased ridiculously high, this guy's defense power is always only 0!"

Akiza smiled: "Then if I'm not mistaken, this new insect equipment equipped to Dragonfly just now, its equipment ability is probably..."

Completely as Akiza expected, Fujiki You Xuan immediately continued to explain: "When a monster equipped with 'Inzektor Giga-Cricket' attacks a Defense Position monster, if its attack power exceeds that defense power, it can inflict piercing damage to the opponent equal to the excess value!"

4000 attack power, a piercing strike against 0 defense power.

This was the sure-kill method Fujiki You Xuan found against the CNO. that had over 10,000 attack power and could not be destroyed!

"Battle!" Fujiki You Xuan said, "Inzektor Dragonfly, attack 'CNO. 43 Soul Puppet Ghost God - Chaos Puppet Master'!"

At this time, the armament on Dragonfly's hand had changed from a blade to a drill. The moment the spinning electric drill stabbed out, it carried a transparent cyclone, hitting the scarlet Puppet Master head-on. After piercing through its chest, the cyclone continued its momentum toward Thousand-Honor Clone's main body!

Crow: "Got him!"

Boom—

A violent explosion, as if tyrannical energy leaked from the huge body of that ferocious puppet, swallowed Thousand-Honor Clone into it.

However...

The smoke cleared. Surrounded by black smoke, the Old Thousand looked a bit disheveled, but he was still standing stubbornly. The shell of the clone did not fall, nor did it dissipate.

【Thousand-Honor Clone, LP 1】

"Impossible!" Jack said in surprise, "LP... one?"

Crow: "You guy, you cheated, right? That strike just now should have definitely defeated him..."

"Because I activated the Trap card 'Evil Power 1'!" Thousand-Honor Clone said, "It can be activated when damage calculation is performed for a battle between a monster on my field and an opponent's monster. The monster will not be destroyed by that battle."

"After that, no matter how much battle damage this battle causes, my LP will definitely remain at 1!" (Original card)

Crow was shocked: "Such an inexplicable trap?"

"No, it's not inexplicable. I'm afraid this is a card specifically used in combination with 'Thousand-Honor Throne'," Yusei said.

Crow realized: "Oh, right."

If Thousand-Honor Throne and Soul Puppet Master were both still on the field, if the opponent dealt 4000 damage in one breath, then this trap could force his LP to remain at 1. At the end of the turn, the Throne would recover LP and could also reflect 3999 points of damage back to the opponent, achieving maximum profit.

It was indeed a very suitable trap for the Old Thousand's deck.

"Damn it, but seeing 1 LP left is so frustrating!" Crow said, "1 LP, just 1 LP, such a candle-in-the-wind amount of LP, it was really just that little bit short..."

But completely contrary to their annoyance.

Seeing the 1 LP that the Old Thousand survived with, Fujiki You Xuan on this side actually... smiled?
