Chapter 1476

"Dark Magician! Apprentice Illusion Magician!"

Two monster cards were slapped onto Dark Yugi's Duel Disk, though at first glance one might think they were twins.

The identical summoning circle, the identical emerald staff, and even the robes transformed from the surging dark magic power seemed to be exactly the same.

But after the magic power finally condensed and took shape, the Dark Magician was a handsome mage with a cold face, while the face under the Apprentice Illusion Magician's hat looked like just a mass of pitch black, as if there was nothing, yet it clearly revealed a pair of sharp eyes, and the gaze seemed to be able to pierce through the human heart.

【Dark Magician, ATK 2500】

【Apprentice Illusion Magician, ATK 2100】

"Did they appear, the trump card of the first Duel King." Yuya mocked and laughed, "Very good, then what are you going to do with this vanilla monster with only 2500 ATK?"

"Just like this." Dark Yugi snapped his fingers crisply, "The true power hidden in the Continuous Magic 'Dark Magical Circle' also activates the moment the Dark Magician descends!"

Yuya frowned: "True power?"

"That's right! Dark Magical Circle is: when a Dark Magician is summoned or Special Summoned to your field, you can choose any one card on the opponent's field and banish that card from the game!"

Only then did Yuya restrain his mocking smile: "So that's it. Although it's a vanilla monster itself, its ability can be released with the help of Magic Cards... is that what you mean?"

"Exactly, Dark Magician is a top-tier magician, skilled at mastering various types of advanced spells." Dark Yugi said, "Banish 'Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon' from the game!"

The ancient magic circle began to rotate, magic power flowed on the Dark Magician's staff, and dark magic fluctuations gathered toward Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon from all directions, accompanied by abnormal fluctuations in space.

"So that's it, you already know the concept of 'Pendulum Summoning', so you also know the characteristics of Pendulum monsters, huh?" Yuya said indifferently.

"Exactly." Dark Yugi nodded, "No matter how Pendulum monsters are destroyed, as long as they are sent to the Graveyard, they are not sent to the Graveyard but are placed in the Extra Deck face-up. In a sense, Pendulum monsters are like having an immortal body."

This is the basic rule of Pendulum. Pendulum monsters can go to the Extra Deck when sent to the Graveyard, and then as long as you have Pendulum Scales on your field, they can be revived from the Extra Deck to the field every turn, just like having a revival armor every turn.

But if they are banished from the game, Pendulum monsters cannot be revived at will.

"Heh, not only did you understand Pendulum Summoning beforehand but you also made countermeasures, worthy of being a Duel King." Yuya laughed loudly, "But! It's a pity, this level of countermeasures is useless against me!

Activate set card, Trap Card 'Sacrificial Altar'!"

Yuya's back-row set card flipped over, and a dark red energy wrapped Odd-Eyes before the Dark Magic fluctuation could completely shroud it. Odd-Eyes seemed to be swallowed by that mass of red light, and was soon eaten away and disappeared from the field.

"Sacrificial Altar can send a monster on your field to the Graveyard, and then you recover Life Points equal to that monster's original ATK." Yuya said.

【Yuya, LP 4000 → LP 6500】

"To think you'd sacrifice your own monster with your own hand..." Dark Yugi said, "So that's it, you sent Odd-Eyes to the Graveyard before Dark Magical Circle took effect, to avoid the banishing effect?"

"Hahaha, exactly! And when Pendulum monsters are sent to the Graveyard, they don't go to the Graveyard, but return to the Extra Deck!" Yuya was very proud, arrogantly displaying Odd-Eyes before stuffing it into the Extra Deck slot that automatically popped open on the Duel Disk, "Therefore, Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon returns to the Extra Deck!"

"In this way, Odd-Eyes can still be revived via Pendulum Scales next turn... but at least it was defeated this turn."

Dark Yugi waved his hand again.

"I then Overlay the Level 7 'Dark Magician' and Level 7 'Apprentice Illusion Magician' on the field! Xyz Summon! Rank 7—Ebon Illusion Magician!"

The two magicians transformed into two streams of pitch-black magic and shot into the sky, then slammed heavily into the overlay network. The overlay network that erupted with colorful light transformed into a pitch-black rotating magic circle. After the two merged into one, a new magician flew out from it. The gorgeous robe without a face was full of gilded patterns, and the golden magic circle rotated behind it like a clock.

【Ebon Illusion Magician, ATK 2500】

"Xyz of Dark Magician, huh." Yuya snorted, "It seems the old antique has also learned to 'keep pace with the times'."

"There is no limit to the evolution of Dark Magician, and neither is there for me." Dark Yugi smiled, "What about you, can you keep up with us?"

Yuya laughed loudly: "Joke! Good, then I want to see what use an old antique's Xyz has."

"Activate the effect of Ebon Illusion Magician." Dark Yugi said, "Once per turn, remove one Xyz Material, you can Special Summon a Spellcaster-type Normal Monster from your hand or deck!

I remove one Xyz Material, Special Summon 'Dark Magician' from the deck!"

Ebon Illusion Magician raised the staff in its hand, and a circling material was absorbed into the staff. After landing, a new magic circle bloomed, and the handsome black-robed mage descended again.

【Dark Magician, ATK 2500】

Originally, there was of course only one Dark Magician in Yugi's deck. However, the reserves of various cards in Fujiki You Xuan's dimension were rich, and in order to maximize the strength of Yugi's new Dark Magician deck, Fujiki You Xuan naturally equipped him with two other new Dark Magicians.

"Battle." Dark Yugi said, "First is Dark Magician, attack 'Performapal Kobold'!"

Dark Magician's staff spun, dark magic gathered at the tip of the staff, and the surging energy and mental power intertwined into a giant sphere of magic power and blasted out.

"But at this moment, the effect of Ebon Illusion Magician also activates!" Dark Yugi said, "Another effect of Ebon Illusion Magician: when a Spellcaster-type Normal Monster declares an attack, you can target any one card on the opponent's field, and banish that card from the game.

Banish Performapal Kobold from the game!"

Ebon Illusion Magician pointed its staff, and magic fluctuations that twisted space struck out. Kobold was immediately twisted under the shroud of that magic power and disappeared into the rift of the dimension.

"Banishment again..." Yuya frowned.

Continuous banishment, both of his Pendulum monsters on the field suffered ruthless execution. Although Pendulum Dragon saved itself by self-destructing, in this way, Kobold couldn't be revived by Pendulum next turn.

"Battle rewind, Dark Magician direct attack!" Dark Yugi said.

【Yuya, LP 6500 → LP 4000】

"Then there is Ebon Illusion Magician." Dark Yugi continued, "Direct attack!"

Dark magic swirled in the staff held up by the Magician, and after gathering, it actually condensed into a small golden sphere of magic power and blasted out, exploding right in Yuya's face.
