Chapter 154

Archlord Zerato, effect activate!

It must be said that this combination was still quite powerful on the field. Just before the Archlord cleared the field, he chained "Judgment of the Scales", and before clearing the field, he used Fujiki You Xuan's field to draw a wave of cards, quickly filling his ammunition.

And after drawing the cards, the storm immediately swept across the whole field. The four sheep were shattered one by one, and the face-down monster card also shattered, briefly revealing the image of a sinister and weird red dog-like creature, but its body was soon pierced and shattered and it left the field.

"The monster you destroyed is 'Dark-Piercing Beast'." Fujiki You Xuan said. "When this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard, add a Level 8 Demon-type monster from my deck to my hand."

A friendly gift from the kind-hearted spirit Masked Sorcerer he encountered on his first trip to the Spirit World.

President Shimizu frowned.

Level 8 Demon-type? What is that thing...

"I add the Level 8 Demon-type from my deck..."

Fujiki You Xuan revealed the card searched from the deck.

"'Lava Golem' added to my hand."

President Shimizu: "Nani!?"

Back then, when Hoshika Kohinata was tortured to death by this 8-star big baby, he happened to be watching, and he laughed very happily at the time, so naturally he had an impression of this card.

Why does your big baby even have a search effect!?

President Shimizu began to sweat.

But he quickly calmed down.

Calm down. Lava Golem needs to tribute two monsters on the opponent's field to jump out. Since that's the case, as long as he maintains only one monster on the field, it will be stuck in his hand and cannot be summoned.

He only had Zerato on the field, so Lava Golem shouldn't be able to appear.

And with this, the opponent's field is cleared, a great opportunity to attack!

"Direct attack from Archlord Zerato!"

President Shimizu ordered, and the Archlord flapped his wings and took off, the sword light slashing straight over.

"Then activate face-down card." Fujiki You Xuan said. "Trap Card - Dimension Wall! The battle damage is taken by the opponent instead!"

For a moment, the space in front of him seemed to twist, and a wall of reflection seemed to appear. The Archlord's sword light sank into it, and along the way, it backlashed along the path on that twisted dimensional barrier!

"A card that reflects attacks!"

President Shimizu was shocked.

The sword aura whistled, but just as it was about to reflect onto him, he saw holy light suddenly released from the temple surrounded by clouds! The holy radiance shrouded him like a shield, blocking the backlashed sword aura.

"The effect of Field Spell 'The Sanctuary in the Sky'." President Shimizu said. "As long as this card exists in the Field zone, the battle damage caused by angels to me is 0.

'Archlord Zerato' is an Angel-type, and the reflection of 'Dimension Wall' is also treated as battle damage, so I will not take damage."

The onlookers, the members, only then breathed a sigh of relief.

Fortunately, as expected of the president, such an insidious method was also blocked.

The president was also their biggest reliance at present. The second-year President Shimizu was also the most capable among all students of the same grade, and it was precisely because of this that their club was able to be preserved until now.

"My turn is over." President Shimizu shouted. "See? This is our burning obsession, this activity room is the sanctuary of spirits for us! No one can take it away!"

No, I just saw you sacrifice a girl and discard another in one turn...

Fujiki You Xuan silently complained in his heart and also reached his turn.

"My turn, draw card." Fujiki You Xuan said. "Then because your Archlord cleared the field last turn, I have no monsters on my field now.

Therefore, activate Spell Card 'Adversity Treasure' from my hand. When the opponent has a Special Summoned monster and I have no monsters on my field, draw two cards." (Original card)

Fujiki You Xuan drew cards from his deck unhurriedly.

President Shimizu squinted his eyes, ready for battle.

The opponent had a Lava Golem he just searched in his hand, but Lava Golem had a big appetite and must eat two monsters to jump out. The current situation shouldn't be a cause for concern...

Fujiki You Xuan: "Activate Spell Card 'Shallow Grave' from my hand. Both players choose one monster from their Graveyard and Special Summon it to the field in Defense Position." (Original effect)

A spell that appeared in the GX anime, which was modified to face-down Defense Position revival for both players after being made into a real card.

President Shimizu's expression twisted instantly: "Nani!?"

He almost vomited blood. No, why are you helping me summon monsters?

The depressed President Shimizu had to silently choose a card from his Graveyard.

"Then I revive 'Demon Tamer'."

【Demon Tamer, DEF 700】

Fujiki You Xuan: "I Special Summon 'Crossbowman' discarded last turn from the Graveyard in Defense Position."

【Crossbowman, DEF 1000】

On the round mechanical head, a huge one-eyed eye stared roundly, with a metal crossbow in front, looking quite terrifying. From the art style, it could be seen that it was one of the monsters used by Marik Ishtar when he was six years old.

President Shimizu had already realized what was going to happen next, but he was powerless and could only watch helplessly as the other party did whatever he wanted with his beloved monsters.

"Tribute 'Archlord Zerato' and the poor Whip Queen Miss on President Shimizu's field! Special Summon this powerful monster on President Shimizu's field!"

Fujiki You Xuan directly revealed the big baby as expected.

"Awakened from the lava of the abyss, the power of destruction and rebirth—

—Level 8, Lava Golem!"

The Archlord and the poor Whip Queen Miss both melted in the lava, and the burning demon soared into the sky. The big baby was covered in white smoke, its eyes hollow, like an iron cage twisted in high temperature, locking President Shimizu inside.

【Lava Golem, DEF 2500】

"Ah, my monster..."

The president clenched his fists, gritted his teeth, and looked up unconsciously, but happened to meet the gaze of the iron-headed guy covered in lava.

As if it were an illusion, he actually felt that the abstract face seemed to be smiling foolishly at him.

A bit like saying hello, and a bit like mocking...

"Then activate Spell Card 'Burial Spell Treasure'." Fujiki You Xuan said. "By banishing three Spell Cards from the Graveyard from play, draw two cards." (Original card)

He showed the three Spell Cards that popped out of the Graveyard.

"I banish 'Shallow Grave', 'Scapegoat', and 'Graceful Charity' from play, draw two cards."

After drawing the cards, his gaze moved slightly.

He couldn't help but reveal a trace of a smile.

As soon as he smiled, the heart of the person opposite him skipped a beat again.

There was a premonition that life and death were unpredictable.

Anyway, it definitely wasn't anything good.

"I can't perform a Normal Summon on the turn I summoned Lava Golem." Fujiki You Xuan shrugged. "Then, I set three cards in the back row, turn end."

Three more face-down cards...

President Shimizu took a deep breath.

Heaven knows what else is waiting for him behind.

But for the sake of the cause they loved, for the survival of the club, even if he knew it was hell, he had to continue moving forward.

"My turn, draw card!"

"At this moment, Lava Golem's effect activates." Fujiki You Xuan said. "Inflict 1000 points of damage to the controller during the Standby Phase."

"Ugh!"

Hot lava fell from the sky, the president was locked in the cage and had nowhere to hide, and was drenched from head to toe by that mass of scalding lava.

【President Shimizu, LP4000 → LP3000】

"Damn it..."

The president gritted his teeth.

"But don't think you can make me surrender so easily..."

"Open face-down card, Continuous Trap - Desert Judgment!" Fujiki You Xuan said. "As long as this card exists on the field, all monsters in face-up Attack Position on both fields cannot change their battle positions."

President Shimizu: "!"

He instinctively looked up at the scalding iron-headed guy above his head, and happened to find that the iron-headed guy was also looking down at him, spreading his hands to show helplessness.

Look, I'm locked by the trap and can't move, you have to rely on yourself.

President Shimizu: "..."

Lava Golem was summoned by Fujiki You Xuan to his field in Defense Position. If it couldn't change its battle position, it couldn't use its noble 3000 ATK to launch an attack, completely becoming a burden that burned him for 1000 HP every turn.

President Shimizu took a deep breath again, reaching out and pressing on his violently heaving chest, trying to calm his emotions.

Calm down, don't get angry.

There's still a chance. His Life Points were still very sufficient, as long as he organized a counterattack before being burned to death...

"Activate face-down card again."

Another face-down card of Fujiki You Xuan's stood up.

"Continuous Trap - Rivalry of Warlords.

As long as this card is on the field, both duelists can control at most one race of monsters, and cannot summon monsters of other races to the field."

President Shimizu was stunned.

Huh?

What the hell?

Can only control one race of monsters, then wouldn't the race on his field only be...

He was confused for a few seconds, then slowly looked up.

As soon as he looked up, he saw Lava Golem looking at him again, and it was pointing at its own silly head very innocently.

As if saying, blame me?

President Shimizu: "..."

Lava Golem is a Demon-type.

Meaning, now he can't summon monsters other than Demon-type to the field.

President Shimizu: "..."

Wouldn't that be broken?

The defensive line of his mentality collapsed instantly, and the calmness the president had tried to maintain until now was thrown to the back of his mind.

No, this silly guy ate my big monster, can't attack, and burns my blood every turn...

He endured all these.

As a result, now he's told that this silly guy also blocked his race limit, and he can't even summon monsters?

How the hell am I supposed to play this!?
