Chapter 689: Darklord

Darklord.

This deck also first appeared in "Yu-Gi-Oh! GX", but it belongs to a manga deck, used by Duel Academy teacher Hibiki Midori in GX.

Although Fujiki You Xuan didn't have much contact with Teacher Hibiki, he knew that she was also a semi-otherworldly person who didn't fight for anything. She didn't have much pursuit of fame and fortune in dueling, and compared to proving herself on the arena, she was more willing to be idle and was satisfied with being a teacher at the Duel Academy.

However, her younger brother, Hibiki Kouyou, was ambitious and embarked on a professional path early on, shining in dueling arenas all over the world, and even took the title of World Champion, once being called the "Number One Hero Deck User".

But the manga later said that although it was Hibiki Kouyou who won the World Champion, in fact, Hibiki Midori, the older sister, was stronger among the siblings. In the sparring between the siblings, Hibiki Kouyou actually lost more and won less, and was not stronger than his sister.

Hibiki Midori's personal strength as a duelist was extraordinary, and the strength of the deck she used was also an important reason. Darklord is a deck with great potential even after being turned into physical cards, and it cannot be underestimated at all.

And now that this deck appeared in the hands of the Evil God, Fujiki You Xuan speculated that the completion of the opponent's deck might be higher than Hibiki Midori's. Even excluding the Evil God card itself, the strength of the Darklords alone was worth being cautious about.

At this time, the Evil God had already drawn two cards. After the hand change, the number of cards in his hand remained six, but two Darklord resources had already been sent to the graveyard.

The Evil God immediately did not hesitate and directly used the graveyard resources to attack.

"Activate magic card 'Darklord Contact'!"

The Evil God waved his hand to play the magic, and the magic card on the front field emerged amidst golden waves.

"Only one Darklord Contact can be activated per turn."

"But this card can special summon any Darklord monster from your graveyard in defense position!"

Apparently, he already had two Darklords in his graveyard at this time, and he chose one and slapped it onto the Duel Disk.

"Special summon 'Darklord Superbia'!!!"

Although it had the name of an angel, what erupted when it was summoned was a pitch-black storm. Red feathers flew all over the sky, and beneath those wings appeared a cylindrical dark body. Its prototype was the Pride of the Seven Deadly Sins, the heaviest sin in the world.

【Darklord Superbia, Defense 2400】

"Darklord Superbia's monster effect!" Evil God said, "When this Superbia is successfully special summoned from the graveyard, special summon any Angel-type monster other than 'Darklord Superbia' from the graveyard."

"Therefore, I summon another angel from the graveyard—"

There was only that one angel left in his graveyard that had just been sent in, and it had already been taken out into his hand by him at this time.

"Darklord Ixchel, descend!"

Pitch-black feathers that seemed to be contaminated by darkness fell like raindrops, and the wings spread open. A female angel with a moving figure and slender curves descended slowly, with purple hair and red pupils, her complexion seeming to be covered by a dim filter.

【Darklord Ixchel, Attack 2500】

Ma Like said: "Just two powerful high-level monsters at the start..."

Fujiki You Xuan was not surprised in his heart. He knew that the Darklord deck was like this, and the vast majority of the entire deck was composed of high-star big monsters, almost without small monsters.

Darklords have the ability to instantly special summon a large number of high-level monsters to form suppression, and also have powerful resource operation and the ability to interfere with the opponent's actions outside the turn, which is the truly troublesome part.

"They said that although you are a human, you are very special."

The Evil God said in a stiff tone.

"I want to see exactly how special you can be."

Saying this, he raised his hand and ordered an attack.

"Darklord Ixchel, attack the face-down defense monster!"

The female Darklord flapped her wings, and her body took off amidst a transparent cyclone. Under the flapping of those wings, countless black feathers shot out like hidden weapons, piercing Fujiki You Xuan's face-down monster in the back row with a crackling sound.

The blonde magician, dressed in blue, knelt on the horizontal card, holding her staff across her chest to release a barrier. The Darklord's bombardment pierced through the magic circle, blasting both the person and the circle through.

【Apprentice Magician, Defense 800】 "Apprentice Magician's monster effect." Fujiki You Xuan said, "When this card is destroyed by battle, special summon a Spellcaster-type monster of level 2 or lower from the deck in face-down defense position."

Another magician flew out of Fujiki You Xuan's deck, also a cold female, holding her staff horizontally in front of her, and after the image flashed, it quickly became a face-down card.

【Magician of Faith, Defense 400】

Evil God said: "Superbia revived by the effect of Contact is in defense position and cannot attack this turn. Then my battle phase ends."

His expression remained stiff, and he took out another card from his hand.

"Set a card, turn end."

Fujiki You Xuan: "My turn, draw a card."

He drew a card and immediately flipped the face-down monster on the field.

"Flip summon 'Magician of Faith'!"

【Magician of Faith, Attack 300】

(Author's note: Read every word without missing any!)

The purple-haired magician stood on the field, closing her eyes and chanting a spell. Black spells floated out from the staff, outlining the silhouette of a green card in mid-air.

"When Magician of Faith is flipped, add a magic card from the graveyard to your hand."

Fujiki You Xuan displayed the magic recovered from the graveyard.

"I add the magic card 'Pot of Greed' from the graveyard to my hand."

Fujiki You Xuan revealed the recovered magic and immediately played it again.

"Magic card 'Pot of Greed', draw two more cards from the deck."

This is the power of Magician of Faith, and it is also the important reason why this 1-star magician, who looked like a small fry, was often stuck in the graveyard for years in the early days. In the early environment, whether it was clearing the field or earning cards, it relied heavily on powerful magic, and there were countless magic cards with the power to reverse the situation with a single card, so this thing with magic recovery ability seemed particularly powerful.

"Then sacrifice the Spellcaster-type 'Magician of Faith'!"

"The wings of silence that entrust hope, the magician of light, appear here—"

"—Silent Magician, summon!"

The magician was surrounded by pure white radiance, and a transparent magic circle rose from her feet to the top of her head, her silver hair dancing in the white light. Her white robe was like snow, setting off her skin that looked like it was transparent, and the staff was glowing with dots of light.

【Silent Magician, Attack 1000】

"Silent Magician's attack power increases according to the number of cards in your hand." Fujiki You Xuan said, "I have seven cards in my hand now, and each card increases Silent's attack power by 500 points."

"Therefore, Silent Magician's attack power increases by a total of 3500!"

【Silent Magician, Attack 1000 -> Attack 4500】

Ma Like said "Good": "It seems Mr. Fujiki You Xuan is not to be outdone either, sister."

Ishizu nodded: "Although a high-level monster was summoned in the first turn, this level naturally cannot suppress the King of Games."

"Then I will remove the light-attribute 'Magician of Faith' and the dark-attribute 'Apprentice Magician' from the graveyard from the game!"

Fujiki You Xuan raised his arm high, and while chanting, Ma Like and his sister couldn't help but show surprise again.

"Sacrifice the souls of light and dark to the field of chaos, and call the legendary warrior to descend here! Open the heavens and earth—"

"—Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, summon!"
