Chapter 756: The Wrong Era

"Sin Cyber End Dragon's attack!"

The roar of machines and metal, accompanied by thunder that seemed to be dyed pitch black, erupted from the mouth of the mechanical giant dragon. Plasma merged into the impact of the black flames and exploded, like an unstoppable torrent washing over the covered card, revealing its appearance.

【Marshmallon, DEF 500】

"Oh my, such an exaggerated monster right from the start?"

Marshmallon shouted loudly.

"Who can withstand this!?"

Of course, this wasn't the "Marshmallon" from the Light of Gold Sarcophagus version that You Xuan used against the Wicked Gods before, but the original Marshmallon that Muto Yugi used in DM. It was just that the Marshmallon spirit in the card was the same one as back then.

Just like Atum's Dark Magician and the President's Blue-Eyes White Dragon, the "costumes" changed again and again, constantly upgrading, fusing, and transforming into new forms, but no matter how they changed, they were always the same spirit in different forms. Although the pile of various costumes could form a deck on their own, the spirits in the deck were actually the same one.

You Xuan's Marshmallon was the same. The original Marshmallon used by Yugi wasn't considered a very rare card by the GX era; even passersby used it in the anime. Now that You Xuan had an extra Marshmallon spirit, he simply got an original version.

"Marshmallon cannot be destroyed by battle!"

You Xuan raised his arm to block the energy storm sweeping through Marshmallon's tiny body and said.

"Hmph, but battle damage still needs to be calculated." Paradox snorted, then the corners of his mouth lifted, revealing a dangerous smile. "And Sin Cyber End Dragon possesses the ability of the Cyber End Dragon body."

"When attacking a defense position monster, if the attack power exceeds the defense power, deal piercing damage for the excess!"

Marshmallon's defense was only a mere five hundred, while Sin Cyber End Dragon's value was as high as four thousand!

Even though Marshmallon was known as the invincible shield, what was invincible was only itself; in the face of piercing damage, the damage it could offset was pitifully small. The terrifying energy impact immediately pierced through Marshmallon's body and slammed into You Xuan.

You Xuan swayed and took a few steps back, his figure looking like it was about to be overturned by the violent energy storm.

【You Xuan, LP 4000 -> LP 500】

"You Xuan!"

Mokuba in the earpiece couldn't help but shout worriedly.

A huge damage of 3500 points all at once, and judging from the values fed back from the Duel Disk, it seemed to be real damage that far exceeded the level of a regular duel and reached the level of a Shadow Game!

Mokuba had quickly discovered through equipment that the source of this abnormality seemed to be mainly this field spell "Sin World"—it seemed that this Sin field caused the extraordinary damage.

This was a field with extraordinary power!

There was also Blue-Eyes White Dragon...

From the moment the opponent took out Sin Blue-Eyes, the entire control room on Mokuba's side almost exploded.

How could this person have Blue-Eyes White Dragon!?

Was it a fake card like the ones led by Marik's Ghouls?

But now they had discovered that it shouldn't be. Although this person used alienated monsters with the prefix "Sin," the summoned monsters seemed to be real spirits!

Even this Blue-Eyes White Dragon was no exception; it actually seemed to be the real Blue-Eyes spirit!

This was very baffling.

Could it really be because of another world...

"I'm fine." You Xuan replied calmly.

He had long known that the Sin World caused real damage to duelists, so he didn't feel surprised in his heart. This was a bit different from traditional Shadow Duels; Paradox belonged to the villain faction of the third part, "Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's." This villain overturned the traditional mystical side of the previous works and changed to a technological villain.

The villains of this work came from a ruined future and had technology far beyond the modern era. They could use technological means to forcibly bind spirits, could use technological means like Judai and others to materialize spirits in reality, could travel through time, modify history, and even use technological means to achieve the same effect as Shadow Duels.

"Sin World," and even this entire Sin deck, were all cross-era decks developed based on these future technologies. Marshmallon drooped its eyes and felt a bit sorry as it looked at You Xuan: "Sorry, because my defense is too low..."

You Xuan just smiled: "No, it's just what I wanted."

Saying this, he looked up and said.

"Although you pierced Marshmallon, don't forget Marshmallon's effect." You Xuan waved his hand. "Attacking a face-down defense position Marshmallon, after damage calculation, deal 1000 points of damage to the opponent player!"

Marshmallon immediately gathered its strength, seemingly wanting to take this opportunity to wash away the shame of not being able to protect its master just now. Its soft body straightened up, and a ball of energy shot toward Paradox as if reflected, exploding right in his face.

【Paradox, LP 4000 -> LP 3000】

Paradox was hit and swayed, but soon snorted disdainfully.

"Only this level of counterattack, it seems the so-called King of this era is nothing more than this...

Attacking the Marshmallon in defense position is meaningless, I give up the attack of 'Sin Blue-Eyes White Dragon.'

Set two cards, turn end."

Paradox waved his hand to set two back-field cards and announced the end of the turn.

You Xuan smiled: "Don't speak too soon.

!

End phase, activate set card."

You Xuan snapped his fingers.

"Trap card 'Rainbow Life'!"

A seven-colored rainbow appeared above his head. You Xuan sent a card from his hand to the graveyard, and the floating rainbow immediately began to sprinkle starlight brilliance onto You Xuan, pouring into his body like charging.

"Rainbow Life, restore your own life points to the value at the beginning of the turn." You Xuan said. "And on this basis, restore life points equal to the total amount of battle damage originally received this turn." (Original effect)

Paradox's expression changed slightly: "What did you say?"

"My life points at the beginning of this turn were 4000, so first restore to 4000 life points." You Xuan said. "Sin Cyber End Dragon dealt me 3500 points of piercing damage, so restore another 3500 life points."

"My total life points are restored to 7500!"

【You Xuan, LP 500 -> LP 4000 -> LP 7500】

"So that's it." Paradox frowned. "Even in the wrong era, after all, he is a duelist with the name of 'King,' so he really isn't easy to deal with."

"You've been muttering strange things since just now." You Xuan said. "Interested in explaining? What do you mean by the wrong era?"

"And what you said before about it being chaotic, what's chaotic?"

Paradox looked at him coldly for a moment.

Then he closed his eyes lightly and said nonchalantly.

"Telling you doesn't matter. Chaotic refers to the history of Duel Monsters and even human development."

"The wrong era refers to the time I am in now, which is also your time."

He opened his eyes, his gaze looking sharply at You Xuan.

"For example, you, Fujiki You Xuan. You are a duelist who shouldn't exist in the timeline."
