Chapter 783

"Electromagnetic Warrior Alpha's attack!"

Seeing the tiny Magnet Warrior recklessly charging toward the Sun Dragon, Godwin felt something was wrong, but having no other choice, he shouted, "Sun Dragon Inti, strike back!"

The Sun Dragon let out a roar, and molten energy surged from the core in its chest, gathering in its four dragon mouths before firing as a torch-like beam of light!

The result was naturally within reason. The tiny Electromagnetic Warrior was vastly outmatched by its opponent and was swallowed by the flames spat out by the Sun Dragon before it could even get close. The Magnet Warrior's body melted in the fire and quickly dissipated, vanishing completely until it turned into molten iron.

【Fujiki You Xuan, LP 2500 → LP 1200】

The impact of the explosion made him stagger back again, his back slamming into the glass curtain wall of the office behind him. The powerful force caused the glass to crack into a web-like pattern with a loud crash, and transparent air currents swirled backward along with the smoke.

Seeing that there seemed to be no reversal, and that the Sun Dragon had easily destroyed the opponent's Magnet Warrior without any obstruction, Godwin couldn't help but sneer: "Have you lost your mind under the heavy pressure of the Dark Duel?"

Fujiki You Xuan said, "That's not necessarily true."

Godwin: "Nani?"

Realizing something was wrong, he suddenly looked up at his Sun Dragon. He saw the Magnet Warrior, which had clearly been destroyed, releasing a massive electromagnetic force that seemed to bind and entangle his Sun Dragon. Under the magnetic repulsion, Sun Dragon Inti's form constantly flickered between solid and ethereal, shaking like an image with poor reception.

Finally, the electromagnetic waves crackled and exploded, and the Sun Dragon could no longer hold on, completely turning into an illusory image and dissipating.

Godwin was shocked: "Sun Dragon Inti, why!?"

The sun is eternal; even if destroyed by some special hidden effect, it should summon the Moon Dragon back. And when the Moon Dragon falls, the sun should rise again. That is how it should have been.

So where did his massive Sun Dragon go? Why is it gone?

Only then did he notice the ring-shaped magnetic field beneath their feet crackling with electric snakes. His gaze shifted slightly, and he suddenly realized something: "Super Electromagnetic Field, this field!?"

"Oh? You noticed," Fujiki You Xuan said. "Not bad. Another hidden effect of Super Electromagnetic Field is that once per turn, when your monster battles my Rock-Type, Earth-Attribute monster and your monster is not destroyed, at the end of the Damage Step, that opponent's monster returns to the owner's hand."

Godwin: "!"

What kind of lockdown field is this?

Not only does it have the effect of reviving Magnet Warriors from the Graveyard every turn, but it also comes with this ability...

In other words, if the opponent just puts some Rock-Type trash in Defense Position on the field, he can't just attack freely. Using a big monster to fight Rock-Type trash would easily result in a one-for-one trade.

And since it bounces back to the hand instead of destroying, his combo of infinite sun and moon alternation is broken without a fight.

Sun Dragon Inti is a Synchro Monster and cannot return to the hand, so it was sent directly back to the Extra Deck. Without the Sun Dragon, the Moon Dragon in the Graveyard became a mere decoration.

Thinking of this, Godwin looked at Fujiki You Xuan gloomily.

This guy... did he choose this tactic because he knew about my infinite sun and moon dragon regeneration combo from the start?

But how is that possible? How could he have known?

"Battle continues," Fujiki You Xuan snapped his fingers. "Electromagnetic Warrior Magna, attack Godwin directly... or whoever is inside this Godwin body."

【Electromagnetic Warrior Magna, ATK 3000】

【Godwin, LP 3000】 Godwin had previously paid 1000 LP to Special Summon the Dark Tuner, leaving him with exactly 3000 LP. This sword strike would seal the victory.

Magna's long sword struck out with a crackling sound that pierced the air. As the sword wind wrapped in electric current whistled toward him, Godwin cast aside his suspicion and shouted: "Then I activate my face-down card!

Trap Card 'Honor's Offering'!"

The face-down card flipped, and an object like a giant stone appeared on his field. The stone hovered in the air, its surface engraved with patterns resembling Nazca lines, each line emitting an eerie purple light.

Anyone who had seen the original 5D's would recognize it as the object that appeared before every summoning of the Dark Signers' trump card, the "Earthbound Immortal," resembling the heart of the Earthbound Immortal.

At this moment, the hovering giant stone, resembling the heart of an Earthbound Immortal, erupted with astonishing energy, forming a purple light barrier. The Magnet Warrior's lethal sword strike slashed against the barrier, sending out ripples.

"Honor's Offering can be activated when I have no monsters on my field and the opponent declares an attack," Godwin said. "That monster's attack is negated!

And after that, I Special Summon two 'Offering Stone Tokens' to my field!"

The Magnet Warrior's sword strike was deflected. After the hovering giant stone absorbed the impact, it was enveloped in purple light, split in two, and turned into two stele-like objects that landed on Godwin's field.

【Offering Stone Token, DEF 0】 x2

"And after that,"

Godwin sneered, taking another card that popped out from his deck.

"I add one 'Earthbound Immortal' to my hand."

As the automatically searched card was drawn and Godwin displayed it, a thunderous roar seemed to echo in the sky outside the window. The Public Security Bureau building where they were both located seemed to tremble.

!

Fujiki You Xuan narrowed his eyes.

Earthbound Immortal. According to the normal plot, Godwin shouldn't have obtained the power of the Earthbound Immortal yet... but wait, the opponent has already become a Dark Signer, so it's only natural he would have an Earthbound Immortal.

The Earthbound Immortal is the Dark Signers' strongest trump card, and it's much stronger in the anime than in the physical card game. All Earthbound Immortals can ignore any monsters on the opponent's field and attack the duelist directly, and they are unaffected by any Spell or Trap card effects. On top of such powerful general abilities, different Earthbound Immortals have their own unique effects.

Its design prototype comes from the giant ground drawings in the Nazca Desert in Peru, the "Nazca Lines," and they are gods bound to the land.

This Honor's Offering is also a dedicated trap for Earthbound Immortals, used by Godwin in the original work. The physical card effect is basically retained, but many restrictions have been added.

The physical card requires the controller's LP to be 3000 or less to activate, while the anime version has no such restriction. However, the physical card can be activated when the opponent declares a direct attack—in other words, it's effective even if they bypass the front line like a submarine—but the anime version can't, because the anime version limits it to "when there are no monsters on your field."

Furthermore, the physical card stipulates that the tokens Special Summoned by this effect cannot be used as Synchro Material and can only be Tributed for the Tribute Summon of an Earthbound Immortal. But the anime version has no restrictions; you can use them as Tributes for other high-level monsters or for Synchro Summoning.

Fujiki You Xuan narrowed his eyes.

Looking at it this way, the value of this card is quite good. Getting two tokens for free is useful for anything. You could even use them as Tributes for the Egyptian Gods or the Wicked Gods.

Godwin, being stared at like this, felt a chill for no reason.

How is it that while dueling, I suddenly feel like I'm being targeted by some thief?
