Chapter 969

For someone who uses Deck Destruction tactics, Breo is actually quite lucky.

Deck Destruction tactics, obviously, is to destroy the opponent's deck, shave the opponent's deck to zero cards until they cannot draw cards, so that the opponent will be judged to have lost according to the rules. A duelist with no cards in the deck has no qualification to continue fighting, this is the basic rule.

But unlike Life Points. Everyone's blood volume is fixed at the beginning, but the thickness of the deck is indeed different from person to person.

Most of the decks Fujiki You Xuan used in the anime world are actually large decks of 60 cards, because as analyzed before, in the anime world, the thicker the deck, the more meaningless cards you can stuff into it, and the stronger the deck's resilience, which can reduce the probability of sudden death due to encountering "unpassable fields".

But having said that, Fujiki You Xuan does not have all large decks, he still has decks that happen to be maintained at the minimum standard line of 40 cards. And for Fujiki You Xuan, this type of deck is generally a stunt.

Yes, that's right, a stunt. It is a deck that serves a specific kill combination, or like the one that summoned a specific monster like Goudon when fighting Lua before, or aiming at a specific infinite loop.

In short, the whole deck serves to achieve a certain combination, then there is no need for too many meaningless cards to increase resilience. On the contrary, the fewer cards in the deck, the easier it is to achieve that combination.

Such decks are good for playing around or killing duelists whose level is far below their own, but they don't perform as well as regular large decks when encountering strong players.

Breo is lucky, the deck Fujiki You Xuan happened to use today is a standard 40-card deck. For a Deck Destruction tactic user, it is equivalent to the opponent's blood volume being less, and it is naturally easier to shave it clean than 60 cards.

The phantom of Unicorn as a Synchro material passed through Fujiki You Xuan, and the two horns on its head forked away a card from the top of Fujiki You Xuan's deck, and both were sent into the Graveyard.

"Then battle!" Breo said, "Lightning Unicorn, attack 'Iron Knight Gearfried'!"

That Unicorn neighed, and transparent current overflowed from its whole body. The electric light gathered on the horns on its head through the lightning patterns all over its body, and as it charged, it seemed to turn into a thunder vortex and hit Fujiki You Xuan.

"Then activate set card." Fujiki You Xuan said, "Trap Card 'Mirror Force'!

When the opponent's monster declares an attack, destroy all Attack Position monsters on the opponent's field!"

The trap flipped, and holy blue light energy was released from the card, turning into a hemispherical shield. Ten thousand thunders hit that barrier, exploding the electric light, and it backfired on Lightning Unicorn itself, instead electrocuting it into fragments.

"Hahaha, actually set such a powerful trap, worthy of the Chief." Breo said, "But at this moment, the effect of Lightning Unicorn is also activated!

When Lightning Unicorn is destroyed, both players send cards from the top of their deck to the Graveyard equal to its star level!" (Original effect)

The real card was changed to "destroyed by the opponent" to activate, weakening the practicality of Lightning Unicorn as the core of Deck Destruction tactics. And the real card directly "sends seven cards to the Graveyard for both sides", while the anime is based on the level of the Unicorn sent to the Graveyard to discard cards.

Lightning Unicorn is 7 stars, in most cases it is the same as the real card, sending 7 cards to the Graveyard. But if it is the anime effect, it is theoretically feasible to try to pile up its level very high, and then shave the opponent's deck by ten or twenty cards in one breath. The real card is equivalent to shaving the upper limit of this monster.

Seven cards flowed into the Graveyard like running water from Fujiki You Xuan's deck, and the remaining number of cards in the deck came to 25.

Breo: "Set two cards, turn end!"

Although he shaved a lot of Fujiki You Xuan's cards in one breath, his field also became empty. No monsters to act as a line of defense, obviously all hopes of defense were placed on those two set cards.

Fujiki You Xuan: "My turn, draw.

I summon 'Temple Guardian'."

The huge phantom guarding the temple appeared, the intricate patterns on its semi-transparent body were like a maze, and a face looked silly, looking harmless.

【Temple Guardian, ATK 1100】

"Battle." Fujiki You Xuan said, "Iron Knight Gearfried, attack directly."

The pitch-black armored knight flew out in the air, slashing at the opponent's head with a sword.

Fujiki You Xuan originally thought this sword should trigger one of the traps, but didn't want it to pass through the back row directly, and slashed at Breo without any resistance. Breo's D-Wheel shook, bearing the impact.

【Breo, LP 4000 → LP 2200】

Fujiki You Xuan: "Ho? Actually no trap to deal with the attack?"

"Ahahaha, Chief don't be in a hurry, it's coming."

Breo smiled.

"I activate set card, Trap Card 'Regretful Tuning'!

This card can only be activated when receiving direct attack damage, Special Summon a Synchro monster from the Graveyard.

Revive, Lightning Unicorn!"

Another burst of current overflowed, and the Lightning Unicorn that had just left the field returned to the field again.

【Lightning Unicorn, ATK 2500】

"It's just that as a side effect, if the monster summoned by this effect declares an attack, that monster must be destroyed at the end of that Battle Phase." Breo continued to explain.

Fujiki You Xuan understood: "Lightning Unicorn destroyed, can shave seven more cards from my deck..."

"Exactly!" Breo laughed, "People with no cards in the deck are not qualified to continue speeding."

"Then you have to work hard, my deck still has quite a few cards." Fujiki You Xuan smiled, "Set a card, turn end."

"My turn, draw!"

Breo waved his hand.

"Then let me continue immediately!

Lightning Unicorn, attack 'Iron Knight Gearfried'!"

Unicorn charged again, shooting thunder from its horns, and the fierce thunder hit the iron armor shell of Iron Knight directly.

"Then at this moment, activate the effect of 'Shield Warrior' in the Graveyard." Fujiki You Xuan said, "When Shield Warrior exists in the Graveyard, banish this card from the Graveyard from the game, you can make a monster on your field not be destroyed by battle once."

The monster card appeared out of thin air, like a shield blocking in front of Iron Knight. The warrior holding the shield appeared from it, holding the shield horizontally to block in front of the knight, blocking all the current impact.

Breo: "The card sent to the Graveyard by me from the deck?"

Fujiki You Xuan smiled: "Yeah, thanks to you helping me send it to the Graveyard to activate it."

"Hmph." Breo said, "However, damage still needs to be calculated."

【Fujiki You Xuan, LP 4000 → LP 3300】

"And, Lightning Unicorn revived by 'Regretful Tuning' is destroyed after attacking!"
