Chapter 1785
"Won't your China's navy intervene in this matter?" Emmons gasped. "We're already close to U. S. airspace!"
"What do you think?" Ximen Wudi smiled. "Emmons, do you know about a secret U. S. base?"
At these words, Emmons trembled violently.
"How could you possibly know?"
"Because that was the gift I gave the U. S.," Ximen Wudi said with a faint smile.
"Damn Chinese bastard!" Emmons cursed.
"But before I delivered that gift, you must know this—I have no qualms about using your corpse to tell the whole world who the true enemy of the U. S. is!" With that, Ximen Wudi stood and stepped out the window!
"Kill everyone on this yacht. Leave no survivors," Ximen Wudi said calmly, standing on the deck as he watched the speedboat vanish into the distance.
In his view, this was a warning to his enemies.
He disliked enemies scheming against China—and this was precisely the U. S.'s overreaching arrogance.
Long ago, the U. S. had dispatched carrier-based helicopters to Africa, attempting to destroy China's nuclear submarines, nearly losing their own lives in the process.
Ximen Wudi could never forget this grudge; thus, when the U. S. launched war against China, it was destined to become a fight to the death.
"Understood, boss," Li Jian said, pulling out his phone.
All the sailors on this yacht had been eliminated; now, only Ximen Wudi and Li Jian remained on the speedboat.
Well, at least for now, they were both the owners of this yacht.
This vessel had been purchased by Ximen Wudi for a full three hundred million euros; when inspected by Chinese customs, this sum could spare China's customs officials considerable trouble.
Since Ximen Wudi had arrived in Africa by private jet, and his private jet was parked at a nearby island.
Ximen Wudi and Li Jian drove to that island.
There stood a small warehouse, stocked with ample ammunition and equipment.
Ximen Wudi had no intention of letting this ammunition go to waste in this tropical rainforest—it was far too precious.
He planned to bring all these supplies back to China, as a guarantee of national security—and also as training weapons for the soldiers.
After loading the ammunition onto a truck, Li Jian checked his watch and said, "Boss, it's already 1 a. m. Shall we set course for home now?"
"Not yet," Ximen Wudi shook his head. "We haven't reached our intended destination."
"Where are you going?"
"A beautiful place," Ximen Wudi smiled.
"Alright, should I notify China in advance?" Li Jian asked.
"I'll contact them personally. Also…" Ximen Wudi paused. "Steer this ship toward Antarctica."
Li Jian frowned slightly. "This boat will freeze solid."
Ximen Wudi smiled. "So what? Since it's American-made, let them handle the repairs. If they don't want it turned into a lump of ice, don't keep sailing toward Antarctica—it's called the coldest place in the Arctic Ocean."
Hearing this, Li Jian understood: Ximen Wudi intended to exploit the speedboat's durability to inflict devastating losses on the U. S. —even its annihilation.
"Understood. We're leaving now," Li Jian immediately turned the bow.
After sailing two hundred kilometers, the speedboat's engine roared to life.
It didn't slow—it accelerated wildly, as if desperate to smash into the mountain ahead!
"Hey, I think we've found what we're looking for," Ximen Wudi's lips curled into a smile.
"What treasure?" Emmons asked.
"Guess," Ximen Wudi grinned.
That smile seemed to hide countless stories—but it filled Emmons with a strong sense of conspiracy.
………
"Our plan has failed," a black-clad man said. "Our ship was intercepted en route."
They were attacked en route; two patrol speedboats were sunk.
In truth, the U. S. high command had anticipated this; their plan was to use Emmons to test Ximen Wudi.
But Emmons was simply unlucky—he happened to cross paths with Ximen Wudi.
"I think we don't need to test anymore," said a middle-aged man with golden hair. "I know that Chinese man."
"We've missed our best opportunity. Acting now might leave us caught between two fires," another said.
"Are you worried China's government will intervene?" the golden-haired man asked his left arm.
On his right sleeve, a pistol was clearly pinned!
He wore a black robe, hood pulled low, shrouded entirely in shadow—his true face utterly unidentifiable!
"Yes. If China intervenes, we'll suffer devastating losses," the right arm's owner said. "Especially that man named Zeus—I'm certain he'll kill us without hesitation and pin all blame on the U. S."
Zeus!
Upon hearing that name, the golden-haired man fell silent for several seconds, then said, "Then it seems we have more urgent matters to attend to."
His tone was cold, revealing nothing of his inner thoughts.
This time, he did not refuse. Perhaps that young man named Ximen Wudi would become his greatest future enemy.
………
"What about those cargo ships along the U. S. coastline?" Ximen Wudi asked, eyes narrowed.
"All have been salvaged. Except for two speedboats that crashed, the rest are intact," Li Jian replied. "I've already sent people to clean up—so many firearms and ammunition left there are dangerous."
"Let's go," Ximen Wudi said.
Though Ximen Wudi was no longer affiliated with the military, he still habitually relied on his comrades.
Ximen Wudi had won this battle—but in a sense, it was a pyrrhic victory.
"Boss, if we go back like this, won't it anger President Mr. and make the United States even angrier?" Li Jian asked.
"No." Ximen Wudi shook his head and said, "We're already very close to Huaxia here. If the United States isn't afraid of losing face, then let them come take revenge for all I care—I'm not afraid."
After saying that, Ximen Wudi pulled Li Jian aboard the speedboat.
After drifting on the sea for so long, he could finally return home smoothly, which put him in a rather cheerful mood.
However, Ximen Wudi hadn't noticed that the blond man was sitting right beside him at this moment, quietly watching him, his gaze deep and unfathomable, no one knew what he was thinking.
This fellow's build wasn't tall, and he didn't carry any air of a strongman, yet just sitting there so plainly gave off an intense, oppressive feeling.
"Boss, I just received news that Lopez has already returned to his country." At this moment, Emmons suddenly blurted out this line.
"Oh?" Ximen Wudi's eyebrow twitched. "Then, has Lopez done something to the United States?"
"I think he must be furious about something." Emmons hesitated for a moment, then still added, "Because it's about the death of his junior brother."
"Who killed his junior brother?" Ximen Wudi asked.
"This matter involves some secrets, but…" Emmons started to speak then stopped, and finally said, "For the specifics, you can go ask him yourself—perhaps he'd be willing to tell you."
His attitude had already been made very clear.
"Even if you won't say it, I know—it must be that Lopez killed someone in the United States." Ximen Wudi gave a mocking smile, then said, "But then again, he deserved it. Back then, Lopez nearly got me killed—how could I possibly forget that grudge?"
After pausing for a moment, Ximen Wudi looked at his own shoulders: "I hope to take care of this fellow sooner rather than later, so he won't be lurking in the shadows like a venomous snake every day, waiting for a chance to strike."
Emmons didn't say a word, seemingly in full agreement with Ximen Wudi's view.
Ximen Wudi added, "I know that in this world, there can never be friends forever, nor enemies eternal. But what I want to say is, no matter where you are, there will always be a group of people willing to protect Huaxia."
"I understand what you mean, Boss." Emmons nodded and said, "Thank you for reminding me, and I wish you a safe voyage home."
"I might return to the country a bit later." Ximen Wudi patted Emmons's shoulder: "You be careful too—those fellows might be keeping an eye on things near your fleet."
With that, Ximen Wudi dove straight into the sea.
Emmons and Li Jian both jumped in after him, and then the speedboat sped off toward the coastline.
After the speedboat had sailed far away, the blond man finally took off his hood, revealing a face full of weariness and hardship.
"What do you mean by this? Are you saying we still have to help this Huaxia kid?" another man asked.
These two men were precisely the other two of the trio that had been pursuing Ximen Wudi earlier!
