Chapter 117: Be Good, Come Up
Cheng Wan and Qin Yunshu returned to the private room one after the other.
The corners of Cheng Wan's eyes still held physiological tears from vomiting, and her face was pale.
"I don't feel well, I want to go back."
Chu Li immediately took her hand, "Do you want to go to the Yiyuan?"
A sense of foreboding arose in Qin Yunshu's heart.
Sure enough, she only heard Cheng Wan's voice ring out: "It's nothing, you take me back."
Chu Li agreed.
"Mm."
Qin Yunshu stood up in a somewhat uncontrolled manner, knocking into the bowls and chopsticks in front of her; the sound was crisp.
Cheng Wan was doing it on purpose.
She was retaliating.
She wanted to take Chu Li away and block this marriage alliance.
"Brother." Qin Yunshu bit her lip, her slightly trembling hands pressing hard against the edge of the table, "The meal isn't finished yet."
She reminded Chu Li that the matter of her marriage alliance with Cheng Han had not yet been finalized.
He could not leave.
Cheng Wan curled her lips; Chu Li had chosen Qin Yunshu again this time.
She gave a sarcastic, cynical laugh.
"After all, this is Miss Qin's major life event; if you leave, won't she cry until she goes blind?"
"I can go back by myself; you should hurry up and finalize the marriage with your sister Yun Shu, lest she curse me even in her dreams."
After she finished speaking, she stood up, preparing to leave.
Chu Li, however, gripped her wrist.
This marriage alliance was very important, and Chu Li had his own choices to make.
He could not walk away, yet he was unwilling to let Cheng Wan leave.
"Wanwan, I will take you upstairs to rest."
Cheng Wan met Qin Yunshu's hidden, triumphant gaze and smiled mockingly.
"No need, I can go back by myself."
She had hands and feet; it wasn't as if she couldn't live without Chu Li.
Chu Li gripped her wrist, but he half-forced her to go to the lounge upstairs.
He instructed her indifferently: "We will go back together later."
"Chu Li, I don't want to be here."
Cheng Wan did not want to wait for him.
Chu Li did not speak, merely ordering the waiter to close the door.
Cheng Wan was so angry she laughed.
He was forcing her to wait here.
The room was quiet; Cheng Wan could not get out, so she could only use her phone to pass the time.
It just so happened that Lin Qingya sent a message; the two hadn't met in a long time and wanted to make plans.
Cheng Wan complained about being locked in the hotel by Chu Li.
Lin Qingya happened to be nearby, so she decided to come find her.
Downstairs in the private room.
The atmosphere was not very good.
The matter of the marriage alliance involved every aspect.
Moreover, Cheng Huade was not very satisfied with the marriage alliance between Qin Yunshu and Cheng Han.
After all, Qin Yunshu was only Chu Li's god-sister, not a member of the Chu Family, and furthermore, she did not get along with Chu Li's woman, while Chu Li clearly favored that woman.
He wanted a one-hundred-percent guarantee of profit.
Chu Li said in a deep voice: "So, Uncle Cheng's meaning is that you feel Yun Shu is not worthy of Cheng Han? Don't forget, back then it was Yun Shu who went abroad with Cheng Han."
Cheng Huade knew about this; it was precisely because of this incident that the relationship between the Chu Family and the Cheng Family had plummeted to freezing point.
Fortunately, the two ladies of the families were on good terms and had private contact, so the relationship had eased.
"Boyfriend and girlfriend, naturally they can date however they like, but marriage is different." Cheng Huade was all smiles, "A Li is a businessman, you should understand what I mean."
Chu Li swirled his wine glass and looked at Cheng Han, "What is your opinion?"
The Cheng Family was putting on airs, and he was not very happy.
In his eyes, Qin Yunshu's happiness was far greater than the benefits brought by a marriage alliance.
Qin Yunshu clenched her fingers; she waited anxiously for Cheng Han's answer.
She was hoping.
Cheng Han had not spoken the whole time, leaning lazily against the back of his chair as if the marriage alliance had nothing to do with him.
At this moment, when Chu Li asked, he said slowly: "In my view, cooperation does not necessarily require a marriage alliance."
Qin Yunshu's face turned pale, on the verge of tears.
He had refused.
Chu Li frowned; he had seen it earlier, Cheng Han's feelings for Qin Yunshu were not what they used to be.
Therefore, he had to push for the marriage alliance.
This was something he had promised Qin Yunshu.
Cheng Huade did not expect Cheng Han to have such thoughts, and he scolded in a low voice: "Cheng Han, do you know what you are saying?"
In his eyes, a marriage alliance was the most stable form of cooperation.
Cheng Han shrugged; see, no one respected his opinion, yet they insisted on asking for his thoughts.
He did not really want a marriage alliance.
Just then, the door to the private room was suddenly pushed open.
Lin Qingya burst in.
The three members of the Cheng Family stood up in unison and looked toward the door.
"Lin Qingya."
"Qingya."
"Xiaoya."
Lin Qingya's expression changed slightly; why were all the Cheng Family members here?
But she quickly gathered her focus.
She asked Chu Li anxiously, "Where is Wanwan?"
Chu Li's heart skipped a beat. "Upstairs."
Lin Qingya was panting heavily from anxiety, "Something might have happened to Wanwan."
Chu Li stood up abruptly and rushed toward the stairs with long strides.
The door to the lounge was wide open at this moment.
He rushed into the room, but instead of seeing Cheng Wan, he saw a strange man with half his body leaning out of the window, constantly reaching downward, trying to grab something.
Outside the floor-to-ceiling window, a pair of hands were clutching the window frame tightly.
That was... Cheng Wan.
Chu Li raised his hand to shove the man aside, and sure enough, he saw Cheng Wan.
Her entire body was hanging outside the window, in great danger.
"Wanwan."
Chu Li grabbed her wrists, trying to pull her back up.
But Cheng Wan, who had been struggling to climb up, suddenly stopped moving.
She looked up and just watched him quietly like that.
"Chu Li, you're here."
Chu Li was devastated; he could feel the strength in her palms gradually giving up.
"Don't, Wanwan." His voice was hoarse, his eyes splitting with rage, as he tried to pull her up with all his might.
But she would not cooperate.
She did not use any strength.
"Come up, Wanwan, I beg you." His voice was trembling.
Cheng Wan's fingers, hooked onto the window, slowly let go; she still wore that calm expression.
There was even a faint smile on her lips.
"Chu Li, you say, if I fall, would everything be over and done with?"
Her tone was relaxed.
As if there were not a ten-story drop beneath her feet.
And if she fell, she would inevitably be smashed to pieces.
"Pull her up!" Chu Li had almost half his body leaning out of the window.
He stubbornly refused to let go.
Another pair of hands reached out to help him grab Cheng Wan.
It was Cheng Han.
The two men exerted force together, pulling Cheng Wan upward.
But Cheng Wan braced one foot against the wall, refusing to grant their wish.
Her eyes were full of determination, as if she had already made some kind of preparation.
"Chu Li, I am really tired; please let me go."
Chu Li saw her intention; he gritted his teeth tightly and almost roared.
"Cheng Wan, you dare."
He used Wen Ping'an to threaten her, "If you dare to jump, I will definitely make Wen Ping'an be buried with you."
Cheng Wan no longer cared.
She chuckled, "Then I'll take him to reunite with Xingwan; that's not bad either."
"These years, I have truly been tired."
"Why don't you be hard-hearted and give us a chance to reunite."
Chu Li was terrified.
"No."
His threatening tone turned into a plea.
His eyes were red, "Wanwan, be good, come up."
Cheng Wan only looked at him, "Then can you let me leave?"
