Chapter 164: Isn't it enough that he is accompanying Qin Ping'an

~7 min read 1,396 words

Cheng Wan kissed his cheek, "Ping'an, is it not good here?"

Qin Ping'an tugged at her sleeve, his voice small, "I want to be with Dad, I want to go home."

He had been forcibly taken to Cheng Mingzhu's place today and was already terrified, and then Cheng Mingzhu had said many things in front of him about how his dad didn't want him.

Now, little Ping'an's heart was filled with anxiety and fear.

He wanted his dad.

Chu Li walked up and asked affectionately in a soft voice, "Is Uncle Chu not good?"

Ping'an pursed his lips, his eyes wet, "I want Dad."

Having experienced such a terrifying event, he subconsciously only wanted to be close to the person who had been staying with him all along.

Wen Lvzhong had always felt heartache for this son.

"It just so happens that tomorrow is the weekend, I'll take him to my place to stay for two days."

"That works too." Cheng Wan agreed, then said to Qin Ping'an, "Mom will come to pick you up in two days."

Qin Ping'an, however, shook his head and tugged at her clothes, "Mom too."

He did not want Mom and Dad to be separated.

Cheng Wan paused, looked up at Chu Li, and met the man's somewhat cold gaze.

She then understood what he meant.

"But Mom has things to do and can't get away, Ping'an, be a good boy."

Qin Ping'an let out a "waa" and cried, throwing a rare tantrum.

"I just want Mom and Dad together."

"I want to go home."

He squirmed around.

Chu Li's expression changed slightly; he lifted him from Cheng Wan's embrace and tossed him to Wen Lvzhong.

He was worried about his daughter.

Qin Ping'an cried his heart out, wanting his dad and wanting his mom.

Wen Lvzhong coaxed him for a long time before his crying quieted down a little.

Cheng Wan's heart melted.

"I'll go pack some things." She agreed.

Just as she started to walk away, her wrist was gripped.

She looked up at Chu Li.

Chu Li increased the strength in his hand and said calmly, "Just have Lawyer Wen stay here."

Cheng Wan frowned, "You..."

Wen Lvzhong glanced at Cheng Wan and agreed.

"Alright."

Cheng Wan said nothing more, but her expression was not very good; she felt Chu Li was being a bit excessive.

Ping'an was clearly not in a good state, yet he was unwilling to let go at a time like this.

Qin Ping'an still wanted to go home, so Wen Lvzhong carried him to the side to coax him, promising to stay with him for these few days, and only then was he calmed down.

When eating dinner, Qin Ping'an wanted to sit between Cheng Wan and Wen Lvzhong; only then did he feel a sense of security.

Cheng Wan and Wen Lvzhong both couldn't help but take care of him.

Chu Li watched this, and his heart felt increasingly bitter.

He was very jealous.

Yet he couldn't bicker with a child, so he just finished his dinner with a cold expression.

Qin Ping'an was exceptionally clingy to Wen Lvzhong and Cheng Wan, wanting the three of them to be together every single moment.

When it was time to sleep, he also wanted Cheng Wan and Wen Lvzhong to accompany him.

Cheng Wan felt a bit awkward.

Qin Ping'an's little mouth drooped, ready to cry.

Cheng Wan was helpless and could only agree, lying on one side with Wen Lvzhong on the other.

Qin Ping'an was satisfied, holding his dad with one hand and his mom with the other, feeling full of security.

After more than an hour, confirming he was asleep, Cheng Wan got up on tiptoe.

Wen Lvzhong whispered, "Go back quickly, or he will get angry."

Cheng Wan raked her fingers through her hair, "Mm."

She returned to the master bedroom.

Almost as soon as she entered the door, she was pulled into an embrace.

Warm breath fell on the top of her head, accompanied by the man's somewhat heavy breathing.

The disparity in strength made it impossible for her to break free.

The room was pitch black, and she could not see Chu Li's expression.

"Let go," she said in a low voice.

Chu Li could hear the impatience in her tone.

Jealousy gnawed his heart into a mess.

"Isn't it enough that he is accompanying Qin Ping'an? Do you have to stay over there for so long?"

He couldn't help but ask, the sour taste very strong.

Cheng Wan stopped struggling; she let him hold her, her voice cold.

"Ping'an was frightened, he needs my comfort, besides, haven't I returned?"

"Cheng Wan." Chu Li whispered, an unknown emotion spreading with an ambiguous flavor.

He lowered his head to touch her lips.

He wanted to kiss her; only in this way could he soothe the sour jealousy in his heart.

Cheng Wan could not see, but she felt it.

The moment his lips descended, she tilted her head slightly and dodged.

Chu Li's kiss landed on her cheek.

The ambiguous atmosphere became awkward.

There was also a trace of dullness.

"Unwilling?" He chuckled self-deprecatingly, "Because he is here?"

Cheng Wan did not know why Chu Li kept obsessing over her relationship with Wen Lvzhong; she had clearly explained it many times.

This time, she did not even want to explain.

"I am going to sleep, can you let go?"

Responding to her was her chin being gripped, and a kiss forced upon her lips.

It carried restrained anger.

Cheng Wan struggled, but her body was pressed against the door.

Chu Li stepped forward forcefully, his long legs pressing against her legs, his large palm gripping her wrists, holding her firmly in his grasp.

Cheng Wan could not break free at all.

Fortunately, Chu Li was still mindful of the child in her belly, and his force gradually became gentle.

He missed her scent.

He missed everything about her.

So that longing, carved into his bones, gave rise to a spreading tenderness that calmed his jealousy.

His grip loosened.

"Slap."

In the darkness, the sound of the slap was crisp.

Chu Li pressed his tongue against the inside of his cheek.

Being hit was within his expectations.

"You're carrying a child, don't use too much force."

Cheng Wan was furious, and her disgust for him could no longer be hidden.

"Chu Li, stay away from me, you disgust me."

She lowered her eyes, the words she spoke cold and heartless.

Chu Li obeyed and stepped back one pace; perhaps because of that kiss, his attitude calmed down.

But the words he spoke were also infuriating.

"Even if you're disgusted, there's no way around it; you still have to stay by my side."

Cheng Wan turned on the light.

In the brightness, she saw the bright red fingerprint on half of Chu Li's face.

That was what she had just hit.

Yet Chu Li acted as if nothing had happened; he was in black silk pajamas, his long legs striding out, "Go wash up and sleep."

His light and breezy attitude made Cheng Wan grit her teeth in anger.

Right in front of him, she wiped her mouth and walked into the bathroom coldly.

Chu Li's expression darkened instantly.

When Cheng Wan finished tidying up and came out, she had already changed into white pajamas.

She looked at the man half-lying at the head of the bed, instinctively resisting.

But she still walked over, step by step.

She lay down along the edge of the bed.

But immediately, she was pulled over by the lying Chu Li.

She rolled into his arms, her palm pressed against his chest.

And his palm landed on the position of her lower abdomen.

There, it was already slightly protruding.

All of Chu Li's emotions calmed down; the woman in his arms was carrying his child.

He should not make her angry.

He kissed Cheng Wan's forehead, then turned off the light, his voice soft.

"Is our daughter being obedient?"

Like Qin Ping'an, he stubbornly believed that Cheng Wan was carrying a daughter.

Cheng Wan turned slightly, facing away from him, refusing to communicate.

Chu Li was silent for two seconds, then pressed up from behind and pulled her into his arms.

"Sleep."

In any case, they still had a long time ahead of them.
