Chapter 171: Cheng Mingzhu Apologizes
When Cheng Wan woke up, Chu Li had just come out of the walk-in closet.
He was wearing a black shirt, his figure tall and slender. When he looked over, his expression was very indifferent.
Cheng Wan rubbed her temples and sat up, reaching out to touch her phone; she had set an alarm.
Perhaps because she hadn't fallen asleep until the middle of the night and only dozed off when dawn broke, she hadn't heard the alarm when it went off.
She was a little worried about Qin Ping'an.
She went to look at Chu Li again, wanting to talk to him about the blind date between Wen Lvzhong and Chu Fangfei.
But by the time she got up, washed, and went downstairs, Chu Li had already left.
At the dining table, Wen Lvzhong was keeping Ping'an company while he ate breakfast; seeing her, he frowned slightly, "Did you and Chu Li have a fight?"
When Chu Li left, he was clearly in a bad mood.
Cheng Wan took a bite of egg, thought for a moment, and still asked him, "The blind date with Chu Fangfei, was it forced on you by Chu Li?"
Wen Lvzhong suddenly realized, "You two fought because of this?"
Cheng Wan said very seriously, "No matter what, I don't want you to be with Chu Fangfei, she... her mother is not someone easy to get along with."
"I'm doing it voluntarily." Wen Lvzhong let Qin Ping'an go to the living room to play before speaking slowly, "You know, my mother has been urging me to get married, it's the same whoever I go on a date with."
Cheng Wan was stunned; he was doing it voluntarily?
Voluntarily to the point of considering someone from the Cheng Family?
She frowned, "You need to think clearly, marriage is a lifelong matter, one wrong step and every step is wrong."
Like her, still trapped in this quagmire now.
"You misunderstood Chu Li on this matter, he only mentioned it, it was me who agreed to the meeting." Wen Lvzhong explained.
It was also what he wanted.
Since Wen Lvzhong was willing, Cheng Wan had nothing more to say.
She finished breakfast and went to the studio.
There were two custom perfumes that needed fine-tuning, and with Lin Qingya's surgery coming up, she had to make time to accompany her.
After a busy morning, Cheng Wan finally had time to rest.
There was nothing to do in the afternoon, so after handing the studio over to Xiao Yu, she went to the Yiyuan.
Just as she reached the door of the hospital room, she heard Cheng Mingzhu's voice.
Cheng Wan rushed in almost immediately.
But the situation in the room was not as tense as she had imagined.
Lin Qingya even smiled slightly, "Wanwan."
Cheng Mingzhu bit her lip, hesitant, but still greeted her.
"Cheng Wan."
Compared to her previous overbearing demeanor, she had changed a lot.
Cheng Wan didn't look at her, only walked to Lin Qingya's side and asked her how she was feeling today.
Cheng Mingzhu was angry.
"Cheng Wan, I'm greeting you, why are you ignoring me."
She was the daughter Cheng Huade had raised in the palm of his hand; apart from Cheng Wan, no one had dared to give her a cold shoulder.
Even after staying at the Police Station for a few days, her temper was still explosive.
It was just that neither Cheng Wan nor Lin Qingya paid her any mind.
Cheng Mingzhu was left hanging for a while and felt a bit embarrassed, but miraculously, she held it in again.
She muttered, "Cheng Wan, you also have the surname Cheng, maybe we were one family five hundred years ago."
Cheng Wan raised her eyes and looked at her quietly.
Cheng Mingzhu deflated, "I'm here to apologize."
She looked at Lin Qingya with some embarrassment, "It was my fault for targeting you because of Qin Yunshu before."
She glanced at Lin Qingya's hand, "Also, I shouldn't have taken her to the Old Residence."
Lin Qingya didn't speak.
Cheng Mingzhu added, "I, Cheng Mingzhu, admit my mistakes when I make them, but I won't let the person who used me off either, just you wait."
She stepped in her high heels and walked out quickly.
Lin Qingya frowned, "What does she mean?"
Cheng Wan patted her shoulder, "I'll go take a look."
She had only just reached the corridor when she heard screaming coming from Qin Yunshu's room.
Cheng Wan walked to the door and looked inside.
The room was very lively.
The bodyguards Cheng Mingzhu brought were pinning down Lady Qin, while Cheng Mingzhu herself was pinning down Qin Yunshu, and slaps were landing heavily on Qin Yunshu's face.
"Trying to frame me, huh? Qin Yunshu, do you think I, Cheng Mingzhu, am a pushover, hmm?"
Cheng Mingzhu had always considered Qin Yunshu her best sister; she had sincerely schemed for Qin Yunshu, hoping she could marry Cheng Han and marry into the Cheng Family.
She had even gone so far as to deal with Lin Qingya for her and kidnap Qin Ping'an.
But what she got in the end was betrayal.
This was the biggest loss Cheng Mingzhu had ever suffered in her life.
"Mingzhu, Mingzhu, listen to my explanation." Qin Yunshu could only beg for mercy, "I know you're angry, but I had no choice either."
She tearfully complained about her own hardships.
"You know, your brother doesn't like me, and the Chu Family isn't willing to acknowledge me as their daughter; if I go to jail, my whole life will be ruined."
"But you are different; you have parents who love you, and a brother. They wouldn't just watch you get into trouble. Look, you are standing here perfectly fine right now."
"Besides, Qin Ping'an clearly didn't suffer any harm, yet Cheng Wan is still hounding you and insisting you go to jail. It's all her fault; you should go find her."
The final note was distorted.
Cheng Mingzhu is simple and easy to deceive, but after tasting betrayal once, she will not be fooled again.
Cheng Wan looked at the recording on her phone, a bit of relief appearing on her face; this recording was enough to prove that Qin Yunshu had incited Cheng Mingzhu to commit kidnapping.
She prepared to leave quietly.
But as she turned around, she saw Chu Yue.
She was silent and motionless; it was unknown how long she had been standing there.
Cheng Wan gripped her phone tightly.
Chu Yue walked up to her, a gentle smile hanging on her face like a mask.
"Wan Wan, give the phone to me."
The tone was gentle, but the manner was unyieldingly firm.
Just as Cheng Wan was about to put the phone into her pocket, it had already been snatched away by the bodyguard beside Chu Yue.
Chu Yue tapped on the recording, listened to it once, and then deleted it.
She returned the phone to Cheng Wan and said gently, "As a family, it is better to be more tolerant. If this recording gets out, the impact won't be good. You can understand that, right?"
The video had already been deleted, yet she still asked this.
Cheng Wan only felt suffocated.
She left in silence.
Chu Yue watched her retreating figure, a flash of disdain crossing her eyes.
Cheng Wan is still too small-minded and lacks class.
She entered the hospital room.
Qin Yunshu looked as if she had seen a savior and cried out miserably, "Aunt, save me."
Chu Yue sighed and had the bodyguard pull Cheng Mingzhu away.
Cheng Mingzhu was still not satisfied, "I'll show you for plotting against me; I'll peel your skin off."
Lady Qin hurried over to protect her daughter.
Qin Yunshu's hair was a mess, her face was covered in bruises, and there were several scratch marks and fingerprints; she was exceptionally disheveled.
She huddled in Lady Qin's arms, crying pitifully.
"Alright." Chu Yue frowned slightly, but quickly revealed a smile again, "Mingzhu, stop making a scene."
Only then did Cheng Mingzhu look at Chu Yue and say irritably, "Who are you?"
"I am Chu Li's aunt. It was my decision that allowed you to get out of the Police Station."
Chu Yue said affectionately, "I know there are some misunderstandings between you and Yun Shu, but she is now a young lady of the Chu family and cannot be beaten or scolded so casually."
"Since you have vented your anger, let this matter end here."
