Chapter 16

Fuck! Could this thing have Card Spirits?

Before the 【Masked Beast Death Guardian】 died, its three heads inexplicably tilted slightly toward You Tian, startling him.

He shook his head. Tiantian reading novels is super useful, ttks. tw anytime.

Forget it, I'll confirm after the battle.

"Once more, I equip 【Last Words' Mask】 to your 【Amazon's Duelist】, gaining control of it."

Kongque Wu: "Hmph! You Tian, the same trick won't work on me again!"

"I activate a Trap Card: 【Rescue Plot】."

"【Effect: When a card targeting a monster with '/Amazon' in its name activates, you can activate this card. Return the targeted monster card to the hand, and Special Summon 1 other monster from the hand."

"I return 【Amazon's Duelist】 to my hand, and Special Summon this card from my hand: 【Amazon's Chain Master】!"

"【Attack Power: 1500】"

"Now, your monster's effect is negated!"

You Tian nodded.

No wonder he made it to the Duel City top eight in the Original Plot.

"I'll cover one more monster, end my turn."

"Hehe! Little brother You Tian, looks like you're out of options this time?"

You Tian spread his hands.

"Then, my turn—Draw Phase!"

"I activate a Magic Card from my hand: 【Desire's Urn】, draw two cards."

Seeing the drawn cards, Kongque Wu's eyes narrowed slightly.

"You Tian, I'm going all out now!"

You Tian nodded: "Come on, Sister Wu!"

"I Summon 【Amazon Princess】 from my hand to the field."

"【Attack Power: 1200】"

"Princess's effect activates: this turn, I can add one Magic or Trap Card with 'Amazon' in its name from my Deck to my hand."

"I add this Field Spell, 【Amazon Village】, from my Deck to my hand, then immediately activate it."

"【Amazon Village】 【Effect: ①: 'Amazon' monsters on the field gain +200 Attack Power. ②: Once per turn, when an 'Amazon' monster is destroyed by battle or effect and sent to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon 1 'Amazon' monster from your Deck with a Level equal to or lower than the destroyed monster's original Level.】"

"Now, all my monsters gain +200 Attack Power."

"【Amazon's Chain Master】 【Attack Power: 1500→1700】"

"【Amazon Princess】 【Attack Power: 1200→1400】"

"Then, battle!"

Kongque Wu: "I attack your covered monster with 【Amazon Princess】. At this time, Princess's other effect activates."

"When Princess declares an attack, you can send 1 card from your hand or field—other than this card—to the Graveyard, then Special Summon 1 'Amazon' monster from your Deck in Defense Position, excluding Princess."

"I send 【Amazon's Duelist】 from my hand to the Graveyard, and Special Summon this monster from my Deck."

"Come forth, 【Amazon's Pet Cub Tiger】."

"【Defense Power: 500】"

"Battle continues—Princess attacks your covered monster."

The monster flipped over, revealing a magician girl wearing black-rimmed glasses.

"【Earth Spirit Os】 【Defense Power: 1500】"

The Princess's spear failed to pierce the magician girl's barrier.

【Kongque Wu LP: 4000→3900】

"Defense 1500? No problem—just 100 damage. I'll still destroy her with 【Amazon's Chain Master】!"

You Tian's lips curled slightly.

"【Earth Spirit Os】's effect activates!"

Kongque Wu: "Nani?"

"When this card is flipped face-up, you gain control of 1 Earth-attribute monster on your opponent's field."

Kongque Wu: "What did you say?!"

"So, come to my field: 【Amazon's Chain Master】!"

As the magician girl cast her spell, Kongque Wu's monster once again switched sides.

Kongque Wu: …

【But I must warn you beforehand—after this, don't get mad!】

Only now did Kongque Wu understand the meaning behind You Tian's words.

"Um… little brother You Tian, why… are your cards so…"

Kongque Wu searched her mind for a neutral term to describe You Tian's cards, but all she could find were "shameless" and "despicable."

"... Your cards… are all… quite special?" Kongque Wu finally found a less derogatory word.

You Tian spread his hands.

"I'm poor, can't afford better cards—have to use these."

Kongque Wu: "Hmm, can't you use some honorable cards instead?"

You Tian: "Honorable? Honorable is impossible, never in this life can I be upright and proper. I can't rely on divine draws—only these Niu Tounren let me win."

Kongque Wu regretted challenging You Tian to a Duel.

Whatever. Might as well grit my teeth and finish it.

"My battle phase is over. But in the standby phase, I activate this card's effect: 【Amazon Spellcaster】."

"When this card is in your hand or graveyard, you can target 1 Amazon card on your field other than 【Amazon Spellcaster】; return that card to its owner's hand, and special summon this card."

"I return 【Amazon Princess】 to my hand, and special summon the Spellcaster."

"When this card is successfully special summoned, I can add 1 【Fusion】 card from my deck to my hand!"

You Tian straightened his expression.

The big one's coming!

"All preparations are done, little brother You Tian—it's time you see my ace!"

You Tian: "Bring it!"

"Fusion material: 【Amazon Pet Tiger】 + 【Amazon】 monster!"

"When 【Amazon's Pet Cub Tiger】 is on the field, it can be treated as 【Amazon Pet Tiger】."

"From my hand, I activate the Magic Card 【Fusion】, fusing 【Amazon Spellcaster】 and 【Amazon's Pet Cub Tiger】 on the field!"

"With the will of the jungle as the bond, summon the guardian beast! Fusion Summon! Roar! Use your claws to clear all obstacles for my warriors! 【Amazon Pet Tigerlion】!"

ROOOOAR!!!!!

A thunderous roar crashed down from the heavens, and an enraged tiger descended upon the center of the field.

【Amazon Pet Tigerlion】 【Attack Power: 2500 → 2700】

You Tian frowned slightly.

Kongque Wu: "What do you think, little brother You Tian? This is the true power of my Amazon deck!"

"I end my turn like this!"

You Tian nodded solemnly.

The top eight truly live up to their name—they're far stronger than YuE!

"My turn, draw!"

You Tian glanced again at the card he drew.

"Since Sister Wu has already played her ace, I can't hold back either!"

Kongque Wu: "Come on! Your strength surely doesn't end here—show me your true power!"

"Alright!"

Saying this, You Tian inserted a card into his Duel Disk.

"I activate the Magic Card 【Shallow Grave】 from my hand; both players may choose 1 monster in their respective graveyards and special summon it in face-down defense position."

Kongque Wu: "You don't mean to…"

"That's right—I'm summoning my ace again! Rise once more! 【Masked Beast Death Guardian】!"

Kongque Wu: …
