Chapter 17: Niu Tounren Have No Limits!

Sometimes, the relationship between a Duel Monster and its Duelist is like that of a married couple who have spent many years together.

They spend their lives protecting each other, and even after long separations, they still miss one another. Playing novels every day is amazing, ttks. tw is fantastic

But at this very moment, Kongque Wu no longer wished to see that 【Masked Beast Death Guardian】 again.

"Don't just stand there, Sister Wu!"

"The effect of 【Shallow Grave】 applies to both players—you must also summon one monster to the field."

Seeing the boy across from her, smiling brightly in the sunlight, holding up the 【Masked Beast Death Guardian】, Kongque Wu's delicate hands trembled slightly.

She exhaled slowly.

"I choose 【Amazon's Duelist】 from my Graveyard."

Thus, the 【Masked Beast Death Guardian】 returned to You Tian's field.

You Tian glanced at Kongque Wu's field and paused thoughtfully: Two already? Then so be it!

"I change 【Amazon's Chain Master】 to Defense Position, Set three cards, and end my turn."

…

Twenty years ago, Kongque Wu's parents died in an accident. Since then, she had faced the world alone.

A few years later, to make a living, she became a casino dealer on a cruise ship.

After years as a dealer, Kongque Wu discovered one thing.

That humans are no different from animals.

Animals kill and deceive one another for survival and desire.

So do humans.

Those at the gambling tables were like packs of wolves gathered together—they appeared harmonious, yet constantly distrusted each other, always scheming to devour their rivals whole.

Those who approached her because of her beauty were like false peacocks—appearing dazzling and splendid, yet merely disguising their base desires.

And she herself was like a fierce tiger of the jungle—alone, wandering through the wild, her only belief: survival!

Today, she had seen a different species—You Tian.

This guy was nothing but a trap, a rifle, a poacher!

Why does he always want to steal other people's monsters?!

No! I cannot let this boy sink into the world of Niu Tounren!

Niu Tounren have no future!

Only Overlord Axe versus Overlord Axe is the true way!

I must pull him out! I must defeat him!

At this moment, Kongque Wu had forgotten that the purpose of this Duel was to push her own limits.

Now, my 【Amazon Pet Tigerlion】 on the field can destroy his 【Masked Beast Death Guardian】, but when that monster dies, it will forcibly take control of one of my monsters…

"My Draw Phase!"

"You Tian, I told you—the same trick won't work on me again!"

You Tian said nothing.

"I Special Summon 【Amazon's Princess】 from my hand. By her effect, I add the Quick-Play Spell—【Amazon's Secret Art】—from my Deck to my hand."

You Tian's pupils contracted slightly.

"When an Amazon monster is Summoned to my field, 【Amazon's Pet Cub Tiger】 in my Graveyard can be Special Summoned automatically."

【Amazon's Pet Cub Tiger】 【Defense Power: 500】

"Next, I activate the effect of 【Amazon's Spirit Mage】 in my Graveyard: I return 【Amazon's Princess】 to my hand to Special Summon this card in Defense Position."

"When this card is successfully Special Summoned, I can search my Deck for one 【Fusion】."

Kongque Wu's hand +1.

You Tian nodded slightly: "You've Summoned so many monsters at once."

Kongque Wu: "Not done yet! I Flip Summon 【Amazon's Duelist】, revived by your 【Shallow Grave】."

"Attack, You Tian!"

"I attack your 【Earth Spirit Os】 with 【Amazon's Duelist】. While 【Amazon Village】 is on the field, all Amazon monsters gain 200 Attack Power."

"So, 【Amazon's Duelist】's Attack Power is—1700!"

【Earth Spirit Os】 【Defense Power: 1500】

Boom!

The girl mage failed to block the attack this time.

"Since 【Earth Spirit Os】 was destroyed, 【Amazon's Chain Master】 also returns to my field."

The young Chain Master, as if finally freed from demonic control, returned to Kongque Wu's field in obvious panic.

"Now, your field holds only that face-down 【Masked Beast Death Guardian】!"

"I attack 【Masked Beast Death Guardian】 with 【Amazon Pet Tigerlion】!"

"When 【Amazon Pet Tigerlion】 attacks, its Attack Power increases by 500!"

【Amazon Pet Tigerlion】 【Attack Power: 2700→3200】

The beast's claws tore through the face-down monster.

【Masked Beast Death Guardian】 【Defense Power: 2500】

Boom!

【Masked Beast Death Guardian】, destroyed!

You Tian: "At this moment, the effect of 【Masked Beast Death Guardian】 activates again—I can equip one 【Last Words Mask】 from my Deck to your 【Amazon Pet Tigerlion】 and gain control of it!"

But Kongque Wu raised her hand to interrupt.

I already said it—same trick won't work on me!

"From my hand, I activate a Quick-Play Magic Card: 【Amazon's Secret Art】!"

You Tian: "As expected."

Kongque Wu: "According to this card's effect, I can send to the Graveyard the Fusion Materials specified by an Amazon Fusion Monster from my hand or field, and Fusion Summon that one Fusion Monster from my Extra Deck!"

"I send the Level 7 【Amazon Pet Tigerlion】 and 【Amazon's Pet Cub Tiger】 on my field to the Graveyard for Fusion Summoning!"

"Fusion Condition: An Amazon Monster of Level 5 or higher + an Amazon Monster."

"The jungle king, freed from its chains—devour your enemies with your fangs!"

"Fusion Summon! 【Amazon Tigerlion King】!"

【Attack Power: 2900 → 3100】

You Tian lifted his head, gazing at the giant tiger on the opponent's field, momentarily stunned.

"Since 【Amazon Pet Tigerlion】 entered the Graveyard, your 【Last Words Mask】 is invalid!"

You Tian fell silent.

"Not done yet, little brother You Tian—my Battle Phase is still ongoing! You have no monsters on your field now!"

"Go, 【Amazon Tigerlion King】!"

The giant tiger opened its crimson slit pupils, exhaling damp, bloody breath as it lunged straight at You Tian.

Boom!

Another cloud of dust spread thickly.

"Got it… Huh?"

The dust cleared—You Tian was unharmed.

"How is that possible?!" Kongque Wu cried out.

You Tian gestured to Kongque Wu as a Trap Card emerged from the dust.

"I activate this card, 【Guardian Ball】, which changes the battle position of one monster on your field."

"Thus, 【Amazon Tigerlion King】 is now in Defense Position and cannot attack me."

Kongque Wu: …

After a long silence, Kongque Wu slowly exhaled a deep breath.

"I Set one card. End my turn."

It was again You Tian's turn.

"Little brother You Tian," Kongque Wu spoke.

You Tian raised his head.

"Your cards—aren't most of them meant to steal your opponent's monsters?"

"I currently have four monsters on my field: 【Amazon Tigerlion King】, 【Amazon Duelist】, 【Amazon Chainmaster】, and 【Amazon Spirit Mage】. You can steal at most one or two."

"Next turn, I'll Summon new monsters and wipe out your Life Points."

"Sigh… your Dueling skill is high—you should be on par with mine…"

"Why not use proper cards from now on? Stop using those… Niu Tounren cards."

You Tian rubbed his chin.

"A great Duelist once said, 'The final outcome of a Duel can't be judged by temporary advantage.'"

Kongque Wu blinked.

Wasn't that exactly what I said at the start?

No—how are you stealing my lines too?!

Kongque Wu wanted to persuade You Tian further, but You Tian had already begun his move.

"Sister Wu, the truth is—Niu Tounren have no limit!"

Kongque Wu:?

"When your turn ended, I activated the Set Magic Card 【Sin Offering】. According to its effect, I can Summon four Sheep Tokens onto my field."

Baa~ ×4.

Instantly, four adorable little sheep appeared on You Tian's field.

Kongque Wu frowned.

He had seen Jonouchi use 【Sin Offering】—he knew its effect.

This card is usually used for defense… I've already finished my attack—why would You Tian activate it now?

Soon, Kongque Wu's question was answered.

You Tian: "My turn, Draw Phase."

"I activate another Magic Card from my hand: 【Desire's Urn】, drawing two cards."

You Tian: "Now, I have four monsters on my field, and you have four on yours—condition met."

"I reveal my Set Trap Card: 【Hero Swap】."

"This card activates when both players have the same number of monsters— we swap control of all our monsters!"

Kongque Wu: "NANI!!!!!!"

You Tian's lips curled in a smile.

"Sister Wu—I'll gladly take your four monsters~"
