Chapter 59: Am I the Bull Now?

【Déjà Vu】 is a cheating fake card Mo Liang used in the anime.

In the original plot, he used this card to completely wipe out Game's entire field.

Mo Liang: "Hahahaha! This card returns all cards on your field to their state one turn ago. But cards you've already played won't revert!"

Malik, Isis: "Nani!"

You Tian's eyelid twitched.

"In other words, my summoned 【Ten Thousand Hands God】 and 【Nascent Sacrifice Demon】 both have to go to the Graveyard?"

What kind of cheating anime fake card is this?

Dueling every day with you guys using legal fake cards—I sometimes really want to call the police!

"Swoosh! Send your cards to the Graveyard!" Mo Liang urged.

With no choice, You Tian sent 【Nascent Sacrifice Demon】 and 【Ten Thousand Hands God】 to the Graveyard.

Malik, Isis: Has You Tian's hard-won advantage been wiped out in an instant?

"Hehehehe." Mo Liang chuckled again, darkly.

He slowly drew a card from his hand, his gaze fixed on You Tian's 【Giant Rat】.

"Now, the only thing left on your field is that annoying rat!"

"Then it's my turn to attack."

All three tensed.

Mo Liang: "I'll banish three demonic monsters from my Graveyard to Special Summon this one."

"Come forth! 【The Door of Darkness Puppet Niklophilia】!"

As Mo Liang slapped the card onto the Duel Disk, a ghostly woman's laugh echoed from the dark depths of Room 7.

Kekukeke~ kekukekeke~

Ding! Ding! Ding!

A幽blue, alluring, eerie puppet emerged slowly from the darkness, cradling a broken wooden doll infant.

【The Door of Darkness Puppet Niklophilia】【Attack Power: 2200】

"Such a bizarre monster." Though Malik's own Deck contained plenty of bizarre monsters, seeing Niklophilia still made him shiver.

Isis, too, couldn't help but pale.

But You Tian was fine—he'd grown used to 【Nascent Sacrifice Demon】 and 【Masked Beast Death Guardian】 lately, and 【The Door of Darkness Puppet Niklophilia】 actually felt refreshingly elegant.

And…

You Tian stared at Niklophilia, licking his lips with delight: A new piece for the Niu Tounren puzzle!

Mo Liang: "Not done yet!"

"I'll equip this card from my hand—【Soul Residue】—to Niklophilia."

Hoo~

A shadow surged from the card in Mo Liang's hand and clung to Niklophilia's body.

"The effect of 【Soul Residue】 activates: I can Summon a duplicate token with the same Attack Power as the equipped monster!"

Voom~ A shadowy duplicate identical to Niklophilia appeared beside her.

【Duplicate Token】【Attack Power: 2200】

"You've summoned two monsters with 2200 Attack Power at once!" Isis frowned tightly.

But luckily, You Tian's field still had 【Giant Rat】—when destroyed, it can Special Summon another monster from the Deck.

This turn, Mo Liang couldn't deal You Tian much damage.

You Tian nodded slightly.

Two monsters with 2200 Attack Power are coming… no, about to attack, Hajiliang!

Sure enough, the next moment, Mo Liang waved his hand.

"Hahahaha! Battle, You Tian!"

"I'll use 【The Door of Darkness Puppet Niklophilia】 to attack your 【Giant Rat】."

The command given, 【The Door of Darkness Puppet Niklophilia】 lunged eagerly toward You Tian's rat.

"At this moment, the effect of 【Soul Residue】 activates."

"When the equipped monster attacks, reduce the opponent's monster's Attack Power by the equipped monster's Attack Power!"

"Damn!" Isis gasped in shock.

"【The Door of Darkness Puppet Niklophilia】 has 2200 Attack Power—so 【Giant Rat】's Attack Power drops by 2200, straight to 0."

Mo Liang: "Exactly! Hahahaha!"

"Go, 【The Door of Darkness Puppet Niklophilia】!"

【Giant Rat】【Attack Power: 1400→0】

As the rat was about to be "crushed by the Flower Hand," You Tian interrupted in time.

"I activate the face-down card: Quick-Play Spell 【Iron Wall Mask】."

"This card lets me negate one attack this turn."

Just as Niklophilia reached the rat, an unbreakable iron shield suddenly rose, blocking the attack.

"Tch!" Mo Liang spat.

So it was blocked?

"Then in Main Phase 2, I'll activate this Continuous Spell from my hand: 【The Door of Darkness】."

"While this card is on the field, each player can only attack with one monster per turn."

"That ends my turn!"

Isis also let out a sigh.

Fortunately, You Tian had a defense method.

But the current field situation is still difficult.

Mo Liang has two Level 4 monsters with 2200 Attack Power on his field; You Tian has only one monster, the 【Giant Rat】, whose Attack Power has been reduced to 0.

And when 【The Door of Darkness】 is on the field, only one monster may attack.

Even if You Tian sacrifices the 【Giant Rat】 next turn to Summon a higher-level monster, he can only destroy one of them. Next turn, Mo Liang will still keep attacking.

You Tian, what are you going to do?

"My turn, Draw Phase."

"I activate a Magic Card from my hand: 【Desire's Urn】, drawing two cards."

You Tian's hand +1

You Tian glanced at the new cards in his hand.

Hmm~ Good hand! Aside from being stuck, no other flaws.

Heh, those two 【Mask of the Last Words】 were deliberately drawn to piss me off, weren't they?

You Tian sighed helplessly.

The deck is like this—without Divine Draw, getting stuck is inevitable.

But clearing Mo Liang's field? That's no problem.

He lifted his head and looked maliciously at the rabbit-eared demon lord's field.

"I pay 800 Life Points to activate a Magic Card from my hand: 【Brainwash】!"

【You Tian LP: 3500→2700】

"This card allows me, until the end of my turn, to choose one monster on your field and gain control of it!"

"Nani!" Mo Liang gasped in shock.

"The one I choose is definitely 【Dark Puppet Niklophilia】!"

【Brainwash】's effect activates successfully; 【Dark Puppet Niklophilia】 immediately moves to You Tian's field.

Now, both players have one Niklophilia on their field.

Isis: "Perfect! Now, use 【Dark Puppet Niklophilia】 to attack Mo Liang's 【Shadow Duplicate】—Mo Liang's two monsters will be destroyed instantly!"

Mo Liang: …

Mo Liang's mood was not good.

He had an urge to end the Duel right now and pull out the Millennium Ring again.

【Lava Golem】, 【BrainwashingLiberation】, 【Sacrificial Demon】, 【Brainwash】—this guy doesn't even plan to use a single card of his own, does he?

You Tian: "Hehe~ Attack phase begins!"

"I will use Niklophilia to attack your 【Shadow Duplicate】…"

"Eh~ Little Mo, at this point you can activate 【Soul Resonance】's effect to reduce 【Shadow Duplicate】's Attack Power to 0, thus saving Niklophilia."

"Will you activate it or not?"

Mo Liang: …

"Do you think I'm stupid? I only have 700 Life Points left—if I activate it, I lose immediately! Of course I won't activate it!"

You Tian: "Then there's nothing I can do~ Everyone saw it—he didn't want to save his own monster, it has nothing to do with me!"

Everyone: …

Niklophilia and Mo Liang's copy simultaneously began gathering black spectral energy, then…

Boom! Boom! Both monsters turned to black smoke at once.

"Hmph!" Mo Liang glared coldly at You Tian.

Doesn't matter—Niklophilia has a special effect.

When this monster is destroyed by you, it steals one face-up monster of yours during the End Phase.

Hmph! You've been stealing my monsters all game—now it's my turn to enjoy the joy of being a Niu Tounren!

Even though the 【Giant Rat】's Attack Power was reduced to 0 by 【Soul Resonance】, it's still your only monster.

Mo Liang's gaze dropped to his hand.

Plus, I have a Level 6 【Hades, King of the Underworld】 in my hand. After stealing the 【Giant Rat】 this turn, next turn I can perform a Level-Up Summon—then it'll be your end! Hahahaha!

Just as Mo Liang was thinking this, he saw You Tian pull another Quick-Play Magic Card from his hand.

"I activate a Quick-Play Magic Card from my hand: 【Monster Recovery】."

"This card allows me to return one monster originally owned by me on my field, along with a card from my hand, to my deck, then draw the same number of cards as I returned."

Mo Liang: …

Mo Liang's expression turned grim.

【Monster Recovery】 activated successfully; You Tian successfully drew three new cards.

You Tian: "Not bad~ At least better than 【Mask of the Last Words】."

"I place one monster in Defense Position, Set one card, end my turn."

Mo Liang stared darkly at You Tian's Set monster.

This bastard knows Niklophilia's effect.

A monster in Defense Position cannot be controlled by Niklophilia!

You Tian: Huh? What's that expression, Great Evil God?

Does he think I don't know Niklophilia's effect?

Tsk tsk tsk—I told you to focus more on playing cards. Playing Niu Tounren in front of me? That's like stripping naked in front of a pervert.
