Chapter 58: Die Together

【Die Together】 can be activated when both players have three or more cards in hand; at that time, both players must return their entire hand to the bottom of their deck.

By using this card, you can shuffle his 【Lava Golem】 back into his deck.

Moreover, Mo Liang stared coldly at You Tian.

I've already collected 【D】【E】【A】; I'll send him into darkness any moment now, yet this guy isn't afraid at all.

It seems he has a card like 【Tornado】 that can destroy spells and traps.

But unfortunately…

"This great lord will Set one card."

Mo Liang's gaze dropped to his own hand.

I only have two cards left—enough to activate 【Die Together】—so then…

"Hmph! This great lord will flip over another Set card: Continuous Trap 【Death Declaration】."

You Tian's eyes sharpened slightly.

Mo Liang: "This card allows me to return to my hand any Demon-type monster in my Graveyard, based on the number of 【Spiritual Disc】 and 【Death Message】 cards on my field."

Mo Liang pointed to his Spell/Trap Zone.

"Now, I have one 【Spiritual Disc】 and two 【Death Message】 cards on my field—that means…"

Shh~

He placed his finger on the Graveyard of his Duel Disk and removed three cards from it.

"I can return three monsters to my hand. And the ones I'm returning are…"

Mo Liang held up the three 【Giant Virus】 cards he had just retrieved from the Graveyard toward You Tian and the others.

"These three 【Giant Virus】 cards! Hahaha!"

Isis furrowed her delicate brows.

"Now Mo Liang can use 【Giant Virus】 again to reduce Mr. You Tian's Life Points."

"Hahaha, exactly right!" Mo Liang laughed loudly.

And my 【Death Declaration】 has an additional effect: when my next turn comes, I can send 【Death Declaration】 to the Graveyard to place my final 【Death Message】 onto the field…

Mo Liang glared at You Tian with a hostile expression.

In other words, you have only one turn left.

"This great lord will Summon another 【Giant Virus】 in Attack Position!"

【Attack Power: 1000】

"End of turn!"

Looking at Mo Liang's newly activated 【Death Declaration】, You Tian rubbed his chin.

I remember this card—it can actively pull a 【Death Message】 into play.

Sss~ The Great Evil God is so sneaky—he didn't even explain the effect text himself!

I planned to let him build another turn of 【Spiritual Disc】 and clog his own space, but now it's clear I can't wait—I must destroy 【Spiritual Disc】 this turn.

"My turn, Draw Phase."

But at that moment, Mo Liang flipped over his Set card.

"Fell for it! Flip Trap Card: 【Die Together】!"

"Both players must return their entire hand to the bottom of their deck, then draw five cards each!"

"Hmph! You Tian, you're so confident—you must have a card that destroys 【Spiritual Disc】! But sorry, I'm sending that card and your 【Lava Golem】 right back to your deck! Ahahaha!"

Upon hearing this, Malik and Isis both turned pale.

You Tian also froze for a moment.

【Die Together】 effect resolves: Mo Liang returned three cards from hand to his deck, You Tian returned four. Both then drew five cards.

Mo Liang: "After activating 【Die Together】, I lose 100 Life Points for each card returned to my deck by this effect."

【Mo Liang LP: 4000→3300】

(PS: In the anime, 【Die Together】 causes loss of 100 LP per card returned; in official cards, it's 300 LP per card.)

Hehe! Let it end soon, You Tian—once you say "End," I win!!

"Hehe!" But unexpectedly, You Tian let out a cold laugh.

"Mo Liang, you're right—I'm not afraid of 【Spiritual Disc】 because I do have a card that destroys spells and traps."

Mo Liang's lips curled.

"Hmph! I knew it! But unfortunately…"

"But…" You Tian cut him off.

"That card isn't in my hand."

Mo Liang:?

You Tian's lips curved slightly.

"Flip Set Card: 【Bird of Prey's Feather Sweep】!"

"Nani!" Mo Liang cried out in shock.

"It's 【Bird of Prey's Feather Sweep】!"

"Hehe~" You Tian looked at the Great Evil God with mocking amusement. "This card destroys all your Spells and Traps on the field."

Mo Liang looked up in horror.

How? This card should've been Set by You Tian on his first turn, before I activated 【Spiritual Disc】. Does that mean… from the very beginning, You Tian saw through my strategy?

Bam! Bam! Bam!

Mo Liang's shock did not stop 【Bird of Prey's Feather Sweep】 from activating.

His field's 【Spiritual Disc】, 【Death Message】, 【Death Declaration】, and 【Dark Sanctuary】 were all destroyed at once and sent to the Graveyard.

"Perfect! I never expected Mr. You Tian had already laid traps on the field to counter the 【Spiritual Disc】!" Isis exclaimed in delight.

"Now, not only is the 【Spiritual Disc】 gone, but even Mo Liang's 【Dark Sanctuary】 has disappeared!"

Malik was also taken aback.

Could this guy, You Tian, have started setting up his strategy so early?

Wu hu~

Having traded one card for six, You Tian felt a small surge of satisfaction.

No wonder 【Feather Sweep of the Demon Bird】 used to be a banned card—until you use it, you don't realize how satisfying it is for half a year!

Mo Liang glared at You Tian with a grim expression.

"Hmph! Doesn't matter—even if you destroyed the 【Spiritual Disc】, I still have the 【Giant Virus】 on my field, and I can still keep draining your Life Points!"

Hearing this, You Tian smiled broadly.

"Oh? Really? I don't believe you."

"What?" Mo Liang felt a creeping unease.

Then, You Tian began his move.

You Tian: "I will summon this card from my hand in Attack Position—come forth, 【Ten Thousand Hands God】!"

【Attack Power: 1400】

"When 【Ten Thousand Hands God】 is summoned, I can add one Ritual Spell from my Deck to my hand."

Shuu~!

You Tian drew 【Advanced Ritual Art】 from his Deck.

"Next, I will activate 【Advanced Ritual Art】 from my hand—this card allows me to send a Normal Monster from my Deck to the Graveyard to Ritual Summon a Ritual Monster of the same Level from my hand."

As he spoke, You Tian raised a card in his hand.

"I send 【Thousand-Eyed Cult God】 from my Deck to the Graveyard to Ritual Summon, 【Necro Offering】!"

Shuu~

The bizarre-looking 【Necro Offering】 appeared on the field.

"It's 【Necro Offering】!" Mo Liang cried out in shock.

You Tian smiled faintly.

"Hmph~ So you know her too! No need for nonsense—【Necro Offering】's effect activates: I equip your 【Giant Virus】 to 【Necro Offering】!"

"【Necro Offering】 increases its Attack Power by the equipped monster's Attack Power."

As You Tian spoke, 【Necro Offering】 opened its massive maw, and Mo Liang's 【Giant Virus】 was helplessly sucked into its belly.

"Impressive!" Malik exclaimed in admiration.

"Now, the 【Giant Virus】 can no longer summon new 【Giant Virus】 cards from the Deck, nor trigger its damage effect!"

Isis also nodded.

Mo Liang's head began to ache.

First you sacrificed my monsters, now you're outright stealing them?

Does this You Tian have no intention of using his own monsters at all?

"Attack, Mo Liang!"

Suddenly, You Tian's roar snapped Mo Liang back to reality.

You Tian stared at Mo Liang's empty back row and licked his lips.

"I will change 【Giant Rat】 to Attack Position!"

【Giant Rat】 【Attack Power: 1400】

"Go! I will use 【Giant Rat】 to attack your 【Dream Demon's Wraith】!"

【Dream Demon's Wraith】 【Attack Power: 1300】

The rat raised its claws once more.

Bam!

"Ugh!"

【Mo Liang LP: 3300→3200】

"Not over yet! 【Necro Offering】, 【Ten Thousand Hands God】—attack again!"

No sooner had he spoken than You Tian's two monsters surged toward Mo Liang.

Bam! Bam!

【Mo Liang LP: 3200→2200→800】

"Excellent! Mo Liang's Life Points have been drastically reduced!" Isis cried out in delight.

"And his field is completely cleared! Next turn, You Tian only needs to attack once more to win!"

You Tian himself was thoroughly pleased.

Of course—he's always scheming about destroying the world and never pays attention to dueling. How could he possibly play well?

"I end my turn."

"Him him him him him, hahahaha, hahahahahaha!"

But the moment You Tian uttered "end my turn," Mo Liang, reduced to only 800 Life Points, burst into mad laughter.

You Tian:?

Malik, Isis:?

Mo Liang: "Hmph! You Tian, this is merely a temporary advantage."

"The 【Die Together】 I just activated? That's the trump card that turned my defeat into victory!"

You Tian frowned slightly.

"Hmph! Let me show you how I turn this around!"

"My turn—Draw Phase!"

"I activate a Magic Card from my hand—【Déjà Vu】!"

"Damn! It's this card!" You Tian exclaimed.
