Jiang Yan, a modern man visiting a historic Jiangnan street, is abruptly pulled into a supernatural collapse of time and memory when the river of history itself falls ill. Armed only with his knowledge of Chinese history and a sharp, pragmatic mind, he must survive hour by hour in a world where the Qing Dynasty’s lost supernatural sects—like the Corpse-Dissolution Royal Court—have returned, fueled by the sickness of collective memory. As he navigates streets haunted by reanimated historical beasts and cryptic figures in pre-Qin robes, Jiang Yan begins to suspect he was chosen for a reason—and that his own past may be entangled with the disease consuming history. With each passing moment, reality grows more unstable, and the line between scholar and survivor blurs.
