Chapter 1777: They Are Such a Nuisance Here
Fu Yan Cheng returned just in time for dinner.
Gu Xiaomi was still in her morning sickness phase, so the couple did not eat with the rest of the family.
At the dinner table, Fu Yan Cheng said, "Tomorrow after I take you to the school for registration, let's go check out the nursery together. If you are satisfied, I will find someone to handle the paperwork."
Liu Chuxue was delighted: "If I had known you had connections, I wouldn't have been in such a hurry; I worried for nothing all afternoon."
Fu Yan Cheng quickly soothed her: "It's my fault. I was supposed to tell you, but I forgot once I got busy."
Liu Chuxue was curious: "Who did you find?"
Fu Yan Cheng did not hide it from her: "The government-run nurseries and kindergartens here only accept children of employees from their own units. Of course, there are exceptions; there are always connections, aren't there?
The person I found this time is my grandfather's former subordinate. He currently holds a deputy position at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Leaders like him always have some flexible quotas. However, since our family needs three at once, the quotas he had were not enough, so he helped find another one.
Hearing this, Liu Chuxue said, "We can't let them work for nothing. I'll prepare some gifts later. We'll go visit them tomorrow. This matter truly couldn't have been done without them."
Fu Yan Cheng thought for a moment: "Fine, but let's go in the evening. He might not be home during the day."
Liu Chuxue naturally had no objections.
In the evening, Fu Yan Cheng wanted to rest early with his wife, so he told the triplets, "Hurry up and wash. Tomorrow you will go to school on time just like Mom and Brother Wei Wenbin, so you must go to bed early tonight."
The three little ones were obedient; he took his two sons to wash, while Liu Chuxue took their daughter to wash.
However, after the three little ones changed their clothes, they refused to go back to their own room no matter what, making a fuss and insisting on sleeping with Mom.
Fu Yan Cheng tried every trick in the book but could not persuade them to leave, so he had to compromise.
Liu Chuxue told three short stories before the three little ones finally fell asleep.
Seeing they were all fast asleep, Fu Yan Cheng reached out and picked up Fu Bao, who was closest to him.
Liu Chuxue looked up at him: "What are you doing?"
Fu Yan Cheng's lips curled up: "Naturally, to take them back to their own room to sleep. Otherwise, the crowding means neither of us will rest well, and you have to go to school tomorrow."
He said it with a straight face, but the smile on his lips betrayed his true thoughts.
Liu Chuxue gave him a huge eye roll.
After sending all three little ones back to their room, Fu Yan Cheng returned, efficiently closed the door, and got into bed: "Wife, did you miss me?"
Liu Chuxue slapped his outstretched arm in annoyance: "Is that how a father acts?"
Fu Yan Cheng did not answer but pulled his wife tightly into his arms: "They are such a nuisance here."
Liu Chuxue was about to argue back when her mouth was covered: "Wife, since you left, I really haven't adjusted. I dare not stay at the family compound every day; otherwise, missing you even more would keep me awake."
Liu Chuxue knew this was not just sweet talk; the fellow was likely truly struggling to adjust: "Then what should we do?"
While his hands roamed up and down, Fu Yan Cheng whispered in Liu Chuxue's ear: "Wife, will you go back every weekend?"
Liu Chuxue was somewhat unwilling: "It's not just me; it's too troublesome to bring the children back and forth."
Fu Yan Cheng, breathing heavily, said, "As long as I have time, I will come to pick you up and bring you back on Monday morning."
Liu Chuxue did not expect the man to say such a thing: "Won't that be too tiring for you?"
Fu Yan Cheng pleaded: "I don't mind the fatigue or the trouble; I just need you to agree."
