Chapter 1003 - 1011: Grandfather Visits the Set
"Grandfather!"
Jane Sampson tossed her mobile phone to Coco Edwards and ran towards Old Sir, "It’s so hot at midday, why did you come here?"
"There’s a term for it, visiting the set." Old Master Black laughed, then said, "The Great General is also here, in the back. The driver is holding him, but I couldn’t wait and came in first."
As if to make his presence known, the Great General, from afar, excitedly barked repeatedly and sprinted all the way, with the driver struggling tremendously to hold onto him.
Jane ran over, took the dog leash from the driver’s mobile phone, and seeing the Great General trying to pounce on her, she quickly stepped back and said, "You’re not allowed to stand up, okay? You’ll ruin my clothes. If you do, I’ll deduct it from your pocket money, and you won’t have any snacks."
The Great General, as if he understood, gave a whimpering bark and instead started wagging his tail excessively around Jane.
Jane led the Great General back to Old Master Black and asked again, "Grandfather, what made you suddenly want to visit the set today?"
"Just wanted to check on you. Yesterday’s news had us quite scared." Old Master Black said, "I asked James, and he said you were fine, so I didn’t call you again. Anyway, you two always stick together, even if something was wrong, you wouldn’t say. I don’t know where you learned that—reporting only the good news and not the bad. I had to come and see for myself, just to be sure."
"I’m really fine, not a scratch on me." Jane jumped and twirled in front of Old Master Black, saying, "Look, I’m all good. If I were injured, would I be at the film set? I’d definitely be in the hospital."
The Great General saw Jane spinning and thought she was playing with him. He also stood on his hind legs, imitated Jane’s actions, and hopped in a circle. After completing the circle, he barked at Jane, seemingly seeking praise.
Old Master Black laughed so hard his eyes nearly disappeared. The duo, one human and one dog, acting spoiled, looked quite alike.
"Great General, mimic me again, and I’ll punch you!" Jane waved her fist at the Great General, who naively barked, probably thinking she had hidden snacks in her fist.
"Grandfather, have you eaten lunch at this time? James picked a lot of wild fruits for me yesterday in the mountain village. I still have some, do you want to eat some?" After asking Old Master Black, Jane playfully asked the driver, "How about you? Want some? They’re really sweet!"
"My goodness, he was so busy yesterday, and he still thought to pick wild fruits for you?" Old Master Black was amazed, "Aren’t you annoyed by him?"
Now that he saw Jane really was fine, Old Master Black’s worries disappeared, giving him the mood to tease her a bit.
"Occasionally, I still find him annoying." Jane mischievously giggled, then dragged the Great General back to grab the wild fruits from her purse. She gave one to Old Master Black, one to the clearly shaking-his-head driver, and was about to absentmindedly bring one to her own mouth. Just then, she met the Great General’s longing gaze and abruptly changed course, bringing it to the Great General’s mouth instead.
Seeing that it was Jane’s family, Coco Edwards came over and greeted Old Master Black, which was the polite thing to do as the younger generation.
"This is my assistant, Coco Edwards." Jane introduced, "This is my and my husband’s grandfather."
