Chapter 1061 - 1069: Sharpshooter
He couldn’t deny that those were the snacks prepared for her.
Jane Sampson directly wrapped her arms around James Black’s waist, her smile radiant as the spring sunlight, "James, you are really sweet~"
James arched his eyebrows, pressed his palm on her head, and chuckled softly.
Is that really all it takes to make you happy?
She’s easy to please.
Like a cat, Jane nuzzled in James’s arms. If her mobile phone hadn’t rung, she wouldn’t have wanted to leave his embrace at all.
The call was from an unknown number.
Jane didn’t think much of it and answered the call.
She had thought it was just another annoying call from an insurance or investment company, but to her surprise, it was Mona Calm.
"Sister Jane, I’m begging you, can you give me a way out? Sister Jane, please, I was wrong, I truly realize my mistake now."
As soon as the call was answered, Mona’s hoarse crying voice came through, pleading bitterly.
Jane then remembered that after their last meeting, she had blocked Mona’s number.
So much time had passed, and unexpectedly, Mona had used another number to call her again.
Jane answered the call while leaning in James’s arms, so James naturally heard Mona’s voice clearly. Before Jane could speak, James took the mobile phone, and said coldly, "Dare to call again, and I have plenty of ways to make things worse for you!"
After that, James hung up the phone and promptly blocked the number.
"Mona’s boyfriend going to prison is unavoidable, at least one to two years, or maybe even three to five," James said. "Mona has already been terminated by her company and is banned. You should stop associating with her from now on, don’t even answer her calls."
"Mhm," Jane hummed.
Only after James returned the mobile phone did she lean back in his arms and start browsing Twitter.
But as soon as the page refreshed, a phrase that popped up stunned her.
#SharpshooterJaneSampson#
Seeing those six words left Jane visibly confused.
James had seen it too and couldn’t help but chuckle, his shoulders shaking with laughter.
Jane’s expression was too amusing, and James gently pinched the woman in his arms, "Click it and see."
Jane slapped James’s hand away irritably, already guessing the reason behind this trending topic.
Clicking on it, sure enough, it was because of the trailer of "I’m Not a Celebrity" that was released that morning.
And it was the show’s official Twitter that had stirred up this buzz.
"This afternoon I must study hard. One day, I’ll turn the tables!" Jane fumed. "I knew as soon as this show got released, I’d be laughed at. It’s so annoying!"
"Every shot off-target, yet you scored points – if not you, then who else would we laugh at?" James taunted. "After leading many soldiers for so long, you have the worst marksmanship I’ve ever seen."
Having been teased like this by James, Jane immediately turned her face away angrily.
"I’m not one of your soldiers, don’t compare me with them!" Jane puffed, poking James’s arm with her finger, "Your soldiers are good, then go hold them, don’t hold me!"
Saying so, she tried to get out of James’s arms.
But James pressed her back down with a palm.
"Go hold Liam Woody, he’s your capable soldier, he has remarkable marksmanship!" Jane bared her teeth at James, making a fierce face, "Or else go hold Peter Gingery, he’s also your capable soldier."
