Chapter 747: Where Is It?

~4 min read 673 words

Alice watched Li An's fighting figure, her eyes full of admiration and gratitude. She knew that if Li An hadn't arrived in time, she would likely have met a grim fate.

Finally, when the last enemy fell, Li An was also exhausted and gasping for breath. He sheathed his long sword, looked at Alice, and asked, "Where is the Key of Darkness? Where is it?"

Alice's expression became grave. She shook her head and said, "I don't know. The Key of Darkness has always been guarded by me, but recently I discovered it has vanished. I suspect someone stole it."

Hearing this, Li An's heart sank. He knew the disappearance of the Key of Darkness undoubtedly increased the difficulty of the mission. But he also understood that now was not the time for discouragement—they had to find the Key of Darkness and the Key of Light as soon as possible to reseal the Shadow of the Abyss.

"Alice, we must find the Key of Darkness as soon as possible. Do you have any leads?" Li An asked.

Alice thought for a moment and said, "I've heard that the Key of Darkness has some mysterious connection with the Shadow of the Abyss. Perhaps we can start by following leads on the Shadow of the Abyss."

Li An nodded in agreement. He looked at Alice and said, "You rest and recover here first. I'll go to the Temple of Light to inquire about the situation with the Key of Light."

Alice nodded, looking at Li An with gratitude. She knew Li An had already given too much to seal the Shadow of the Abyss. And she, too, was willing to give everything she had for this world, and for Li An.

Li An bid farewell to Alice, his figure flashed, and he left the Abyss of Darkness. He sped along the way and soon arrived at the gates of the Temple of Light. He looked up at the towering temple, and an inexplicable sense of awe welled up within him. He knew the Temple of Light was the most sacred place in this world, and also the key to finding the Key of Light.

Li An straightened his clothes and stepped into the temple. Inside, the temple was resplendent in gold and jade, and a sacred aura washed over him. He passed through a long corridor and arrived at the great hall. He saw a group of temple knights in white gathered in the hall, holding long swords, their gazes like torches, as if ready to fight for the light at any moment.

Li An walked to the center of the hall and declared loudly, "I am Li An. I wish to see your Knight Commander, Lei Kesi."

His voice echoed through the hall, but was quickly surrounded by a group of conservative knights... They looked at Li An, their eyes full of hostility and wariness.

"Li An? You're the one who caused this disaster?" a knight roared angrily.

Li An frowned. He knew these conservative knights had always been hostile toward him, but he hadn't expected them to attack him so directly.

"I caused the disaster? Do you know that I came here precisely to seal the Shadow of the Abyss? And the Key of Light is something I must find," Li An explained calmly.

However, those conservative knights acted as if they hadn't heard. They drew their long swords one after another, pointing them at Li An.

"Enough nonsense with him! He's a running dog of the Shadow of the Abyss! Kill him!" a knight shouted.

Li An's heart gave a jolt. He hadn't expected these conservative knights to be so radical. He took a deep breath, and spiritual energy surged within him as he prepared to face the coming battle.

Just then, a commanding voice rang out: "Hold!"

Everyone looked toward the sound and saw Knight Commander Lei Kesi striding forward. He wore silver armor, held a long sword, his gaze like a torch, as if able to see into people's hearts..
