Chapter 20: Spider-Man Teaser Shocks the Entire Internet!

Leonard is a PhD from the California Institute of Technology; aside from his research, his favorite pastime is reading comics.

As a typical nerd, he and his friends are die-hard fans of both Marvel and DC.

In fact, he had long looked forward to those thrilling comic stories and superheroes with diverse abilities being adapted for the big screen.

As a child, he had fallen in love with the genre after watching the Superman and Batman films.

Unfortunately, the live-action films of the 21st century completely disappointed the fans.

Fans have already reached a consensus:

Hollywood today cannot produce a qualified comic adaptation; it is a huge trap.

Exhausted after a long day, Leonard dragged his weary body back to his rented apartment.

His roommate Howard was nervously playing World of Warcraft.

This game, in open beta in North America for over a year, has swept across the globe with unstoppable momentum.

"Playing Warcraft again? Aren't you tired playing all night every day?"

"You don't get it. Blizzard games are number one in the world; I could play until I'm fifty."

Leonard pouted, sat before the computer, opened a webpage, and aimlessly browsed YouTube videos.

He believed video websites were the future of mainstream entertainment.

"Cats, dogs, dogs, cats again..."

Before YouTube was acquired by Google in its early days, most videos featured cute pets.

"Cats, Spider-Man, cats... Hmm? Spider-Man?"

Seeing Spider-Man's classic red-and-blue suit, Leonard's first thought was fan cosplay.

But upon closer inspection, the video uploader turned out to be the official account of Columbia Pictures!

As everyone knows, the Spider-Man rights are held by Sony, and Columbia is a subsidiary of Sony Entertainment!

Some time ago, the media wildly reported that Sony was rebooting the live-action Spider-Man; he had thought it was a hoax.

Who would have thought it was true! They have even produced a teaser trailer!

The view count has already approached one million, and more and more people are paying attention to this trailer!

With an excited heart, Leonard clicked the play button.

Full-screen playback!

【Sony Entertainment】 【Marvel】

【Produced by Columbia Pictures】

"Not everyone can become a hero."

"My life is destined to no longer be calm."

Accompanied by a magnetic voiceover,

a blond white man in a suit and tie walked into a bank.

Leonard couldn't figure it out; was this the protagonist?

What does this have to do with Spider-Man?

Immediately, the white man actually pulled out a shotgun and fired into the air to rob the bank!

Several masked bandits quickly entered the vault, then fled the bank carrying several large bags.

Several police cars surrounded the bank.

Who would have thought they even had a helicopter!

Until now, Leonard was still completely confused; could this be a trailer for some other action movie?

The next scene made Leonard gasp in shock!

Just as the helicopter was about to carry the robbers to freedom,

the next second,

a massive web spun between two skyscrapers!

It stuck the helicopter firmly in mid-air!

The camera pulled back; against the setting sun, a familiar figure swung past between the buildings!

That familiar red-and-blue color scheme!

Leonard instantly broke out in goosebumps!

【This Winter】

Boom!

Spider-Man's classic face appeared before the lens!

He stood on the edge of a skyscraper, then plunged downward!

【Bringing you a brand-new, shocking experience!】

Whoosh—

Spider-Man fired a web, swinging at the limit just before hitting the ground!

Even through the small computer screen, one could feel the thrill of the wind whistling past the ears!

The shot of Spider-Man weaving between buildings, once only possible in fantasy,

had actually been brought to the silver screen!

【Spider-man! Spider-Man!】

Leonard had unknowingly clenched his fists.

In the footage, Spider-Man stood atop the Empire State Building, clinging to the Stars and Stripes in a familiar superhero pose.

Then, he fired a web toward the camera, swinging directly at the screen!

Black screen.
