Chapter 33: Orion Bronze Saint Cloth

~6 min read 1,043 words

【Hum!】

A similar scene occurred: blinding light flickered, and a bronze Saint Cloth appeared within the glow, still taking the form of a constellation.

It had a helmet, two arms, and a torso—a human silhouette—with the Saint Cloth’s right hand holding a weapon and its left hand holding a shield.

‘What constellation is this? I don’t recognize it.’

Mo En couldn’t identify the Saint Cloth, which was normal—there were so many Saint Cloths and so many versions; aside from a few especially distinctive or particularly cool ones, it was truly hard to remember them all.

The light faded, revealing the Saint Cloth’s true form: a predominantly white Saint Cloth adorned with touches of purple, depicting a human figure raising a weapon and shield.

【Congratulations! The Orion Bronze Saint Cloth has been unlocked!】

The 【Saint Fighter System】 popped up a message, revealing the name of this Saint Cloth.

‘Orion? A ghost Saint Fighter? Isn’t this supposed to be a Silver Saint Cloth?’

Seeing the name Orion, Mo En felt his memory might be flawed, because in his recollection, Orion seemed to be a Silver Saint Cloth—and apparently quite powerful, like a character from one of the theatrical films.

‘This must be another special version.’

Still, though surprised, Mo En quickly accepted this setting.

Mo En wasn’t a die-hard fan of Saint Seiya; forgetting or never having seen certain versions was perfectly normal.

For instance, the first Saint Cloth he obtained—the Pegasus Bronze Saint Cloth—left him with almost no strong impression.

If he pulled out all the different versions of the ‘Pegasus Bronze Saint Cloth,’ he couldn’t even be sure which version appeared in which era.

Since he was still supporting Jellal, Mo En couldn’t suddenly switch Saint Cloths, so he stored the Orion Saint Cloth in the system space for now, planning to try it on later when he had time.

‘Let’s go. We’ll pick up Wendy and take her back to the guild together.’

Supporting Jellal, Mo En felt extremely cheerful—he’d soon go fetch Wendy from Robin Lu and claim the 【Saint Cloth Repair Manual】. It was almost too perfect.

‘Yes, we need to find Wendy quickly!’

Jellal replied, then suddenly realized something, staring at Mo En in shock.

‘Mo En, do Itachi even know where Wendy is?’

‘Of course. I’ve already met Wendy.’

Mo En smiled and explained in detail his arrangement with the old man Robin Lu , without embellishment—he praised the old man’s actions.

Master Makarov listened nearby, nodding repeatedly; clearly, he also approved of Robin Lu ’s conduct. He hadn’t gotten close enough earlier to hear their exact conversation.

‘I see. Now I’m at ease.’

Hearing Mo En’s words, Jellal relaxed—he no longer needed to rush.

‘.’

Seeing Jellal’s reaction, Mo En’s mind stirred. He spoke with suspicion:

‘Jellal, Itachi don’t actually know who Robin Lu is, do Itachi?’

As soon as he asked, Mo En noticed Jellal’s expression turn awkward—as if he’d been caught off guard.

‘I had no choice. The Anima was far too dangerous. I couldn’t even guarantee my own safety, let alone bring Wendy along.’

‘So I entrusted her to that old man. Fortunately, I chose well—he’s truly a good person.’

Jellal explained helplessly; he’d been forced into that decision.

Though he knew it carried some risk, at least it was safer than having her follow him.

‘That’s true enough.’

Mo En nodded. Without his and Master Makarov’s help, Jellal might not have held out.

After Jellal regained some strength, the three—old man and two youths—slowly made their way toward Robin Lu ’s dilapidated village.

When they arrived, the sky was thick with stars, night blanketing the land, the entire village shrouded in darkness.

‘Itachi actually found it.’

In the night, the aged Robin Lu stood alone at the village entrance, hunched over, his expression one of surprise.

‘That’s right—not only did I find it, I’ve already invited Jellal into the guild. Old man, Itachi’ve got nothing to say now, right?’

Mo En walked toward Robin Lu , joking with the old man.

He could tell this elder carried a story—otherwise, a warrior of such strength wouldn’t be alone guarding such a ruined village.

‘Itachi’re lucky, kid.’

Robin Lu shook his head with a helpless smile.

‘Where’s Wendy?’

Mo En glanced around but saw no sign of Wendy.

‘She’s asleep. The girl kept waiting for Itachi to return, but she couldn’t stay awake any longer—she dozed off half-asleep.’

Speaking of Wendy, Robin Lu ’s expression softened into warmth. Though they’d only spent a short time together, he’d clearly been won over by the sweet child.

‘Thank Itachi for taking care of Wendy, old man.’

Jellal stepped forward and bowed deeply to Robin Lu , sincerely grateful—he was relieved that this elder was a good man, ensuring his desperate gamble hadn’t failed.

‘No need to thank me. I simply couldn’t refuse such a sincere child’s plea.’

Robin Lu smiled at Jellal.

His words embarrassed Jellal—perhaps, in his desperation then, he had indeed shown genuine sincerity.

‘Stay here for the night. Itachi all look exhausted.’

Looking at Jellal’s obvious fatigue, Robin Lu suggested. Master Makarov and Mo En appeared fine, but Jellal was visibly worn out.

‘That’s fine. We’ll take your hospitality.’

Master Makarov replied, deciding for Mo En and Jellal.

Studying the old man before him, Master Makarov narrowed his eyes. He had to admit: this elder was profoundly mysterious. The terrifying magical power and techniques had surprised even him—those were independent sentient thought-forms!

‘Please, come in. Though I haven’t hosted guests in a long time, I cleaned the village today. It’s rough, but Itachi can manage a night.’

Robin Lu smiled. Meeting Jellal, Wendy, and Mo En had brought unexpected color to his lonely, endless life—he’d even tidied up the village, though he’d merely directed the thought-forms to do it.

Under Robin Lu ’s guidance, Mo En, Jellal, and Master Makarov entered a room, each with their own bed.

The room’s layout resembled a dormitory.

Lying on the beds, all three fell asleep quickly. Mo En didn’t test the Orion Bronze Saint Cloth—he drifted into dreams just as fast.

The night passed without incident, until the sun rose as usual.
