Chapter 230

"He must ensure that he is absolutely impartial!"

"Therefore, he is also a very lonely person."

……

【Supernatural Chat Group】

【Lynette: No wonder I always felt that the Chief Justice had a strange sense of distance from others, so that's why!】

【Lyney: My sister's intuition was indeed right!】

【Jean: For the sake of legal justice, rejecting all communication, it is truly admirable!】

【Alhaitham: Rationally speaking, the biggest taboo in law and judgment is being influenced by personal emotions. This personality is indeed the most suitable for being the Chief Justice!】

【Sigewinne: Neuvillette-sama has really worked hard!】

【Yanfei: That is the logic, but law also involves human feelings! And absolute justice is too hard to achieve.】

【Clorinde: Fontaine's trials are judged by Neuvillette-sama and the Oratrice Mecanique d'Analyse Cardinale together.】

【Clorinde: So far, there hasn't been a single miscarriage of justice!】

【Paimon: Then… what is that stapler thing?】

【Furina: It's the Oratrice Mecanique d'Analyse Cardinale! It is used to assist in trials. Interested? Then come to Fontaine to experience it!】

【Paimon: Uh, let's forget about that……】

【Neuvillette: I will do my best to handle every trial well!】

……

Villa.

Following Luo Chen smiled and continued.

"With such a general statement, you might not be able to feel it."

"But it doesn't matter!"

"I will tell you a real classic case from the past!"

"After I finish, you should understand after watching a video."

Hearing this, many people became interested.

What kind of trial case could make the light screen consider it classic?

You know, the last classic one was the Dance of the White Heron by the eldest lady of the Kamisato Clan!

Thinking of this, Yanfei, Ningguang, and other people related to the law immediately adopted a serious posture.

…

Fontaine, Palais Mermonia.

"Classic case!"

Neuvillette was thoughtful.

Could it be… that case?

That's it!

Only that trial could be called classic!

But after being mentioned by the light screen, the images of his two former good subordinates surfaced in his mind again.

In the end, he had failed them……

……

Villa.

Following Luo Chen didn't speak immediately, but first organized his thoughts.

After clearing his head, he took a sip of water.

Feeling ready, he finally spoke.

"The cause of the matter dates back more than four hundred years."

"At that time, Neuvillette had just accepted the invitation to come to Fontaine to serve as Chief Justice."

"And at the same time, he also brought another creature to Fontaine—Melusines!"

"Melusines are creatures born from the body of Elinas, living in Merusea Village."

"Although Elinas, like Durin, brought disaster to various nations."

"But Melusines are beautiful creatures."

"They love humans and yearn to live in peace with them."

"Plus, the Melusine race has unique vision and hearing, and can see bloodstains at crime scenes."

"Therefore, they joined Fontaine's criminal investigation agency—the Marechaussee Phantom!"

Speaking of this, Following Luo Chen put a few pictures of Melusines in the live broadcast room.

Their cute appearance instantly struck the hearts of many girls.

Even many men thought they were nice.

Ahem, in a serious sense……

Following Luo Chen didn't stop and continued.

"However, things were not as beautiful as the Melusines imagined."

"Their arrival was met with extreme rejection by the people of Fontaine."

"These Fontaine people thought, how could two completely different races live together?"

"Even, they questioned whether Neuvillette and the Melusines had some kind of interest exchange!"

…

Hearing this, the people in the 【Supernatural Chat Group】 immediately started discussing.

【Lumine: Why reject the Melusines? They are so cute!】

【Paimon: Exactly! Beautiful things deserve to be treated well by everyone!】

【Klee: Not allowed to bully Melusine sisters, Klee wants to protect the sisters!】

【Sigewinne: Thank you all~！】

【Alhaitham: Holding a suspicious and cautious attitude toward other races is human nature.】

【Yae Miko: That's right~ Don't look at how different races live in Inazuma now, but that was also achieved after a long period of integration.】

【Ei: And it even paid a huge price.】

【Wriothesley: They rejected not only the Melusines, but also Neuvillette!】

【Diluc: The arrival of new forces caused some old forces to lose their interests.】

【Albedo: Besides that, perhaps it also has to do with the origin of the Melusines……】

【Venti: If Elinas was the same as the Black Dragon Durin, then that makes sense.】

【Kamisato Ayaka: Did they do something?】

【Jean: During the disaster five hundred years ago, Durin attacked Mondstadt. In the end, Dvalin stood up.】

【Jean: Although it was finally killed on Dragonspine, Dvalin was also eroded until it became Stormterror. It only returned to normal recently.】

【Nilou: So that's how it is! Then why did such friendly creatures like Melusines come into being?】

【Albedo: Perhaps they went through some changes.】

【……】

……

Villa.

At this time, Following Luo Chen continued to tell the story.

"Perhaps many people in Fontaine now might be very confused."

"Neuvillette and the Melusines are clearly such good people!"

"One is the Chief Justice, enforcing the law impartially!"

"The other is kind-hearted and often happy to help others!"

"Then why aren't they accepted?"

"But you must know, this is the result of their more than four hundred years of effort!"

"But Fontaine at that time was completely different!"

"Setting aside the inherent nature of humans to be wary of other races."

"First! At that time, the entire Teyvat continent had just gone through the pain brought by the Khaenri'ah disaster!"
