Chapter 63
"What a pity, lack the chance to act."
Dali
Hogwarts forbids fighting, and Ma Er Fu's father Lucius indeed has a very strong background; the last time he got away unscathed, but if it happens again it would probably be difficult.
There's no need to beat this guy and cause so much trouble.
Harry and Ron got angry and exchanged a few words with Ma Er Fu, while Dali didn't join in.
"Huoqi has arrived," Hermione reminded.
Hearing the voice, both sides finally fell silent for a moment.
Dali looked a short distance away and saw a woman with short silver hair, her two eyes yellow like an eagle's, looking sharp, and she was very capable.
"All right, what are you still waiting for?" she said sternly, "Everyone stand next to a flying broom, hurry up, make good use of the time; I don't have time to waste on you!"
Everyone acted quickly, each taking a flying broom, and then stood beside it.
This was Dali's first time encountering a flying broom, and he was very interested in this magical item.
"It has been cursed, and some things inside have a spirit."
Dali gave a quick glance at the flying broom in his hand; with Spiritual Sight he could see things that others couldn't.
His broom must be quite old, looking very shabby.
"Extend your right hand and place it above the broom," Huoqi shouted loudly, "then say, 'Rise!'"
"Rise!"
Everyone shouted in unison.
Swish!
Harry's broom beside him immediately sprang up and flew into his hand.
But Dali's broom lazily rolled over, seeming to have no desire to move.
"See, I told you you have talent."
Dali said to Harry.
"I didn't expect it to go so smoothly."
Harry said with surprise.
He looked at the others; basically no one else could do what he did, activating the flying broom successfully on the first try.
Even the constantly bragging Ma Er Fu only succeeded after trying two or three times to get the broom to fly into his hand.
After Ma Er Fu succeeded, he immediately glanced toward Harry, his face showing a hint of pride; upon seeing Harry's success he became a bit sullen, but when he noticed Dali's broom still rolling on the ground he again showed a mocking smile.
Ron also succeeded after a few attempts, whereas Hermione's result was unsatisfactory; no matter how she shouted, the broom just rolled in place, as if completely ignoring her.
"Try again?" Harry said, seeing Dali hadn't succeeded in activating the broom.
"Rise."
Dali said.
However, the broom still didn't cooperate, merely rolling over and then lying flat, refusing to work.
"Hahaha, cleverness in class means nothing; when faced with a lesson that truly requires magical talent, a Muggle-born simply can't match a Pure-blood Wizard."
Ma Er Fu said to the nearby Ke La Bu and Gao Er.
His voice wasn't loud, only a few nearby heard it, but it was just enough for Dali and Harry's side to hear.
The Slytherin students who heard this let out a snicker.
"Talent?"
Dali glanced at the flying broom on the ground.
He didn't know whether his talent was truly the problem, or the broom itself.
"It's okay, Dali, try again, you can definitely do it," Harry comforted.
"You've already done well; a few classmates' brooms haven't moved at all," Ron added immediately.
Hermione glanced at Dali, noticing he hadn't succeeded, and seemed to let out a slight sigh of relief.
"Ah, how did the Roselle Emperor's saying go? Oh right, give face, don't give face!"
Dali thought to himself.
"Rise for me!"
Dali ordered coldly.
This time, he employed Extraordinary Ability, imbuing his command with authority and power.
Swish!
The flying broom leapt up, landing in Dali's trembling hand.
"Hm."
Dali let out a light hum.
It really is give face, don't give face.
"Success!"
Harry and Ron, seeing Dali finally succeed, immediately laughed and congratulated him.
But this scene caught Ma Er Fu's eye, instantly diminishing his sense of superiority; he spat harshly and then ignored Dali's side.
Huoqi was correcting each person's way of shouting, showing how to make the flying broom obey.
After everyone successfully grabbed their flying brooms and mounted them, Huoqi whistled.
"Everyone, pay attention: when I whistle, you will push off with both feet and leave the ground."
"Remember, push off hard!"
"Also, grip the broom tightly; after rising a few feet, lean your body slightly forward, then descend straight down."
"Listen to my whistle, three—two—"
Before Huoqi's whistle ended, Neville, nervous, gave a sudden kick to the ground and flew straight out.
"Oh, my God!"
"Come back! Come back quickly."
Huoqi let out a startled cry, and everyone's eyes turned to the Neville who had flown away.
His speed was too fast; in the blink of an eye he was already dozens of meters up, and still accelerating.
"Aaah…"
Neville let out a terrified scream; his flying broom had completely lost control.
"Kid, control your flying broom, hold on to it."
Huoqi shouted commands at Neville in the sky, but it was of no use.
With the acceleration, Neville was quickly flung off his flying broom.
Boom…
Neville slammed hard onto the ground, curling into a ball.
The flying broom kept soaring higher, heading toward the Forbidden Forest, and soon disappeared.
Everything happened so fast that many hadn't reacted before Neville fell from the height of over ten meters.
Huoqi rushed over to check Neville's injuries.
"Oh, his wrist is broken, but luckily it's not too serious."
Huoqi turned to the crowd and said, "I'll take this kid to the hospital; you put the flying broom back where it belongs, or else be ready to be expelled from Hogwarts."
After speaking, Huoqi supported the pale Neville, limping toward the castle.
Just as they vanished at the Doorway of the castle, Ma Er Fu burst into loud laughter.
"Did you see his face? That big fool, you killed me with laughter!"
Several Slytherin students immediately echoed the laughter.
"Shut up, Ma Er Fu."
Harry couldn't help but retort angrily.
"Hey, protecting that big fool?" Ma Er Fu glared coldly at Harry, then his gaze shifted to a sparkling ball on the ground, and he bent down to pick it up.
