Chapter 78: Magic Stone

~6 min read 1,003 words

"Perhaps we could go to the library and look up some information; being listed alongside Dengbulido, and such an important thing, his name must appear in Magic History," Harry suggested.

"Or we could just ask the teacher directly?" Luoen said.

He didn't want to look through books.

"That won't work; that's too obvious," Harry said.

"Fine, perhaps we could ask Hermione; she loves reading so much, she's most likely seen it. But with her attitude, I really don't want to talk to her; otherwise, Harry, you go ask." Luoen suggested.

"Indeed, that's a method," Harry nodded.

Hermione has read many Magic History books, so she might know about those tedious names.

"However, you have to trust that she won't secretly tattle," Luoen said.

"Probably not," Harry frowned.

Luoen shrugged.

Dali wasn't part of their discussion; he was concentrating, carefully recalling the name.

He was sure he had seen the name somewhere.

Only, it's most likely that he just glanced at it, didn't delve into it or think about it, so no solid memory formed.

But he is an Extraordinary One, especially now that he has become a Law Enforcement Officer, he has extra perception of many things on a supernal level.

"Nico Lemé, Nico Lemé…"

Dali kept calling the name in his mind, his brain racing.

Soon, a vague image appeared before him.

A white‑haired elder, wearing crescent‑shaped glasses, stared deeply at him.

"Professor Dengbulido!"

Dali's expression shifted.

"What Professor Dengbulido?"

Seeing Dali muttering, Luoen and Harry asked puzzledly.

Dali ignored the two.

At that moment, he associated the image of Professor Dengbulido, which must have some special meaning.

"Nico Lemé and Dengbulido are most likely friends; a connection between them is normal, but thinking of him now indicates that the name appears in…"

Suddenly, a flash of lightning seemed to slash through Dali's mind.

Next to the original Dengbulido portrait, a delicate picture frame appeared.

It was a card.

"Chocolate Frog!"

Dali's eyes snapped open.

"What's wrong?"

Harry and Luoen looked at Dali in surprise, completely not understanding what was happening to him.

One moment Professor Dengbulido, the next Chocolate Frog—what does that have to do with Nico Lemé?

"Luoen, I remember you collected many Chocolate Frog cards, right?"

Dali asked.

"Yes, what's the problem?" Luoen asked, puzzled.

"Do you have any Dengbulido ones?" Dali pressed.

"There are several."

"Let's go back to the dorm!"

Dali said nothing more and headed straight for the dormitory.

Not long after, when Luoen took out his collection of Chocolate Frog cards, Dali, quick‑eyed and swift‑handed, pulled out a Dengbulido card from among them.

The card was almost identical to the one in his memory.

Then Dali turned the card over; on the back was an introduction to Dengbulido.

The last few sentences were:

"With partner Nico Lemé, he achieved remarkable results in alchemy."

"Nico Lemé, he actually appeared here!" Luoen said in disbelief.

He has several Dengbulido cards, yet doesn't recall that name ever appearing here.

Harry was also astonished.

The box of Chocolate Frogs he opened on the Hogwarts Express came with a Dengbulido card, and he even read Dengbulido's introduction, but he had no recollection of Nico Lemé at all.

"You're really amazing, Dali—oh no, D Ge! You even remembered that," Luoen exclaimed.

Harry's gaze toward Dali also held a hint of admiration.

It was just a glance, yet he remembered it and could even make the connection; such talent is beyond ordinary people.

But does Dali truly have this ability?

Harry suddenly felt doubtful; the earlier Dali certainly didn't have such ability—when did he become so exceptionally gifted?

"Go to the library and look up this Nico Lemé."

Dali said nothing more.

Now that he knows the name and its link to alchemy, the search becomes much easier; instead of a headless fly rummaging through countless books, Dali has already narrowed the scope to a very small range.

The three headed straight for the library.

"Hey, why are you running so fast?"

Because they were too excited, just as they left the Gryffindor common room, Luoen bumped into Hermione who was about to come in.

"I'm sorry."

Luoen hurriedly replied.

"I have other matters, so I won't talk to you now."

Luoen chased Dali toward the library.

"They won't go cause trouble again, will they?"

Hermione watched the three dash away, her brows slightly furrowed.

After a moment of contemplation, she quietly followed.

"They actually went to the library!?"

When Hermione saw Dali and the others arrive at the library, she widened her eyes in surprise.

If Dali went to the library, that makes sense, but Harry and Luoen, those two are idle, they'd rather play chess in the common room than go to the library.

"Search in the Spellbooks related to alchemy."

Dali said to Luoen and Harry.

"Alright."

The two did not hesitate and immediately began searching in the alchemy Spellbook area.

Dali's gaze also swept over those rows of Spellbooks, and by instinct he casually pulled out a book to glance through.

Rather than reading those long and complicated titles, intuition is more reliable.

"What are they doing?"

"Alchemy?"

"Why are they suddenly interested in alchemy?"

Hermione, standing behind a nearby bookshelf, watched Dali and the others, Doubt what these three are up to again.

Dali actually noticed Hermione following, but he didn't mind; he just wanted to quickly find information on Ni Ke Le Mei.

Suddenly, his eyes narrowed slightly, fixing on a line of text.

"I found it!"

Dali said.

"What?"

Harry and Luoen immediately surrounded him.

"That thing is a Philosopher's Stone! Ni Ke Le Mei is currently the only known creator of a Philosopher's Stone."

"And the only existing Philosopher's Stone belongs to Ni Ke Le Mei!"

Harry and Luoen looked at each other, "Philosopher's Stone, what is that?"

"A Philosopher's Stone can turn any metal into gold, and can also create an elixir of immortality, allowing those who drink it to never die!"

Dali said softly.

"Then, that explains everything!"

Dali's gaze flickered slightly.
