Chapter 77: Reform
At two in the morning, Xiang Fei sat at the desk in his study, a chart of Win Rise Pictures' organizational structure spread out before him.
Under the lamp, his brows were tightly knitted, his fingers tapping lightly on the desktop.
"Too chaotic..."
He murmured to himself, picking up a red pen to draw several circles on the paper.
Since its inception, Win Rise Pictures had developed to a point where departmental functions overlapped severely, resource allocation was uneven, and it was common for several departments to fight over a single project simultaneously.
This was especially true for the Artist Department, where actors and singers were mixed together, and agents fought their own battles, leading to severe internal resource wastage.
Xiang Fei took a deep breath, picked up his fountain pen, and began drafting a reform proposal.
**1. Senior Leadership Structure**
- President: Xiang Xiang Huaqiang (overseeing strategic direction)
- Vice President: Xiang Sheng (responsible for external cooperation and investment)
- General Manager: Lady Xiang (responsible for daily operations and artist management)
2. Business Department Restructuring
- Film and Television Department: responsible for film production and distribution
- Yinyue Force: responsible for records, concerts, and music copyrights
- Artist Department (split into):
- Actor Group (film and television actors)
- Singer Group (singers and bands)
- Director Department: established as an independent unit to liaise directly with film projects
- Publicity Department: integrating marketing, public relations, and media relations
- Editing Department: unified management of post-production
3. New Departments
- Creative Department (directly managed by Xiang Fei):
- Script Group: dedicated screenwriters responsible for original and adapted scripts
- Lyrics and Composition Group: music creation, customizing works for singers
After writing the final stroke, Xiang Fei rubbed his temples and glanced at the time—it was already four in the morning.
He closed the file and let out a long sigh of relief.
"Tomorrow, we'll see their reaction..."
The next morning, in the Win Rise Pictures conference room.
Xiang Xiang Huaqiang sat at the head of the table, Xiang Sheng crossed his legs while playing with a lighter, and Lady Xiang flipped through the documents in her hands.
Xiang Fei walked in, placed the reform proposal on the table, and said, "Uncle Xiang Huaqiang, Uncle Sheng, Auntie, I have something I'd like to discuss with you."
Xiang Xiang Huaqiang looked up. "What matter requires such formality?"
Xiang Fei pushed the document forward. "Win Rise's current structure is too chaotic, resulting in serious resource wastage; I want to conduct a thorough restructuring."
Xiang Sheng raised an eyebrow. "Restructuring? What do you mean?"
Lady Xiang had already opened the file and quickly scanned it, her brows knitting slightly. "Ah Fei, are you planning a major overhaul?"
Xiang Fei nodded. "Yes, it must be done."
After reading the proposal, Xiang Xiang Huaqiang pondered for a moment. "You will directly manage the Creative Department? Does this mean you are stepping down as Executive President?"
Xiang Fei replied, "Yes. Scriptwriting and music composition are the core of film, television, and song; they must be kept firmly in hand. As for stepping down as Executive President, I trust my uncles won't disregard my opinion on this."
Lady Xiang closed the file and looked at Xiang Xiang Huaqiang. "I think we should give it a try; things are indeed too chaotic right now."
Xiang Sheng, however, was displeased. "What about me? What will happen to the people under me?"
Xiang Fei was prepared. "Uncle Sheng, you will continue to be responsible for external cooperation and investment; no one is better suited for that than you."
Xiang Sheng narrowed his eyes. "And the Artist Department? My people are managing that now."
Xiang Fei stated calmly, "The Artist Department must be split; actors belong with actors, singers with singers; they can no longer be mixed together."
Xiang Sheng slammed the table. "No! I don't agree!"
The conference room instantly fell silent.
Xiang Xiang Huaqiang tapped the table. "Ah Sheng, calm down."
Xiang Fei took a deep breath. "Uncle Sheng, do you know that currently, when our singers go act and our actors go sing, the result is that neither side fares well?"
Xiang Sheng snorted. "So what? As long as it makes money!"
Xiang Fei shook his head. "It may earn money in the short term, but in the long run, it will destroy Win Rise's reputation."
Seeing this, Lady Xiang interjected at the right moment. "Ah Sheng, Ah Fei makes a valid point. Look at Shaw Brothers; after they separated their actors and singers, didn't their development improve?"
Xiang Sheng glared. "Which side are you on?"
Lady Xiang responded calmly, "I am on Win Rise's side."
Xiang Xiang Huaqiang finally spoke. "Ah Fei, are you certain this change will improve efficiency?"
Xiang Fei nodded. "Absolutely. Currently, a single project goes through too many unnecessary stages from initiation to release, wasting both time and resources."
Xiang Xiang Huaqiang pondered for a moment, then looked at Xiang Sheng. "Ah Sheng, let Ah Fei give it a try."
Xiang Sheng looked incredulous. "Big Brother! You're just going to let Ah Fei act recklessly?"
Xiang Xiang Huaqiang's tone was firm. "He is not acting recklessly; he is doing this for the future of Win Rise."
Seeing Xiang Xiang Huaqiang's resolute attitude, Xiang Sheng knew he could not change his mind and could only say resentfully, "Fine, you two have the final say!"
Xiang Fei breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank you, Uncle Sheng."
Lady Xiang smiled. "Then how exactly will this be executed?"
Xiang Fei said, "Complete the departmental adjustments and reassign personnel within one week; those unwilling to cooperate..."
Xiang Xiang Huaqiang cut in: "Just walk away."
Xiang Fei nodded: "Right."
Lady Xiang closed the file: "I have no objections; I'll handle the split for the Artist Department myself."
Xiang Xiang Huaqiang stood up: "Then it's settled. Meeting adjourned."
As everyone filed out of the conference room, Xiang Sheng, walking last, suddenly turned to look at Xiang Fei: "Ah Fei, don't disappoint me."
Xiang Fei met his gaze: "Uncle Sheng, I will make Wing Sing the number one in Xiangjiang."
