Chapter 16

For this episode of "Live on Scene."

The anti-prostitution squad under his charge had truly gone to great lengths.

They had tailed suspects and done their groundwork for a full week before making their move.

The prostitution den's gang, ringleaders, those who harboured the offence… every link in the chain, superior and subordinate alike, had been precisely caught by him.

Including the prostitutes and the clients caught on the scene… not a single one missed.

Yet it was precisely this Fang Hao.

Right in front of him, and moreover in front of the camera.

Who swaggered out of the room where he had just finished the deed.

And in the end, with a series of words, left him completely unable to do anything about Fang Hao.

The reasons given were so convincing that even Officer Zhang Hai himself began to waver.

But how could that be…

This client had been caught red-handed on the spot!

Zhang Hai's expression was complicated.

And his Master, the deputy station chief of the police station, Tian Fu, had also arrived in the office at this moment.

Looking at Zhang Hai's expression, Chief Tian could not help but sigh and offer comfort:

"Xiao Hai, don't get too hung up on every little thing."

"This guy might really just be a pile-up of coincidences…"

"A one-in-a-million chance is small, but it's not zero — there's still a chance it could happen."

"Maybe you just happened to run into him. Don't overthink it."

"Pull yourself together."

"Don't forget there's a second anti-prostitution operation in an hour, and you're still leading the team."

"The 'Live on Scene' programme is still filming the whole way through. Forget about that kid."

Just as Chief Tian had said.

The "Live on Scene" programme still had its second segment.

This was normal.

Because in order to catch the offenders and the evidence together.

Basically, anti-prostitution raids always began at night or in the dead of night.

And the audience had long been waiting in front of their screens for the second instalment.

Only, what was interesting this time was…

A debate over one particular matter.

Was being argued endlessly in the bullet comments and forums of "Live on Scene."

Namely… whether Fang Hao was actually innocent.

【This guy is definitely up to something, and I feel like he's a repeat offender… his nerves are way too strong!】

【I watched the replay over twenty times, I'm dying laughing… that dumbfounded expression is definitely not an act!】

【The main thing is it's just too much of a coincidence — how many coincidences would it take for him to be caught this absurdly!】

【Seriously, do you guys buy it? Anti-prostitution raid, caught on the spot, no clothes on… and this guy is innocent?】

【It's just fucking ridiculous, but somehow it also seems absurdly grounded…】

【Every single reason he gave has evidence backing it up… and those two cats are the killing blow, I'm dying laughing!】

【Watching the suspect swagger off right before our eyes — Captain Zhang probably won't be sleeping tonight!】

In the bullet comments.

The audience was still debating whether Fang Hao had actually gone through with it.

Whether he'd taken his pants off and done the deed.

And before long.

The programme began once again.

"Hello viewers, we are still here at the team's law enforcement scene in Zhangzhou City."

"Just one hour ago, we had already busted a prostitution den in the south of the city."

"And the location you are all at right now is a secret prostitution den in the north of the city."

"Under the arrangements of the anti-prostitution squad leader, Captain Zhang Hai, all departments have now sealed off every exit at the scene."

"According to the relevant personnel, the ringleaders of the prostitution den are all inside."

"There are also a large number of clients and hostesses inside."

"For the anti-prostitution squad, this will be another big haul!"

The on-site reporter, a young lady, hosted the programme with great enthusiasm.

The camera panned over.

At this moment, the anti-prostitution squad was coordinating the various departments.

As soon as every department was in position, they could set off immediately.

Zhang Hai's expression was sombre.

This time he demanded that everyone be on full alert, and that every room be examined carefully and thoroughly.

Absolutely no slip-ups of any kind were allowed.

"This time, if anyone again swaggered off in front of the camera."

"We'd all have our wages docked, to say the least."

"When you get back, all of you write me written self-criticisms!"

"Remember! The third and fourth floors... examine every single room! Don't miss the bathrooms or storage rooms!"

"Everyone knows how to activate the hidden doors—just kick open any locked door you encounter!"

"Watch every exit closely! No one is allowed to walk out!"

Zhang Hai, lowering his voice, issued orders to each action team.

Because of the last incident.

This time, everyone gave twelve times their usual seriousness.

Finally...

This time, under the eyes of tens of thousands of viewers.

Accompanied by the vice squad captain's cry of "Go!"

Everyone immediately moved in perfect unison.

"Stop!"

"Everyone, put your hands on your heads and stand against the wall!"

"You! Stand over there!"

"Turn off the microphones and communication devices! I'll say it again! Turn off the communication devices!"

"Get down! Everyone, get down!"

"Open the door! Room inspection! Show your ID cards!"

This time, the scale of the brothel was even larger than the last one.

More than forty Young Ladies and over twenty clients were all caught in one sweep.

【So fucking awesome! This operation hit the jackpot!】

【Young Lady... sob sob sob, my Young Lady!】

【Damn! I saw my classmate! So embarrassing!】

【Is my girlfriend's best friend in there? Fuck!?】

【This is insane! Hahaha, the vice squad is on fire!】

The live stream viewers watched this scene.

They couldn't help but cry out in shock, all raising their thumbs.

Until a familiar, pale white body.

Was dragged out of the brothel.

The scene fell silent.
