Chapter 128: The Hand of Anti-Magic

~6 min read 1,133 words

In the undercurrents of Obedi City, Robin realized that relying on a single strategy might not achieve a rapid breakthrough.

He decided to carry out two actions at once: set a trap to lure the snake out and draw Ake Dun into the open; meanwhile, cooperate with Yinhu to obtain more information about the Wizard Council.

"We need to split up," Robin whispered to Ailina and Zhang Bolun. "Ailina, you and I will set the trap to lure Ake Dun. Zhang Bolun, you go contact the Yinhu resistance to gather more intelligence."

Zhang Bolun nodded, his tone carrying a hint of confidence: "Don't worry, I'll find reliable information."

Ailina frowned, her voice tinged with concern: "The risk of setting a trap is too high; we must act cautiously."

Robin said calmly, "I know, but this is our only chance."

He could be so calm, naturally because he had confidence.

The room was equipped with Anti‑Magic devices; once inside, Magic Power flow and potency drop by one third, enough at a critical moment to secure victory.

As long as the intruder isn't a Second Ring Wizard, Robin is fully confident he can control the target.

They placed a fake intelligence document in the mansion's study, implying that Marquis Suonata had already seized the Wizard Council's core plan.

"Ake Dun will definitely be interested in this intel," Robin whispered, "If he shows up, we'll have a chance to capture him."

Ailina nodded, her tone cautious: "But we must be careful; Ake Dun's magic is extremely dangerous."

Robin bowed his head; he publicly claimed to be a Great Knight. In this Anti‑Magic environment, a First Ring Wizard attacked up close by a Great Knight would gain nothing, let alone that another room housed four Great Knights and three Knight Peaks in ambush.

If a fight breaks out here, they will rush in as reinforcements; in this cramped room, even if Ake Dun can fly, he cannot escape.

The two hid in the shadows outside the study, silently awaiting Ake Dun's appearance.

Late at night, Ake Dun indeed slipped out in front of the mansion's study.

A cold glint flickered in his eyes, clearly very interested in the study's intel.

"That old guy Suonata dares to investigate the Council's plans and even teams up with the Knight Academy," Ake Dun muttered, his voice edged with anger.

He swiftly slipped into the study and began leafing through the desk's documents.

Just as he was about to find the crucial intel, Robin and Ailina suddenly appeared, surrounding him.

"Ake Dun, your conspiracy ends here," Robin said coldly, the Sword blade in his hand pointing at Ake Dun's throat.

A flash of surprise crossed Ake Dun's eyes, but he quickly regained composure: "You think this will catch me?"

His hands suddenly swung, and several black energy blades shot from all directions at Robin and Ailina.

Robin swiftly swung his Sword to block; the Sword blade clashed with the energy blades, emitting a harsh metallic screech.

Ake Dun's magic was extremely powerful; each strike carried a corrosive aura, attempting to erode Robin and Ailina's defenses.

Ake Dun's gaze swept the room quickly, soon spotting the irregularity. His face turned iron‑blue, and he shouted angrily, "That old Suonata really teamed up with you, even lending you the Hand of Anti‑Magic!"

Robin gave no reply, but quickly scanned the surroundings. He knew they had to end the fight swiftly, or the mansion's guards would be alerted. Once Ake Dun's line of guards arrived, capturing him would become difficult.

At that moment, three Great Knights from the adjacent room rushed in, quickly encircling Ake Dun.

The other three Knight Peaks went to draw away the incoming guards, buying Robin time.

Ake Dun's gaze swept over the three Great Knights, a sneer flashing: "You think you can stop me?"

Yet, the instant Ake Dun was distracted, Robin erupted, his form appearing before Ake Dun like lightning.

His fist, driven by a fierce gust, surged straight toward Ake Dun's chest.

"Bang!"

The fist slammed into Ake Dun's chest, but an invisible magical shield blocked it.

A faint smile curled Ake Dun's lips, a cold sneer: "You think this can hurt me?"

A flash of coldness crossed Robin's eyes; he stepped back a few paces, widening the gap with Ake Dun.

A First Ring Wizard's magical shield is extremely strong; a regular Great Knight's attack cannot pierce it.

"Hand of Anti‑Magic!" Robin shouted low, his right hand suddenly rising, an ancient Rune materializing in his palm.

The Rune flickered with a faint glow, instantly shattering Ake Dun's magical shield.

Ake Dun's complexion turned pale in an instant, shock flashing in his eyes: "You… how can you wield the Hand of Anti‑Magic?"

Robin gave no answer, but surged forward, punching Ake Dun's chest again.

This time, Ake Dun's magical shield had failed, and the fist struck his chest solidly.

"Puff!"

Ake Dun spat out a mouthful of fresh blood, his body soaring like a kite with its line cut, crashing heavily against the wall.

His eyes filled with disbelief; he clearly hadn't expected Robin to wield the Hand of Anti‑Magic.

This is a tool only Wizards can use; otherwise it can at most be employed to set up devices that weaken Wizards.

Ake Dun struggled to his feet, a trickle of blood spilling from his mouth.

A wild glint entered his gaze; his hands swung violently, and several black energy blades shot from all sides at Robin.

Robin swiftly swung his Sword to block, the Sword blade clashing with the energy blades, emitting a harsh metallic screech.

He flipped in the air, evading Ake Dun's attack, then landed abruptly, his Sword blade pointing at Ake Dun's throat.

"Submit and be captured!" Robin shouted angrily.

Ake Dun tried to resist, but Robin's punch to his face was so powerful it knocked out his teeth, and a follow‑up kick to his head sent him sprawling unconscious.

Ake Dun's body collapsed weakly onto the ground, blood slowly oozing from his mouth and staining the floor crimson.

Robin stared coldly at him, and after confirming Ake Dun had completely lost consciousness, swiftly drew a pair of custom handcuffs from his coat and locked Ake Dun's wrists tightly.

The handcuffs were etched with Anti‑Magic runes, capable of fully sealing a Wizard's Magic Power flow, ensuring Ake Dun could cast no more spells.

"Mission accomplished," Robin whispered, then looked up at Ailina and the three Great Knights, "We must leave quickly; Ake Dun's guards will soon notice the disturbance."

Ailina nodded, quickly rummaging Ake Dun's body for several magical items and a badge bearing the Wizard Council emblem. She handed them to Robin, whispering, "These might be key evidence, perhaps they can help us uncover more of the Wizard Council's secrets."
