Chapter 131: Rebirth Plan 3

~6 min read 1,189 words

Robin and Lina quickly left the interrogation room, hurrying toward the Marquis Sonahta's study. Along the way, Akton's words kept echoing in Robin's mind, and he felt a vague unease.

"Rebirth Plan… what exactly is it?" Robin muttered softly to himself.

Lina glanced at him, her tone tinged with worry: "Robin, we must quickly uncover the details of this plan. Otherwise, Obedi City could truly fall into uncontrollable chaos."

Robin nodded, his gaze firm: "No matter what, we cannot let the Wizard Council's plot succeed. Obedi City's fate must never be in their hands!"

The two quickened their pace toward the Marquis Sonahta's study. Behind them, Akton's cold laugh seemed to still echo in the air.

Inside the Marquis Sonahta's residence, he hurried out of the great hall, with two Legendary Knights following behind.

"There's trouble—riots have broken out in the city, hordes of mobbers are looting, smashing, and setting fires…"

Before the Marquis Sonahta could finish speaking, a blood‑smeared guard ran up.

"Lord Marquis, the mercenaries inside the city have suddenly gathered and are launching a fierce assault on the Lord's manor."

The Marquis Sonahta's complexion turned ashen in an instant; he spun sharply, his gaze slicing the blood‑covered guard, his voice low and authoritative: "Mercenaries? How could they suddenly attack the Lord's manor? Who's commanding them from behind?"

The guard panted heavily, a hint of panic in his voice: "Sir, we don't know! Those mercenaries seemed to have pre‑planned, suddenly massed and charged straight at the manor. Their combat power is immense; our guards can't hold them!"

Robin and Lina exchanged a glance, both feeling an ominous foreboding.

Robin stepped forward swiftly, his voice deep: "Lord Marquis, this must be the Wizard Council's 'Rebirth Plan'! They're trying to create chaos to completely dismantle Obedi City's order!"

The Marquis Sonahta furrowed his brows, a cold glint in his eyes: "Wizard Council… so it's them! It seems Akton's capture was only the beginning; their true counter‑offensive has just started."

Lina clenched the dagger in her hand, her tone edged with urgency: "Lord Marquis, we must act at once! If the manor falls, the entire Obedi City command system will collapse, and the situation will spiral out of control!"

The Marquis Sonahta nodded, issuing orders promptly: "Immediately muster all available troops to reinforce the manor! Also, inform the city garrison to suppress the riots with full force; the chaos must not spread!"

The two Legendary Knights behind him obeyed at once; one said gravely: "Lord Marquis, Rein and I will go support the manor; you stay inside to command the overall situation."

Marquis Sonahta shook his head, his tone firm: "No, I must go to the manor myself. Only I can appear to stabilize the situation. Both of you come with me."

Robin stepped forward, his voice resolute: "Lord Marquis, Lina and I will go as well. The Wizard Council's tactics are treacherous and unpredictable; we must proceed with caution."

Marquis Sonahta glanced at Robin, then nodded: "Fine, you'll move with me. But remember, safety comes first; never act rashly."

Everyone sprang into action; Marquis Sonahta led the two Legendary Knights, Robin, Lina, and a squad of elite guards, racing toward the manor.

Along the way, Obedi City's streets had already descended into chaos.

Mobbers were smashing, looting, and setting fires everywhere; flames leapt skyward, and thick smoke billowed.

Civilians fled in panic, while city garrison soldiers fought hard to suppress the unrest, yet the mob's numbers seemed endless, making the situation extremely dire.

Robin's eyes swept the street, a vague unease rising within him. He whispered to Lina: "These mobbers aren't ordinary civilians; their actions are too organized. Someone must be directing them from behind."

Lina nodded, her tone heavy: "The Wizard Council is indeed cunning; they use mercenaries and mobbers to create chaos, trying to wear us down."

At that moment, a burst of fierce fighting erupted ahead.

Robin looked up and saw a group of mercenaries locked in a brutal clash with the city garrison, both sides trading blows in a terribly savage battle.

A cold glint flashed in the Marquis Sonahta's eyes; he waved his hand, and the guards behind him surged forward, joining the fight.

The two Legendary Knights guarded the Marquis, watching the surroundings vigilantly.

The Legendary Knights could not yet engage; they had to be ready for any wizard who might appear.

Robin and Lina showed no hesitation; Robin drew the Pulley Composite Bow from his back. He didn't fetch his own crafted arrows, but took two Arrow Containers from a nearby guard, then, like a battlefield machine gun, unleashed a continuous stream of Feather Arrows, firing with the efficiency of an entire archer squad, his arrow technique astonishingly precise.

In the mercenary ranks, any suspected commander, once identified, would be dead within ten seconds under Robin's arrows, losing command and causing the mercenaries to falter.

Lina's knight trainees also entered the fray; their movements were extremely swift, quickly slaying dozens of mercenaries.

However, the mercenaries' numbers seemed to keep swelling, and the situation remained far from optimistic.

When they finally reached the manor, the sight before them made everyone gasp in cold shock.

The manor's main gate had already been breached, and hordes of mercenaries were rampaging inside.

The guards inside fought to the death, but clearly could no longer hold.

A flash of fury crossed the Marquis Sonahta's eyes; he drew his Sword with a fierce yank and shouted, "Everyone, follow me inside! We must not let the manor fall into enemy hands!"

The two Legendary Knights surged forward instantly, their power overwhelming, slaying dozens of mercenaries in an instant.

Robin and Lina followed closely, quickly joining the battle.

The combat was extraordinarily fierce, with flashes of blades and swords inside the manor and battle cries shaking the heavens.

Robin and Lina moved in perfect sync, swiftly clearing a path toward the manor's core area.

Just as they were about to break through the mercenaries' line, a cold, ominous voice rang from within the manor: "Marquis Sonahta, you finally arrived."

Everyone looked up to see a man in a black robe standing on the manor's steps, his gaze cold and stern.

In his hand he held a staff studded with a black gem, radiating a heart‑pounding Magic Wave.

"Cres!" a flash of shock crossed the Marquis Sonahta's eyes. "You actually came in person!"

Cres let out a cold laugh, his tone laced with sarcasm: "Sonahta, you thought capturing Akton would stop us? How naive. Today, Obedi City will fall completely under our control!"

Robin's brows tightened, a vague unease stirring within him.

Cres is the supreme head of the Wizard Council's western headquarters, his power unfathomably great.

His appearance meant the situation had completely spiraled out of control.

Their legendary pinnacle knight, Odoum, still had not shown up.

"Cres, your plot will not succeed!" the Marquis Sonahta roared, his Sword pointed straight at Cres.

Cres let out a cold laugh, waved his staff lightly, and a black energy wave instantly surged toward everyone.

The two Legendary Knights rushed forward, shielding the Marquis Sonahta, and took the blow outright.
