Chapter 88: The Capture Begins, A Full-Scale Assembly!

At this very moment.

The white light emitted by the computer screen was reflected on the faces of every expert!

The deafening sound of the explosion echoed incessantly within the Command Room, sounding exceptionally jarring!

If Chu Chen hadn't personally removed the mask from his face, no one would have imagined that the driver was actually him in disguise!

"My god, so he had usurped the identity of that driver..." Shocked, Wang Ruomei spoke slowly.

The next second, as if she had thought of something, she added:

"Does this mean that the night before, when he snuck into the underground garage, it was to do this?"

Zhu Guowei glanced at her and then nodded:

"If nothing goes wrong, that should be the case. The reason he had to destroy the garage's surveillance was likely for this purpose as well, to buy himself more time to better execute his plan. It seems he had premeditated this... but there is one thing I still can't figure out..."

"What is it?" Wang Ruomei asked.

"Since he chose this method to carry out his criminal plan, why go to such great lengths to rob that Arms Transport Vehicle? He even risked friction with the South African military! What was this for? Were those weapons only meant to blow that mountain flat?"

This question from Zhu Guowei left Wang Ruomei stunned, completely unsure of how to answer him.

Just then, Chen Zijin spoke up:

"He likely wanted to destroy that diamond mine."

"Then why would he do that?"

Chen Zijin shook his head: "I don't know, it must be his antisocial personality at work."

At this time, on the surveillance video feed, Chu Chen had already taken Ma Ka Lun hostage and was negotiating something with a Black police officer.

Seeing this scene, Liu Xuemin asked Lin Xu: "Lin, is there any way to know what they said to each other?"

Lin Xu shook his head: "If it were electronic surveillance, perhaps we could use lip-reading to decipher it, but with satellite surveillance, it's basically impossible because the resolution is limited; there's no way to accurately judge their lip movements..."

While he was speaking, Chu Chen had already pulled out a gun, held Ma Ka Lun hostage all the way to the helicopter, and headed north!

With matters having developed to this point, many people thought this case was about to come to an end.

But the scenes that followed took everyone by surprise!

The super diamond rain over the refugee camp!

The astonishing leap at the Chambeshi River!

The surging, torrential charge!

Every time these segments appeared, the five experts present would be dumbfounded; if they hadn't seen it with their own eyes, they never would have dreamed that this case would end in such a way!

A full one hundred tons of diamonds, and he didn't keep a single one for himself?

Even the Century Diamond hadn't moved him!

And all of this precisely confirmed Chen Zijin's previous deduction: his every crime was not for money; he simply wanted to use this method to arouse people's concern for nature!

Watching Chu Chen struggle against the torrent on the screen, Lin Xu murmured: "What challenge is this?"

"It should be Water Spirit!" Chen Zijin said quite affirmatively: "His current location is the Chambeshi River in central-western Africa. Judging by his direction of travel, he is likely heading toward the Congo River. If I'm not mistaken, he intends to challenge the entire length of the Congo River by drifting downstream like this..."

As soon as Chen Zijin finished this sentence, all four experts were stunned!

Previously, when they were doing screening work, they had paid attention to this river!

This river is not only the second-longest river in Africa, but also the mother river with the most complex water conditions on this planet!

Within a basin spanning over 4,000 kilometers, there is a drop of several hundred meters, and groups of waterfalls, large and small, are everywhere!

Even a fish couldn't complete the entire length of the Congo River; how could he complete such a challenge with this small boat?!

What a crazy guy!

"Lin, keep an eye on his movements."

After saying this, Liu Xuemin immediately contacted Zhuang Yan, who was on the plane:

"Zhuang, it's me."

"Teacher Liu, what is it?" On the other end of the phone, Zhuang Yan said, sleepy-eyed.

Judging by her tone, she must have been sleeping.

"We have discovered Chu Chen's exact location."

"Where?" Hearing this, Zhuang Yan became alert instantly.

"He has now fled to the upper reaches of the Congo River, and there are less than 400 kilometers left before he reaches Kisangani."

"The Congo River?" Zhuang Yan asked in confusion.

"That's right. Based on the evidence we have now, his third challenge should be Water Spirit, and the challenge item is to complete the entire length of the Congo River by driving a kayak!"

These few sentences from Liu Xuemin instantly wiped away Zhuang Yan's sleepiness, and she became completely awake!

Driving a kayak to complete the entire length of the Congo River?

The next second, before she could recover from the shock, Liu Xuemin continued:

"We have already notified Team Captain and Captain Chen; they will meet up with the four of you as soon as they land. You all need to maintain contact. As for how to arrange the specific capture work, we will give you a plan after we few have studied it in depth!"

"I will notify the Program Team immediately so they can coordinate with the relevant departments in South Africa to provide you with some convenience in certain matters."

Zhuang Yan: "Understood, I'll wait for your news!"

Liu Xuemin: "That's all for now!"

After ending the call with Zhuang Yan, Liu Xuemin reported the matter immediately, and then launched an in-depth discussion with the four experts regarding this capture operation!

This time, they learned from the lessons of the previous two times!

They decided to set up defenses in the middle and lower reaches of the river and at important nodes first, especially at the Livingstone Waterfall and the Kinshasa estuary!

In addition to this, they would dispatch the remaining police force to track his position in real-time via helicopter; once the target was discovered, they would immediately find a way to capture him!

The flight environment over the Congo River is not that harsh.

Here, every available capture method can be used, especially the Flying Claw and the Explosion-proof Net; they will certainly have their uses!

However, considering that Chu Chen is no ordinary criminal.

Besides this plan, they also had Lin Xu release news on the external web that as long as someone could capture Chu Chen, their Expert Group would, through private crowdfunding, provide 100,000 US dollars as a reward to the winner!

Regardless of region or nationality, this bounty notice is valid long-term!

100,000 US dollars might not count for much to people in developed regions.

But in Africa, this money can already be considered an astronomical figure.

Under a heavy reward, there must be brave men.

This principle is the same everywhere.

And the facts were exactly so; after receiving this news, many locals also participated in this capture operation!

For a time, the entire Congo River basin was fully mobilized, with swords drawn and bows bent!

All spears were pointed at Chu Chen!
