Chapter 5: Fate Angel and the Sun God
Chumen's eyes fell upon the handsome man, and for a moment, he was even a little stunned; he could only say he was a tiny bit better-looking than himself!
"What would happen if a person like this drank a Witch Potion? It's a pity I won't have the chance to see it."
In Chumen's mind, the Sage's Robe had already parsed a piece of information, and he recognized this Angel.
【Angel of Fate: Ouroboros】
It was the only piece of information, and it was even something Chumen already knew.
In the vision granted by Chumen's own Dream Book, this Angel of Fate was shrouded in a thick shadow, and behind that Shadow Curtain was an ocean whose color was hard to describe.
He was favored by an existence of an extremely high level.
"Danger!"
For the first time, Chumen sensed a heavy scent of crisis; the thing behind that shadow could cause a terrifying impact on his existence!
"The threat level is not far from Eternal Sleep!"
"Chaos Sea... Source Quality cannot be touched!" Chumen reached this realization.
The Dream Book seemed to sense Chumen's will and opened on its own, Dream Phosphor spilling out, about to collide with that thick shadow!
"Stop!" At this moment, the figure hidden behind that shadow was about to be reflected in Chumen's eyes.
Under the influence of Chumen's will, the Dream Phosphor turned into colorful butterflies, transforming into extremely brilliant radiance as if a dream had shone into Reality.
Very fortunately, the other party also suppressed that somewhat restless power, not pouring over the seawater that seemed to contain all secrets.
The two did not have a collision that could be counted as Source Quality, but that power still rippled outward.
"Oh no!" Chumen could not foresee such a situation, and he could even already sense a gaze cast upon him.
That gaze carried some ferocity and madness; after all, the Giant Race were not kind-hearted, and since he had caused trouble here, the consequences were imaginable.
"It should be the Goddess of Harvest, Oumibeila." This thought flashed through Chumen's mind.
This was Her kingdom, and the scent of Source Quality created here was naturally sensed by Her; She was casting Her gaze here in the manner of responding to a believer's prayer, and She was not even far from here Herself!
Before Chumen could react, he felt every blade of grass grow hostile toward him; the entire land seemed to have changed, beginning to view him with enmity, to reject him, as if it were to become a grave to bury him.
Even he himself began to undergo strange changes; his hair began to wither, about to fade away like a plant.
Chumen's figure flashed, his entire being becoming Virtualized, decomposing into strands of complex knowledge and transforming into a torrent of information.
"Hey! What are you still dazed for? Let's go!"
Chumen glanced at Ouroboros, who had not yet recovered from the impact of the Chaos Sea's power, and taking the stunned Hermes, he teleported to Ouroboros's side; the three of them began Roaming together, intending to jump into the Spirit World.
Yet, before Chumen and the others—including the Angel—could even step into the Spirit World, their path was blocked by a patch of crazily growing plants.
"Mystery Reproduction, The Emperor's New Clothes!"
In a flash, the hem of Chumen's clothes fluttered, and a robe constructed purely of knowledge, invisible to the eye, draped over Chumen and the others.
They seemed to have disappeared, yet they truly existed, drifting lightly past those plants.
The three of them began Roaming again and entered the Spirit World.
The two Pathways contained within the Ancient One's Glove both enjoyed privileges in the Spirit World, so there was no need to fear Oumibeila. Of course, this battle was entirely an accident and not in the plan, so Chumen decided to withdraw quickly.
Without hesitation, Chumen was about to jump out of the battlefield entirely, but his path was blocked by a patch of decaying Twilight.
Now this was trouble! The Giant King, having sensed the scent of Source Quality, had also cast His gaze here.
As for the gap between a True God and a Sequence 2, one could refer to how the Death Consul of later generations was almost "looked to death" by the Blood Emperor with a single glance.
"If you have the ability, look at me!" Chumen had already roughly determined the level of the Dream Book, so he held it up directly, wanting to let the Giant King take a look, preferably letting the Dream Phosphor fall upon Him!
The Chaos Sea can cause Corruption to the Dragon of Imagination, there's no reason my Dream Book can't!
"Let there be light!"
A clear and magnetic voice rang in Chumen's ear, causing him to lower the Dream Book in his hand.
With a God taking action, he didn't need to trouble himself.
The Sun bloomed in the Astral World at the endless heights, its scorching radiance tearing open the decaying Twilight.
"Roar!" A terrifying roar startled the entire Spirit World.
Yet under that scorching sunlight, the decaying Twilight appeared too crazy and disordered, unable to break through the blockade of the sunlight.
"Let's go!" Chumen looked back and saw a terrifying phantom of a Giant; he held a greatsword and wore tattered armor, his true face unseen, with the dusk of Twilight behind him.
This was the Giant King Ormir!
So this is an Ancient God! Chumen had never thought he would be able to see this one; all of this stemmed from the collision between the Chaos Sea and the Dream Book, which he could not have predicted.
"Could the Dream Book really be some kind of Source Quality? But I've never heard of it!" As Chumen fretted, the Roaming was already complete.
Under artificial guidance and the interference of Ouroboros, who had already awakened, they arrived in a strange kingdom and a strange church.
Before them was a man like the Sun, wearing white clerical robes with a silver cross hanging on his chest.
The first thing Chumen saw were his eyes; they were pure gold, like a miniature sun.
This was naturally the current Sun God, who would be crowned with the word "Ancient" in later generations.
Of course, by now, he might already be calling himself the Creator.
"Who are you." Chumen and the Ancient Sun God spoke at the same time, both of their gazes fixed on each other.
But the next moment, both of them very consciously closed their eyes and turned their heads away.
In that instant, what Chumen saw was that dark ocean that seemed to contain all the secrets of the world, while the Ancient Sun God saw a patch of brilliant Dream Phosphor containing all beautiful wishes.
Both things were worth exploring, but both felt the danger and turned their heads away, cutting off a certain intersection on a mysterious level.
Otherwise, that scene of what felt like a Source Quality conflict would happen again.
"You may call me the Sun God." The Ancient Sun God looked over again, but the sense of exploration was gone, replaced by normalcy.
"My name is Chumen." The jumping phosphorescence in Chumen's eyes also diminished.
"Chumen?" The Ancient Sun God was slightly startled, pronouncing the name in a way that did not belong to this era: "truemen."
"Let there be light?" Chumen said the line the Ancient Sun God had used before.
As expected, the attitude of the Ancient Sun God had undergone some minute changes.
The atmosphere between the two of them also held a subtle, indescribable shift.
Hmm... it was probably for the better.
