Chapter 238: Luo-Slime-Qi
The Magic Array five kilometers away could not be considered Forest Myriad Phenomena; when Luo Qi first saw it, it was a monster of blurred form. Most Mages lacked a sense of humor and would not specially shape a completely materialized shell for themselves, such as Luo Qi's Slime Form.
At first, Luo Qi could not see through the details inside this mass of Chaos. Within a few seconds, thousands of souls conducted a completely violent test on the Magic Array. The Magic Array shook thunderously in the Consciousness World; Luo Qi sensed about a dozen emotions mixed with anger and astonishment. Once the emotions were generated, the oscillation of the Magic Array became even more severe. Luo Qi had assumed he would be immediately attacked in the Mental Domain, but the result was not like that at all.
A dozen or so brains were barely managing to form an array by relying on Magic Contracts. While effective at fulfilling pre-established strategies, they were somewhat uncoordinated when facing a sudden strike and trying to complete a counterattack in real-time.
Luo Qi observed for a moment within a second, guessing that the opponent had likely not accurately estimated his range of ability. They might have thought Luo Qi needed to be closer to touch their physical distance, at least needing Luo Qi to run out of the town. The town was protected by the Mind Mage Society's Barrier, so they dared not advance rashly, but outside the town, they must have certainly deployed Battle Mages waiting to beat him up.
Luo Qi's observation of them ended there; one soul had already traced the form of the target Yajian. Luo Qi's spirit was greatly boosted, and he violently coiled around that Yajian.
He wanted to pry this Yajian out of the entire structure, which inevitably required getting close to this Magic Array composed of Mind Mages. In an instant, complex Magic Contracts rushed toward him, and layers upon layers of complex and exquisite Synchronous Magic structures flashed through Luo Qi's consciousness. Luo Qi's lower-level souls grabbed those structures one after another, analyzing the structural forms within and reverse-engineering the Secret Language of the contracts.
Luo Qi's consciousness power was robust and strong; he almost violently tore open a link of the Magic Contract and grabbed a strand of the edge of the Yajian. He felt that Yajian identify him rapidly and could not help but be terrified.
Luo Qi hesitated for an instant. That Yajian was much more mature than him and quickly awakened from the terror, instead utilizing his hesitation. A wave of burning pain spread through Luo Qi's consciousness. Although Luo Qi's body had not suffered any injury, conversely, if a person were truly being burned but no nerve impulses were transmitted to the brain, then for this person being burned, the pain would not exist. For Luo Qi, he was not burned, but the agony of being in a hellish fire was completely real.
Luo Qi's spirit was screaming, and this pain also shattered the concerns in his heart. He suddenly braced himself, and a vast torrent of consciousness crushed from his end toward the soul on the opposite side. The pain vanished abruptly, and Luo Qi successfully locked onto that Yajian; he pulled him out of the Magic Array by force, as if tearing a monster's arm off alive.
A miniature world was quickly constructed within the Consciousness World. Luo Qi demarcated boundaries, modified the Yajian's thinking speed, and adjusted the time flow within the Barrier to be even faster than that in the Consciousness World. The remaining thousands of souls were still working hard, and Luo Qi pushed open the door at the center of his Barrier.
The lights inside the door were bright, and behind the door was the only materialized embodiment in this void. A man turned around in Luo Qi's own room, looking at him unhurriedly.
Luo Qi had originally thought he would have many things to say, but when he saw that man who was still young and still looked full of charm, he realized he could not say anything at all.
"My god, Luo Qi," the man said lazily in a low voice. He had turned around completely, facing him head-on, and was looking him up and down in the virtual world of consciousness. "Can't you maintain a human form here? Even if not a human body, I thought you would want to choose a Tyrannosaurus rex form?"
Luo Qi did not speak; his Slime Form squeezed through the doorway smoothly, coincidentally bubbling as it did so.
Luo Ruian looked at him cautiously and suspiciously, "What are you now? A puddle of mud? From a psychological perspective, this is truly unhealthy. Son, I think we really need to have a talk about your mental state."
