Chapter 264: Battle of the Aliens (4)

~5 min read 882 words

"Save me," Luo Qi cried out, trembling, even begging in despair, "save me..."

His stomach was bleeding non-stop; if his intestines spilled out, he would be scared out of his wits before he physically breathed his last. The Alien Seal Beast changed its laugh again, a "hee-hee" sound like a little girl's giggle.

Luo Qi felt a sliver of fear that she had learned it here, which would mean he had seen a girl here, and Guan Xinyue could not escape her fate. But in a flash, he realized that was impossible; Guan Xinyue probably couldn't even squeeze out a smile tonight, so it was impossible for anyone to have heard her laugh, and if this thing were to learn it, it certainly wouldn't have been learned today.

The Alien approached Luo Qi like a ghost. He was injured and lying on the ground, and the Queen was leaning close to his face, looking down at him from above.

"Your Majesty the Queen," Luo Qi wheezed and said, "you really stink to high heaven. Can you get a little further away from me? Use a long-range weapon to kill me; I want to die in peace."

Who would have thought that upon hearing this, the Alien Seal Beast would actually look at Luo Qi carefully. Luo Qi was a bit suspicious; he hadn't seriously considered whether it was possible for them to understand human speech, which logically seemed unlikely. But that didn't matter at all. Luo Qi quickly understood what the Queen wanted to do; she was looking him over carefully, just to find the most vulnerable place to inflict harm. When she lifted her long, slender black finger to touch Luo Qi's eye, Luo Qi closed his eyes in terror.

"Tap, tap," the fingertip tapped lightly on Luo Qi's eyeball through his thin eyelid.

"No..." This time Luo Qi murmured it. Great terror truly gripped his heart, and the Seal Beast let out an excited howl. Luo Qi trembled; the Seal Beast could taste the scent secreted by mammals when they were afraid, and it was exceptionally excited. To the Seal Beast, the process of capturing and torturing humans was just like the process of humans taking drugs.

Luo Qi slowed his breathing to alleviate his own fear. He opened his eyes, looked at the Seal Beast, and murmured, "Do you want me to die that much? If you hate me so much, why did you give birth to me? Why didn't you strangle me when I was still an infant?"

No one responded to him.

The Seal Beast's fingertip sliced through his eyelid. He suddenly remembered that one-eyed old captain of Du Zhengyi's. How did he lose his eye? He had handled Seal Beast matters alongside the Venerable, so had he also encountered this Alien Queen who liked to gouge out human eyeballs?

Luo Qi's body trembled uncontrollably. He was about to have his eyeball gouged out. If he could survive, he would have to live his whole life with this deformed, crippled appearance; even the most badass Doctor couldn't make him grow back an eyeball.

A few steps away on the other end, the part of his Copy Consciousness that had separated was not affected by his main body's fear. That part of his consciousness was joyfully deceiving Du Zhengyi, keeping Du Zhengyi steady.

"Help me," Luo Qi murmured. He wasn't pleading to Du Zhengyi; he was speaking to the Seal Beast, speaking to the Ghost behind the Seal Beast.

A miracle happened at the very last moment. The Queen's finger did not pierce into Luo Qi's eye socket. Her hand stopped in that motion; only her hand remained still, while her body shook restlessly, as if resisting something.

Luo Qi wanted to crawl out from under her unsightly posture, but the slightest movement made him break out in a sweat from the pain. He couldn't move at all, so he simply gave up and lay on the ground, shouting, "Give it to me."

The Queen struggled violently; the desire to kill Luo Qi was already boiling within her. She and Luo Qi were like two people on opposite ends of a cliff, using all their strength to fight for the foothold in the middle.

"Dad!" Luo Qi roared, "Or you can just watch through its eyes how your son gets his eyeballs gouged out!"

In the Consciousness World, a silent sigh. A consciousness that had been released as soon as Luo Qi charged at the Seal Beast sighed in the void. He had just used all his strength to temporarily prevent the most powerful Seal Beast from gouging out his son's eyes. He did not have the ability to control the Seal Beast completely on his own; within an consciousness as complex as a human's, there were cunning logical traps everywhere.

"Luo Qi, you bastard," that consciousness whispered. Then, a massive and complex amount of information was thrown over from the void.

Luo Qi was overjoyed. He closed his eyes and lay back, completely at ease. In the world of consciousness, a vast amount of information was transmitted into his brain, down to every single neuron, every synapse and every gully of the Alien's cerebral cortex, and up to all the stories of another life form's entire existence.
