Chapter 258: Flying is not afraid of thunder, digging is not afraid of earthquakes

The underground of the Ancient Castle is intricate and complicated, harder to walk than in the game. However, with the traction of powerful spiritual power, the quicksand here will automatically recede. This is like the sand being endowed with "spirit and wisdom," a scene that made the workers, researchers, and Psychics who followed all marvel.

Clay held a map and roughly figured out the structure of a part of the Ancient Castle above with advanced detectors, so he could move in the correct direction. Having said that, the workers still prepared Escape Ropes. If they got lost, they could return to the second floor at any time through the ropes.

"These ancients are really troublesome, making such a troublesome labyrinth, who is it for? Isn't this where they live! If you accidentally go out to the toilet, I'm afraid you will get lost in your own home!"

Clay complained while looking at the structure diagram detected by the detector.

And there are quicksand pits underfoot sometimes, so you must be careful to go around them, otherwise you will be swallowed. If you fall down accidentally, you will be lost in this ancient labyrinth.

During this period, Xiang Guangtai saw incredible things.

Although he had seen the Ancient Castle in a dream, and even learned part of its ruin style, it was the first time he truly came inside the Ancient Castle. At the end of the solid stone brick walls, in the rooms with exquisite stone pillars, the style of all the walls changed suddenly.

Rather than saying that what was carved on the walls was some kind of pattern, it was more like a giant human figure with hands wrapped around its chest.

【Obtained Craft Style: Ancient Giant Style.】

【Description: A craft style obtained from the depths of the truly glorious Ancient Castle. The giant human figures sealed on the walls are sacrificing to the ancient King of Giants.】

【Effect: Fear +50%, Deterrence +30%, craft items in the giant style can slightly shake people's hearts.】

A city sacrificing to the ancient King of Giants... Regardless, Regigigas seems to have left something in the Ancient Castle, so that the ancients carved the image of the legendary giants on the walls and made them into these very shocking things.

And at this time, a spiritual fluctuation suddenly came from the front not far away. In Xiang Guangtai's perception, there seemed to be some relatively familiar Pokémon active in the darkness.

It's "Sigilyph"!

"Hey. Everyone hide!"

Clay ordered the people around, and whispered to Xiang Guangtai at the same time:

"When clearing the tower on the other side, I also encountered them. These Sigilyph originally lived in the ancient city. After the tower was cleared, they ran to the wild Desert Resort outside."

"If you meet them in the ancient city, they will attack indiscriminately. I suffered a lot at that time!"

"However, they should have fixed patrol routes. As long as this place is cleared and they find that the environment has changed, they will run out, and then it will be fine."

Everyone hid in other rooms, avoiding the patrol routes of the Sigilyph, but there were still other Pokémon quietly peeking in the darkness.

Yamask, Sandile, these are the original inhabitants of the upper layer of the Ancient Castle, and in the depths, it is the territory of Cofagrigus, guarding the treasures left by the ancient kings.

For the exploration of the Ancient Castle, this was just a small episode. The exploration proceeded smoothly, and the ancient spiritual power was gradually rising. It seemed that the deeper they went, the more powerful the power became.

"Count the number of people, no one fell into the quicksand, good, the route survey of this floor is completed... Thank you, little brother!"

The worker beside Clay held the instrument and had been drawing the route since they came in, while exploring the terrain deeper. Now the survey of the third floor was completely completed.

Towards the fourth floor...

【The intrusion from the spiritual aspect has been stopped, you have immunized against the negative state of spiritual power weakening!】

Xiang Guangtai felt the tremor of the spirit, as if the ocean of ancient spirits had been angered, and something was sending out fluctuations from the depths of the Ancient Castle!

"Wait!" Xiang Guangtai stopped everyone from moving forward.

"Ah, what's wrong?" Clay was confused.

"No! Spiritual energy is fluctuating, something is coming from the depths... it's the Sigilyph!"

The Psychic Caitlin also felt the vibration of spiritual power at this time. The Psychic-type Pokémon were returning rapidly, as if they had discovered something terrible and were trying their best to exclude it!

They began to fly randomly on the third floor, quickly discovering Clay and the others who were surveying the floor!

"Wow, discovered!? These guys didn't act according to the patrol route!" Clay reacted extremely quickly. He threw the briefcase in his hand directly, and then took out a Poké Ball from his waist.

Since I've been discovered, I won't act anymore!

Caitlin was surprised: "Want to battle, here?"

Clay: "Of course! Don't say stupid things. Wanting to let wild Pokémon leave, can only be done by battling them to the ground—isn't that common sense! These ancient guards won't reason with you!"

"Go, Excadrill!"

"No, it's just that the ancient spirit seems to be angered, but we didn't do anything!"

The Psychic Caitlin didn't understand. It wasn't that they hadn't cleared other areas of the castle before. Although they could still feel powerful spiritual power, the ancient spirit didn't react to the clearing of modern people...

Could it be that some other Psychic did something?

"Clay, are there any other entrances here? I mean the Ancient Castle." Xiang Guangtai asked Clay.

In the game, the Ancient Castle has only two entrances, one is the entrance with Darmanitan in the east, and the second is the ancient tower standing in the west. These two entrances are part of the ancient city buried underground.

"Ah! Of course there is more than one! The city tower on the west side was also cleared by us before. However, this city is very huge, and we are still in the east and north... wait, you mean, someone else went deep underground like us and angered these guards?"

Clay understood: "But this is impossible! We were troubled by quicksand before, and the guards in the other castle entrances were all released. Now they are all sightseeing spots available for travelers to visit!"

"And although the upper layer was cleared, the lower layer is still in a buried state. Those Sigilyph couldn't possibly drill out of the quicksand to hit tourists."

"No, I think they really can do it." Xiang Guangtai looked at a quicksand in front of him. The quicksand sprayed up like a fountain, and then a large group of Sigilyph rushed out from the quicksand!

"Quicksand is a trap for us, but for these ancient guards, it's a shortcut."

Xiang Guangtai raised his hand!

Mind Purify!

Psychic ability spread out, and all the Sigilyph paused for a moment, they looked at each other, and then looked at Xiang Guangtai.

We are powerful ancient guards!

Eh? You have Psychic ability?

You purified the anger in our hearts!

Well, but we are still ancient guards!

"Hey, your Psychic ability is useless at all!" Clay complained!

Although the Sigilyph suddenly stopped, it seemed to eliminate their anger, but their posture was still ready to attack!

Xiang Guangtai took out the Calyrex doll again, and the Sigilyph stopped again, then continued to attack!

"Hmm, there's no help for it. I don't know what kind of orders the ancient spirit gave them. However, their anger has indeed disappeared. The rest is the problem of the order."

Caitlin: "Right... ancient spirits, those spirits are lingering, ordering them..."

Seeing that it was useless, Xiang Guangtai planned to use the special item obtained in Pinwheel Forest.

However, Clay waved his hand!

Clay: "Ah! I don't understand these things. Could it be that there are ghosts underground here giving orders! I don't want to encounter that kind of magical thing. In order to sleep well tonight... Alright, anyway, Psychic ability is useless, can we start fighting now!"

"Excadrill, use Metal Claw!"

Excadrill, known as "True Earth Dragon," is Clay's initial partner, and also a Pokémon that once accompanied him from the bottom of the valley to his current position, and has a fairly high tacit understanding with Clay. Its strength is also extraordinary!

This Excadrill rushed out at a very fast speed, and the steel-cast forehead directly hit a Sigilyph and sent it flying!

Critical hit!

"Metal Claw!"

Excadrill's double claws lit up with silver light, while the Sigilyph used Psybeam!

A large number of Psybeams were torn apart by Metal Claw, but the number of Sigilyph was huge. At this time, the workers Clay brought played a role!

One Pokémon after another was thrown out: Boldore, Roggenrola, Machop, Timburr, Ducklett, Gurdurr, Tranquill, Swoobat!

The most powerful thing about the workers is the power of the masses. If it is compared to human sea tactics, the worker team of Driftveil City is not afraid of anyone!

This place directly turned into a chaotic battle. Countless moves flew everywhere at the end of the third floor of the Ancient Castle: Psybeam, Flash Cannon, Air Slash, Arm Thrust, Water Gun, Cross Chop, Psychic!

"Woo hahahaha! Right, you guys go find that ancient spirit quickly!" Clay turned to Xiang Guangtai and Caitlin: "These guards are left to us to block. In short, according to your guess, someone must be messing around underground, right!"

"It's really annoying, actually making me so busy tonight. In short, I'll leave it to you!"

"Good, continue, my second Pokémon... Oh right, remember to bring the instrument too. Don't worry, even if it's broken, it doesn't matter, the data is transmitted in real-time!"

Caitlin picked up the measuring instrument, and Xiang Guangtai also nodded to Clay, following the direction where the spiritual wave came, and ran rapidly towards the deeper part. The quicksand on the fourth floor disappeared, and Xiang Guangtai and Caitlin entered the fourth floor.

By this floor, it was pitch black everywhere. The torches in the ancient city were also like having their own will. Speaking of which, one point that Xiang Guangtai originally wanted to complain about very much was that, whether in animation or games, there are always light sources lit up when entering the ruins.

"Torterra, use Flash!"

Torterra landed with a bang, and the Entralink tree on its back began to emit brilliant light, and Caitlin was surprised to see Torterra's appearance: "This Torterra of yours is not an ordinary one."

"Regional form, that's all." Xiang Guangtai answered casually, and then looked at the front illuminated by Flash. On the fourth floor, the vibration of spiritual power was more obvious, and even Caitlin, a Psychic who was not very strong, could feel the anger as if it had been desecrated.

But what Xiang Guangtai felt was another power.

A power hidden in the fourth and fifth floors awakened by the ancient spiritual wave, that is the power of a hidden god from a distant era!

"I'm going to start surveying!"

Caitlin operated the instrument, and soon part of the road on the fourth floor was explored, but following closely, a powerful electromagnetic fluctuation surged along the ground, causing the instrument to fail for a short time.

The ground rumbled, and a huge power was accumulating, ready to erupt at any time!

And at the same time, deep in the fourth floor of the Ancient Castle.

"This fluctuation appeared... power as brilliant and hot as the sun, this power directly leads to the final room, which is the Volcarona hidden in the depths of the Ancient Castle."

"Although I have explored many times, there has never been such a strong result this time. It seems that those ancient spirits are resonating with someone. The 'wave' formed by this resonant power clearly shows us the path forward..."

"As someone who is proficient in history and archaeology, the reason I have stayed in the Ancient Castle for so many years is to wait for this moment. Capture that ancient god, and then offer it to Lord Ghetsis."

Deep in the fourth floor, those Plasma Society members dressed like classical knights, and an old sage in a robe, looked at the signals on the instrument quite excitedly, and the paths shown by those signals.

How deep and how big is the Ancient Castle? How many rooms does it have, how many guards does it have?

Even after studying for several years, it is still impossible to get a definite conclusion. It really makes people wonder what this city was built for.

"Lord Yorgos, detected the second wave!"

The Plasma Society grunt pointed to the ripples appearing on the instrument, and said with some shock that there was another thing!

"Besides Volcarona, there is another powerful power hidden here... wasn't it noticed before?"

"This energy point is very huge, could it be that Volcarona ran out?"

"Divide into two teams, one team goes here... another team, follow me, head to the deepest part of the Ancient Castle!"

Yorgos gave the order, and the elites of the Plasma Society stationed here immediately divided into two batches, and they began to act separately.

And on Xiang Guangtai's side, after witnessing the sky-filled sand and dust stirred up in the depths of the ancient city, what appeared before his eyes was—

It was an orange, muscular ancient god, half of its body floating on the clouds, with a huge dark brown tail that makes the earth fertile!

Landorus! From the expression, it can be seen that this ancient god, who has always disliked fighting and prefers to resolve disputes, is now in a terrible mood! That ancient spirit like a tide was impacting its sanity, causing it to fall into a state of blind rampage!

"Mind Crush."

Xiang Guangtai raised his hand and smashed a Psychic ability over, but the Psychic ability disappeared abruptly before Landorus!

This is not only because the ancient spirit is particularly strong on the fourth floor, but also an important factor...

That is the object that automatically floated around after Landorus appeared. They are—Stealth Rock!

"Blocked."

Although the first attack was blocked, Landorus certainly realized what had happened just now!

Thus, in its rage, it began to attack!

Possessing dual types of Ground and Flying, known as "Flying is not afraid of thunder, digging is not afraid of earthquakes," it is an absolutely powerful Pokémon even in double battles, and it is even hailed as the first Bug King without Bug-type. One of the spokespersons for Intimidate + U-turn, that powerful ground fluctuation is enough to make any Pokémon tremble, but...

Xiang Guangtai took out the Pinwheel Forest Branch.

The ground power of the entire Ancient Castle was condensed, and Torterra provided the power of the Grass-type. At the moment Landorus was preparing to attack!

Biu!

A straight emerald green arrow rose from the ground, directly knocking Landorus down from mid-air!

Caitlin: "Eh? What is that?!"

Xiang Guangtai: "It's a magic wand given by the forest."
