Chapter 1244: You Aliens (2)
Kaierdesi curled the corners of his mouth upward.
"Talk about reason? You Aliens, what qualifications do you have to talk about reason with us?"
He waved his hand.
"Take them all away."
The soldiers immediately stepped forward, attempting to seize Saiweilu.
Saiweilu shoved a soldier away violently and turned to run.
"Run! They're grabbing people!"
The crowd instantly descended into chaos. Dozens of Fengqi followed Saiweilu and ran toward the depths of the mining area.
Kaierdesi frowned.
"Notify headquarters, someone is escaping. Seal off the mining area, don't let a single one get away."
Three hours later, all the escaping Fengqi were captured.
Saiweilu was dragged to the Central Plaza of the mining area and tied to a pillar.
The others who had escaped knelt at the edge of the plaza, shivering.
Heketuo stood before Saiweilu, looking down at him.
"So you're the one leading the trouble?"
Saiweilu raised his head, his three eyes filled with hatred.
"So what if I am? You butchers! Robbers! By what right do you rule us?"
Heketuo laughed.
"By what right? By the right that your government surrendered to us. That is the reason, is that enough?"
Saiweilu spat.
"Bah! Just you wait, one day, we will resist! We will drive you all away!"
Heketuo shook his head.
"That day will never come."
He turned around and said to the thousands of Fengqi gathered in the plaza:
"Look clearly! This person led the trouble and incited rebellion. According to the new law, rebels die!"
He waved his hand.
A soldier stepped forward and raised a Chainsword.
The blade flashed.
Saiweilu's head fell to the ground.
The plaza fell into dead silence.
Heketuo looked around the entire area, his voice like thunder.
"Remember this lesson! Obey, and you live. Resist, and you die! There is no third path!"
He turned and left, leaving behind blood-soaked ground and a silent crowd.
Weilidisi Xing, a Class II resource planet.
The atmosphere of this planet is filled with high concentrations of hydrogen sulfide, the surface temperature remains above sixty degrees year-round, and it is covered in erupting volcanoes and flowing magma.
For the Fengqi, although life here is arduous, it is barely survivable.
The largest mining area on the planet houses about fifty thousand Fengqi miners.
They live in crude dormitories, work twelve hours a day, and mine precious energy ore.
Those who meet their quota can receive enough food and water.
Those who do not only get half rations.
The mining area supervisor is a Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance man named Flavius Aurelian, thirty-five years old.
He manages everything in this mining area, from production plans to disciplinary enforcement, from material distribution to punitive measures.
And the management personnel from the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance all live in specially modified environments, making it easier to supervise these Aliens on this planet.
"What is the output today?"
He asked.
The Adjutant looked at the Data Pad.
"Supervisor, today we reached one hundred and ten percent of the quota. Better than yesterday."
Flavius nodded.
"Which work section achieved this?"
"The third work section. Their foreman is a Fengqi named Waliusi, who used to be a mine manager and understands management very well."
Flavius raised an eyebrow.
"Waliusi? Call him over."
A few minutes later, a middle-aged Fengqi was brought before Flavius.
His three eyes were full of caution and respect.
"Supervisor, did you call for me?"
Flavius looked at him.
"Your output today was good. How did you do it?"
Waliusi lowered his head.
"Reporting to the Supervisor, I used to manage mines back in the Fengqi Star Alliance. I know how to arrange work, how to motivate workers, and how to increase efficiency."
Flavius nodded.
"Very good. From today on, you are the official foreman of the third work section. Complete the quota, and there will be extra rewards. Complete it for three consecutive months, and you can exchange for better living quarters."
A flash of surprise crossed Waliusi's eyes.
"Thank you, Supervisor! I will definitely work hard!"
Flavius waved his hand.
"Go."
After Waliusi left, the Adjutant asked.
"Supervisor, do you trust him just like that?"
Flavius shook his head.
"He knows how to work, so we let him work. If he does well, we give him benefits. If he does poorly, or dares to play tricks, we replace him. There are plenty of Fengqi Aliens; we aren't short of one like him."
The Adjutant nodded.
"Understood."
Evening, mining area cafeteria.
Thousands of exhausted Fengqi stood in line to receive dinner.
Today's rations were a bit better than usual.
Each person got a bowl of meat broth, a piece of white bread, and a small piece of fruit.
Waliusi sat in a corner, eating in Silence.
His treatment was better than ordinary workers; he had a separate small room and better food.
A young Fengqi walked over and sat down beside him.
"Uncle Waliusi, do you... do you really help them work?"
Waliusi looked at him.
"What's wrong?"
"They are the enemy! They are invaders! How can you help them?"
Waliusi remained in Silence for a few seconds.
"Child, do you know what happened to those who ran away today?"
The young man shook his head.
"Dead. All dead."
The young man fell into Silence.
Waliusi sighed.
"Child, I also want to resist. But the result of resisting is death. Once dead, everything is gone. Living, at least there is still a chance."
He stood up and patted the young man's shoulder.
"Work hard and stay alive. Perhaps one day, there will be a chance. But until that day comes, staying alive is the most important thing."
