Chapter 1426: Airdrop onto the Capital Planet of the Zelar Commercial Alliance (2)

~7 min read 1,246 words

The battle ended quickly.

Chakusi kicked the wreckage of the last armored vehicle aside, scanning the Alien soldiers' corpses covering the ground.

Dankesulu shook the blood off his Chainsword, the two exchanged a glance, and they walked toward the warehouse where the Human slaves were being held.

Along the way, the broken corpses of Alien soldiers lay scattered in every direction.

Daowoka stood before a tin house deep within the warehouse area.

He held his Combat Knife in his hand, the blade still dripping with blood.

At his feet lay several Alien soldier corpses, all killed with a single strike.

Before him, the corpse of a Human slave lay on the ground.

It was a middle-aged man, skin and bones, wearing rags.

His eyes were still open, pupils dilated, his body heat fading rapidly; he had died only a short while ago.

Daowoka crouched down and reached out to close the man's eyes.

His massive palm was trembling slightly.

Chakusi walked over.

"Daowoka, how are the hostages inside?"

Daowoka did not look up, saying in a low voice.

"They are locked in the tin house; they are still inside, afraid to come out. This compatriot didn't manage to hold on until we arrived. These damned Aliens!"

Dankesulu walked over, looked at the corpse, and said nothing.

Daowoka stood up.

"If we had been a little earlier, he could have lived."

Chakusi patted his shoulder.

"Daowoka, we saved five thousand people here. Although the death of this compatriot is sorrowful, other compatriots have the chance to see tomorrow's sun. This is our mission: to do our best to save every compatriot we can."

Daowoka was in Silence for a moment.

"I know."

Dankesulu walked to the tin house and pulled the door open.

"Come out, compatriots, it is safe outside. Head south; there will be people there to receive you."

The hostages inside hesitated as they came out. They looked at the Alien corpses on the ground and at the giants in red Power Armor; most of the slaves dared not speak.

A young woman holding a child walked up to Daowoka.

"Thank you... thank you all..."

Daowoka looked at them, his tone softening.

"Head south, do not stop your steps."

The woman nodded and ran toward the south, holding her child.

Seeing there was no danger, the others followed one after another, running south behind the woman.

Chakusi pressed his Communication Device.

"Command Center, this is Team Chakusi reporting. The southeast detention point in Castro District has been cleared. Approximately five thousand compatriots rescued, currently moving south."

A reply came through the Communication Device.

"Received, continue the Task."

Chakusi turned off the Communication Device and pulled up the Holographic Map.

"Next target, 1.2km to the southwest, residential area. There are hostages there, and a large number of Aliens."

Dankesulu said.

"Aliens are Aliens, no matter what kind they are—kill them!"

Daowoka nodded and said.

"Let's go, Captain."

"Understood, move out!"

Meanwhile, on the other side of Castro District, in a luxurious private mansion.

Tetake stood before a floor-to-ceiling window wearing expensive fine clothing, watching the thick smoke rising in the distance.

He was one of the largest slave owners in the Zelar Commercial Alliance, controlling tens of thousands of Human slaves.

At this moment, his commercial empire was collapsing.

"Master, the fleet of the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance has already seized control of the orbit. Ground troops are pushing toward the district. Our security... simply cannot stop those Space Marines of the Xiuluo Holy."

The butler stood behind him, his voice trembling.

Tetake turned around, his expression ferocious as he spoke.

"Do not worry, I still have hostages in my hands; those Blood Angels dare not touch me!"

The butler said.

"Master, the other slave owners have already fled. Perhaps we should also..."

Tetake raised a hand to cut off the rest of the butler's words.

"Go and gather all the Human slaves into the basement. If I cannot live, they shall not live either."

The butler was stunned and spoke up.

"Master, you mean..."

Tetake laughed ferociously.

"If I die, they won't get to live either. Isn't the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance trying to save them? Then let them save nothing but corpses!"

The butler lowered his head.

"Yes, I will go arrange it right away."

Tetake walked back to the window and looked outside.

In the distance, the sound of explosions was getting closer and closer.

He was not afraid of death; having become one of the tycoons of the Zelar Commercial Alliance, he had long since witnessed all kinds of life-and-death scenes. He was not afraid of death, but he did not want to die alone.

In the basement, the Human slaves were driven out of various rooms and shoved together.

They did not know what was happening, only that the gunfire outside had stopped, and then they were locked in here.

A young woman huddled in a corner.

"What are they going to do? Why won't they let us out?"

The young man next to her shook his head.

"I don't know, but it certainly isn't anything good."

Tetake stood at the entrance of the mansion, looking toward the end of the street.

It was empty there, with only burning vehicles and scattered corpses.

He waited for a while, then turned and walked back into the house.

"Close the door, everyone get into the basement! Then activate the Explosive Device in the basement; as soon as I give the word, the device will be triggered! Once those Blood Angels kill everyone outside, they will come here, and before that, I must be prepared."

Tetake walked into the basement, looked at the Human slaves huddled together, and the corners of his mouth curled up slightly.

"You are my final bargaining chip. If the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance wants you to live, they will have to negotiate with me, otherwise, you will die with me!"

The slaves looked at him, their eyes full of fear.

A sound of breaking air came from outside, followed immediately by silence.

Tetake frowned and said.

"What's going on? Is there still someone outside?"

The butler ran out to check, and a moment later, he ran back, his face deathly pale.

"Master... outside... outside..."

Tetake pushed him aside and walked out.

There were several corpses of guards in the courtyard, all killed with a single blow.

He looked up; there was a person in the sky.

Golden Power Armor, with snow-white wings spread behind his back.

He held a Spear in his hand, the tip of which glinted with golden light in the sunlight.

Sanguinius hovered in mid-air, looking down at Tetake.

Tetake's legs were trembling; he had seen images of Sanguinius, but had never seen the real person.

At this moment, the real person was right in front of him, suspended in mid-air, wings spread, Spear pointed at him.

Sanguinius simply hovered there, looking at the Alien before him.

Tetake took a step back.

"You... you are Sanguinius?"

Sanguinius did not answer; he released his psychic perception and detected that many Human compatriots were being held hostage here.

Tetake retreated to the doorway and shouted nervously.

"I have hostages in my hands! Tens of thousands of hostages! If you dare to touch me, they will all die!"

The corners of Sanguinius's mouth curled up slightly.

"Hostages? Are you talking about those people in the basement?"

Tetake's expression changed, and he said in surprise.

"You... how did you know?"
