Chapter 1427: The Fall of the Zelar Commercial Alliance

~8 min read 1,463 words

Tetake stood at the doorway, his back against the doorframe.

His legs were trembling, but he was still fighting for a glimmer of survival.

"Lord Sanguinius, I know you are a Primarch, and I know you can kill me in an instant, but if I die, the bombs in the basement will detonate. Tens of thousands of hostages will be buried with me."

He swallowed a mouthful of saliva and continued.

"You wouldn't want to see such an outcome, would you? So, let me leave, and I guarantee I will not harm those hostages."

Sanguinius hovered in mid-air, his golden Power Armor shimmering under the sunlight, the tip of his Spear condensing with golden psionic light.

He looked at Tetake calmly, without speaking.

Tetake's hands clenched behind his back.

"Did you hear me? I said, let me go, otherwise everyone dies together."

Sanguinius nodded slightly.

"Hmm."

Tetake was stunned, then immediately ecstatic.

"You... you agreed? You really agreed to let me go? You cannot go back on your word..."

Sanguinius interrupted him.

"No, no, no, you misunderstood."

The corners of his mouth lifted slightly, a gentle smile, so gentle it made Tetake's back turn cold.

"I meant that as long as you do not die, this place will not explode, right?"

Tetake did not react in time.

"What?"

Sanguinius said.

"Your bombs are bound to your life, so as long as you do not die, the hostages are safe; there is no need to let you go at all."

Tetake's pupils contracted.

"You..."

Before the words could finish, Sanguinius disappeared from Tetake's field of vision.

The golden afterimage still remained in the air, but he had already reached Tetake.

The speed was so fast that Tetake's eyes could not capture it at all.

The next second, Tetake's feet left the ground, and Sanguinius's right hand gripped his throat, lifting him up.

Tetake's legs kicked wildly in the air, and his hands tried to pry at Sanguinius's fingers, but that hand was like an iron clamp, not moving a single bit.

Sanguinius opened his left hand, and a golden Psionic Barrier spread out from his palm.

The barrier enveloped the mansion from above, penetrating the walls and the floor, precisely wrapping around all the hostages in the basement.

Those Human slaves huddled in the darkness saw the golden light shine above their heads and fell into a panic.

"What is that light?"

"This light... is very warm."

Sanguinius looked down at Tetake.

Tetake's face had already changed color, and a rattling sound came from his throat.

"You... you are crazy... the bombs... the bombs will explode..."

Tetake squeezed out a few words with difficulty.

Sanguinius shook his head slightly and said.

"The bombs will explode, but my kin will not die."

As he spoke, the strength in his hand increased.

With a crisp snap, Tetake's neck was crushed.

His head tilted to one side, his pupils dilated, and after his body twitched a few times, it went still.

The sound of the explosion came from underground, the shockwave tearing through walls and flipping floors, flames gushing out from below.

The mansion's foundation collapsed in the explosion, and the entire building sank downward.

But the golden Psionic Barrier did not move at all; the impact of the explosion crashed against the barrier, splashing ripples, and then dissipated.

The street outside the mansion was overturned by the shockwave, and within a radius of two hundred meters, everything was razed to the ground.

In the ruins, only that golden Psionic Barrier remained, covering the top of the basement.

Inside the barrier, the hostages huddled together, covering their ears and closing their eyes.

The sound of the explosion gradually subsided, and the golden light faded bit by bit, revealing the scorched ground and broken walls.

The hostages sat on the ground, covered in dust, but not a single person was injured.

Sanguinius stood at the edge of the crater, the corpse of Tetake in his hand already tossed to the side.

He put away his Spear, and his wings spread out.

These Human slaves looked at the figure of Sanguinius, discussing among themselves.

"Is that an Angel?"

"It... it is an Angel!"

"Did an Angel save us?"

Sanguinius turned around, flapped his wings, and flew toward the sky, while saying into the communication channel.

"Coordinates have been sent; arrange for people to come and receive these kin."

"Yes, Father."

Zelar Commercial Alliance Capital Star, Central City district, highest administrative building.

At this moment, on the terrace of the building's top floor, Kas stood at the edge, overlooking the burning city.

Behind him stood over a dozen Human children, the youngest only four or five years old, the oldest no more than twelve or thirteen. But their eyes were filled with terror as they looked at the monster before them who decided their life and death.

Kas stared at the sky, searching for that golden figure.

Sanguinius would surely come; the Primarch would not abandon Human children. This was his bargaining chip, and also his death warrant.

A golden speck of light appeared in the sky, growing larger and brighter.

Kas directly activated the detonation sequence.

Sanguinius descended from the sky, his golden Power Armor shining brilliantly in the sunlight, his pure white wings unfurling behind him.

Kas laughed.

"Lord Sanguinius, you have finally come."

Sanguinius spoke.

"Release the children."

Kas shook his head.

"Release? Whether I release them or not, I am dead. You will not spare my Capital Star, and I will not leave alive."

Just then, the entire building began to sink—not collapsing, but the whole structure falling toward the planet's core.

The area where the building stood turned into a massive sinkhole, and the entire structure, along with hundreds of meters of surrounding land, plummeted toward the magma layer inside the planet.

Sanguinius's wings snapped open, and he lunged toward the children.

His speed was so fast that Kas's eyes could not track him; a golden afterimage streaked across the terrace, and in the next second, he had already scooped up two children and grabbed two more.

With a beat of his wings, he flew upward.

Kas stood at the edge of the terrace, looking at Sanguinius and shouting defiantly.

"It's too late, the building is falling, you cannot save all the children."

The next second, Sanguinius used his psionic power to protect all the children, guiding the psionic energy to make them fly along with a Psionic Barrier, while he watched Kas fall along with the building.

Kas shouted frantically.

"At least, I die like an Archon."

The next second, a Stone wrapped in psionic energy flew down, piercing directly through Kas, then exploding into a mist of blood.

"No, you are just a cowardly Alien."

Having said that, Sanguinius flew up from the Shenyuan with the children.

He placed the children on safe ground, folded his wings, and watched the dozen or so children sitting on the ground.

A four or five-year-old girl hugged Sanguinius's leg, crying until she was out of breath.

"Don't go... don't go..."

Sanguinius crouched down and gently pried her hands away.

"You are safe now, someone will take care of you."

The little girl shook her head.

"The monster... the monster said we had to die with him..."

"Those Aliens are already dead; you are safe."

The little girl was still crying. An older boy walked over and took her hand.

"Let us not trouble this Angel any further."

The little girl was led away, and Sanguinius stood up and pressed his Communication Device.

"All units, report."

A reply came through the Communication Device.

"First Company, hostage rescue complete. Alien clearance complete."

"Second Company, complete."

"Third Company, complete."

After hearing the reports, Sanguinius gave the order.

"Bring our kin aboard; all hostages, transport them all onto the transport ships."

"Acknowledged."

Soon, a report sounded on the communication channel.

"Father, all kin have boarded. The total number of hostages is approximately forty-three million; not a single one was left behind."

"All ships, clear the orbit."

Subsequently, a Thunderhawk Gunship took off with the children who had been by Sanguinius's side.

On the *Angel*, the Adjutant issued the order.

The Blood Angels fleet ignited their engines and climbed toward orbit.

The transport ships followed behind, fully loaded with their kin.

After Sanguinius returned to the *Angel*, he issued the order.

"All units, evacuation complete, execute orbital bombardment. Target: Zelar Commercial Alliance Capital Star, fire at will."

As the Zelar Commercial Alliance's Capital Star began to disintegrate, debris drifted in all directions.

On the *Angel*, the Adjutant reported.

"Father, the target Capital Star has been destroyed."

Sanguinius stood on the Bridge, looking at the drifting debris outside the window, and ordered.

"Notify the other planets and issue Luojia's statement."

"Yes, Father."
