Chapter 738: Hidden Information
Lun Na De's ears rang with Pa Lie Si's hoarse, aged voice:
"He is playing the 'Miracle Master', no, now He is, it seems the further revival of the 'Fool' has also brought you, former colleague, considerable benefit."
"A Meng's ascension to godhood, the 'Fool's' revival, the tranquil days are about to end."
Lun Na De was momentarily stunned, looking bewildered at Ke Lai En beside him, and asked in disbelief, "Are you already an Angel?"
"Yes." Ke Lai En nodded, then asked again, "Does Pa Lie Si Suo Luo Ya Si De have any wish to fulfill? I need to quickly consume the demonic elixir."
"Um, I'll ask the old man," Lun Na De replied with a complicated nod.
Before he could ask, Pa Lie Si's voice already echoed beside his ear:
"I can hear it."
"I, a penniless old man, have what wish? If I must speak one, I wish A Meng could vanish from this world."
Lun Na De relayed Pa Lie Si's wish, Ke Lai En nodded with a complex expression. This is also my wish, but unfortunately I cannot; without A Meng, He himself would not agree, and His cheap father would not agree either.
After a few idle words with Lun Na De, Ke Lai En took his leave, feeling the pressure from A Meng's ascension; he now could not wait to consume the demonic elixir on his body, and hoped to also complete the promotion ceremony to become a Mysterious Secret Attendant.
With his plan set, Ke Lai En lingered no more, racing across Luen's various locales, seeking suitable people to help fulfill their wishes.
Until Monday at three in the afternoon, within the ancient palace above the gray mist that seemed eternally unchanging.
Rays of deep crimson light rose, swiftly solidifying into the various silhouettes of people seated on either side of the mottled long table.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Fool."
As always, Justice Ao Dai Li led, and everyone together bowed and greeted the foremost 'Fool' Ke Lai En, then took their seats, nodding to each other.
Lei Ke Dun sat on the high-backed chair belonging to the White Tower, watching the participants of the Tarot Meeting with interest; he was merely a projection from a historical fissure, summoned by Ke Lai En in advance from the mist of history.
After withdrawing all authority, His stature had reached half a step of the former era; even as a fragment formed from partial information, it provoked strong repulsion from the Source Fortress, and could only partake in the weekly Tarot Meeting by Ke Lai En pulling the historical projection.
In fact, He could choose not to attend; the weekly Tarot Meeting held little use or meaning for Him.
Nevertheless, He enjoyed the atmosphere here, as it helped Him maintain his current humanity.
As thoughts floated, He saw the newly seated 'Moon' Ai Mu Lin looking anxiously left and right, then raised his hand and said:
"Everyone, I have a question: I want to know whether the paths of the Cultivator and the Moon have any particular distinction compared to other routes?"
He paused, then added, "Recently I learned of some differences within the Earth Church; they divide clergy into the Blessed and the Favored."
As 'Moon' Ai Mu Lin spoke, most participants in the Tarot Meeting also shared his confusion.
The group exchanged glances, then looked at Lei Ke Dun; in their understanding, without disturbing the 'Fool', the White Tower was the most learned among the Tarot Meeting.
Feeling their gazes, Lei Ke Dun tilted his neck back, sighed deeply, and said, "You should all know that once one walks an extraordinary path, there is always the danger of losing control, and loss of control means contamination."
"Such contamination can arise from many sources—objects touched, sounds heard—but the primary cause lies in the lingering mental imprints and madness within the extraordinary traits, as well as the apex of the Sequence Path."
"The apex of the Sequence Path?" Ai Mu Lin paused, then murmured in disbelief, "Are you saying the Mother God has... a problem?"
"Heh, there is a piece of knowledge you may have encountered, guessed at, or perhaps know nothing about."
"The Fool" Ke Lai En's voice rang clearly in each member's ear at the Tarot Meeting; they even slowed their breathing, quietly and anxiously awaiting the 'Fool' gentleman's subsequent words:
"The apex of the Sequence Path is not Sequence 0; above it there exist additional entities."
"For example, the Ancient Sun God you all are familiar with."
"Do not investigate this portion of knowledge; the reason it is hidden is not only that few know it, but also because it is sufficiently dangerous even to merely understand." "Indeed." Hermit Jia De Li Ya absorbed this information the fastest.
She had previously speculated that the Ancient Sun God wielded authority greater than the ancient gods of the Second Era, and that to assassinate Him would require not only His cooperation but also the collaboration of the Angel King and the True Gods of that time.
In other words, the paths of the Cultivator and the Moon have an entity of higher rank than the Earth Mother God influencing them; who could it be—perhaps the Primeval Moon?
"Was the 'Fool' at his zenith also part of this line, which is why He disregarded A Meng—who even the gods must guard against—and opposed the True Creator that emerged from the Ancient Sun God's corpse?"
Furthermore, the Erudite, having merged the authority of the God of Steam and Machinery, is also approaching this rank? Thoughts flashed through her mind, and the shock made her forget even to control her expression.
The remaining members of the Tarot Meeting all turned to Jia De Li Ya, understanding that the Hermit lady had, via the 'Fool's' hint, drawn many shocking conjectures.
Only Moon Ai Mu Lin did not focus on her; his mind was a bit chaotic, and he looked helplessly toward the head of the mottled long table, addressing 'Fool' Ke Lai En: "Mr. Fool, on the paths of the Moon and the Cultivator, besides the Mother God, does another entity exist? And can it interfere with the Mother God's existence?"
"The Fool" Ke Lai En nodded slightly and said, "The Primeval Moon is His incarnation in this world; more than that is beyond what you can now investigate."
Sensing many remaining questions, He leaned back and, in a rhetorical manner, asked, "Where do you think the source of the twenty‑two extraordinary paths lies?"
"Hermit" Jia De Li Ya considered her answer: "The earlier view of the Moss Ascetic Society was that the essence of the world is knowledge, the essence of knowledge is numbers; all things are numbers, including humanity, and also the extraordinary traits of the twenty‑two paths."
"After the Erudite appeared, this viewpoint shifted; someone, based on knowledge from the Erudite, made the following summary:"
"The world was born from the original Creator, who incarnated as all things—spirit, matter, and extraordinary traits. The essence of the world's operation is the interweaving of countless dimensions, including the mental realm, spirit world, star realm, shadow world, river of destiny, and many other concrete or abstract existences; the material world is the nexus of all these interweavings."
"In the knowledge I have obtained, there is this description: the world moves because of change."
After a brief pause, she continued, "The preceding part is the consensus of all True God churches; the latter belongs exclusively to the Erudite Church's theory."
"Beyond that, the Vitalist school advocates a triple world."
"Moon" Ai Mu Lin looked at Hermit Jia De Li Ya, nodded slightly and said, "As one of the rulers of the Second Era, our Blood Clan believes that extraordinary traits indeed stem from the original Creator; as various traits accumulated, ancient gods were born, and those ancient gods then created different races."
"Thus, although major churches and secret organizations differ greatly in theory, they all essentially hold that extraordinary traits originate from the original Creator."
"Justice" Ao Dai Li quickly summarized, then looked toward the head of the mottled long table, seeking confirmation.
"Almost; some paths' previous masters did not vanish with the original awakening, but were stripped of certain traits and authority."
Ke Lai En chose his words carefully, keeping them concise and avoiding descriptions of dangerous information, and said.
"Awakening?" Justice Ao Dai Li was momentarily stunned; this differed from the answer she had imagined.
Ke Lai En tapped the table edge with a finger and reminded:
"There is no need to investigate; the more you know, the more dangerous it becomes. You can give yourself a mental hint to routinely ignore this information."
"I understand, thank you for your warning, Mr. Fool," Ao Dai Li replied with a serious expression, nodding.
Having roughly digested the information Ke Lai En tossed, "Moon" Ai Mu Lin swallowed and said:
"That Primeval Moon, seeking to reclaim the authority of the Cultivator and Moon paths, thus interferes with the Mother God's edicts and the extraordinary beings of these two paths— is this the reason for the Earth Church's special structure?"
"Exactly," Ke Lai En affirmed Ai Mu Lin's speculation.
Receiving the 'Fool's' affirmation, Ai Mu Lin's lingering concern not only remained but rose higher, meaning that as followers of the Mother God and as the Moon's beloved, our Blood Clan will be more dangerous than most extraordinary beings, unless the Mother God fully occupies the authority belonging to the Moon and the Cultivator.
Even if one does not believe in and understand the 'Primordial Moon', as an extraordinary being born with the 'Moon' pathway, the blood clan is also easily disturbed by Him, is this the reason for the system of the Blessed and the Favored? The more Emlyn thought about it, the worse his complexion became.
At his right side, Rekton looked at Emlyn, whose complexion was gradually worsening, and gave a light laugh to comfort him: 'Cheer up; compared to the 'Aberrant' and 'Demon' pathways, you who have Lilith's protection are already quite fortunate.'
