Chapter 52

"Su Yan's strength is inevitable, and now the offer has reached the sky-high price of 24 million USD over 4 years, but Su Yan doesn't seem to have any intention of signing with the Nuggets yet.

The Bulls also haven't made any moves.

Then.

Where will Su Yan eventually land, I'm really looking forward to it!"

"I... me too!"

"......"

One offer after another became higher, and the battle for Su Yan became more and more intense.

And the "sky-high rookie contract" of 24 million USD over 4 years also brought the white-hot battle for Su Yan to its highest stage.

Nuggets: 24 million USD over 4 years.

The Rockets, Feicheng, Magic, Cavaliers, and other teams that had already offered high-priced contracts gave up on continuing to increase their bids, leaving the choice to Su Yan.

Three days later.

The "wealthy and arrogant", "foolish with money" Knicks added another 1 million, offering 25 million USD over 4 years to Su Yan.

At this point.

No more teams increased their bids.

However... such a contract, for a rookie, especially an undrafted one, was already in the category of a sky-high price.

The choice was left to Su Yan.

And Rich Paul also organized all the offers and gave them to Su Yan, while waiting for the Bulls' final offer.

Another day later.

Su Yan came to the arena for his daily training as usual.

Although the 10-day short-term contract day had arrived, the Bulls clearly promised to give Su Yan a satisfactory renewal contract.

At the same time.

They allowed Su Yan to train at the Bulls arena.

The Summer League had also ended.

Hinrich, Crawford, Eddy Curry, Tyson Chandler, and other players were also training.

Crawford was in his third year, Eddy Curry and Tyson Chandler were in their second year, and Hinrich and Su Yan were still rookies; everyone needed to train to improve themselves during the off-season.

"Hahaha~ guys are training very actively."

At this time, Pippen walked over with a hearty smile.

"Big brother, drink some coffee."

As soon as Hinrich saw it was Pippen, he hurriedly handed the coffee he had prepared for himself but hadn't drunk yet to the old big brother Pippen.

Pippen took it, gulped down a big mouthful, frowned, and stuck out his tongue, "What the hell is this, no sugar, so bitter!!!"

"Heh... hehehe~"

Hinrich gave a sheepish smile, thinking to himself: How could that be, bitter coffee is the best to drink.

Returning the coffee to Hinrich, Pippen came to Su Yan, scanned him up and down, and smiled: "Yo~ your spirit looks good.

Is your state today positive and upward?!"

"Of course."

Su Yan smiled and squeezed his fists, "My daily state is always positive and upward!"

"Ha..."

When Pippen saw Su Yan didn't understand, he couldn't help but smile and ask, "Is that so? If it's always upward, that might not be a good thing.

That might be a problem!!!"

"Hehehe~"

On the side.

Tyson Chandler covered his mouth and snickered.

Su Yan:???

What's the problem with maintaining a positive and upward state every day? Why is Pippen smirking, why is Chandler snickering?!

Huh?

What does that mean?!

"Forget it, speaking some bird language, don't understand, don't understand!!!"

After thinking for a while and not figuring it out, Su Yan didn't dwell on it.

"Hahaha..."

Pippen laughed loudly, didn't say much, and continued to greet, "Su, come with me to the manager's office, Manager Paxson is looking for you for something."

"Okay."

If Paxson didn't look for him again.

He was also planning to let Rich Paul put on some pressure.

Not long after.

In the living room sofa of the manager's office.

Su Yan and Pippen sat on one side, Manager Paxson and Coach Skiles sat on the other, and besides... Su Yan's agent Rich Paul was standing beside him.

"Su."

Paxson got straight to the point, "I called Rich Paul out; coming here today is just for one thing, it's about time to finalize your renewal contract with the Bulls.

From the time you withdrew from the Summer League until now.

This week, the whole league has been fighting for you.

I am very grateful that you were able to hold back from accepting some big contracts from other teams and waited for our final contract offer.

We made a promise, and we won't break it.

Before formally discussing the contract, let's give you this key first."

Saying that.

Paxson gave a set of keys to Su Yan, "This is the key to a small villa of 300 square meters in a good location near the United Center arena.

As long as you are with the Bulls for one day, you can live in this villa for free, and you don't have to worry about water and electricity.

If you can achieve some success for the Bulls, or have a positive impact on the Bulls, giving you this villa is not a problem.

This is a benefit I fought for you from boss Jerry Reinsdorf.

Now about the contract.

The Knicks gave the highest contract of 25 million USD over 4 years.

For an undrafted player, no, even for a rookie, this is already at the level of a "sky-high contract".

However.

I don't think this is the best offer.

Because that is a "2+2" contract, which means... you have to stay with the Knicks for at least 2 years before you have a chance to fight for the next contract.

The contract we, the Bulls, finally offer is: 12 million USD over 2 years, and this is a "1+1" contract; you have a player option in the second year.

6 million USD per year.

Although this salary is 250,000 USD less than the Knicks, it... only lasts for one year, allowing you to get a new max contract next season.

At that time.

After you grow for another season, your annual salary for the next season will start at at least 10 million USD; you will get a higher contract.

Generally speaking.

Rookies are on a 4-year "2+2" contract.

This makes many powerful rookie players play for the team as "child laborers" for 4 years before they can get a big contract.

But you are an undrafted player.

You don't have this restriction, and I fought for this shortest contract to test a superstar from the management, allowing you to take off next year.

Of course.

The premise is that you can play at a good level this year.

As long as you can play well, this offer will definitely be a contract that surpasses all other teams' offers.

The key is.

You are still one man, one city." ===== CHAPTER 54 =====
