Chapter 14: Marriage Oath
Marriage Oath
The sky was clear and the sun was shining brightly.
On the boundless sea, dozens of massive orcas broke the surface, their streamlined bodies rolling and leaping in the water; their black-and-white skin shimmered with an oily luster, their black tail fins slapped the water powerfully, and they emitted long, highly penetrating "awoo-ying" calls from their pointed, rounded mouths.
Intelligent Sea Beastmen heard these sounds and left this area early, fearing they might disturb these big guys and end up being targeted and used as entertainment for them.
Among them were some Beastmen who had already transformed into human form; they stood in a circle in the middle, wearing beast-hide clothing made from raw skins, with black hair and fair skin, their faces beaming with smiles and their gazes eager.
It was like a large-scale carnival.
In the very center of the group of Beastmen were Chaosheng, Baini, and Yinxu, all in human form.
Today, Baini had neatly tucked his damp, messy hair behind his ears; his black garment with white trim clung to his defined abdominal muscles, his shoulders were broad and his legs long, and his usually sullen and arrogant features were currently filled with nervousness and gravity.
Yinxu stood on the other side; he was vastly different from the fair-skinned, black-haired Beastmen around him, for his skin was extremely dark, yet his features were exceptionally refined and handsome, his deep brown eyes were indifferent and aloof, and a faint smile played at the corners of his thin lips.
"Pfft!"
A dozen orcas simultaneously sprayed six-meter-high columns of water from above their heads, and the ceremony officially began.
Baini nervously rubbed his hands together, his round black eyes gazing deeply at the beautiful female beside him; the little Mermaid was dressed very beautifully today, the three-layered necklace of iridescent black pearls around her neck making her look incomparably noble, and the beast-hide clothing on her body was conjured based on her fish tail, but since her tail was naturally resplendent and beautiful, the conjured clothing also shimmered with flowing light, and chains of pearls were draped around her slender, beautiful waist, outlining alluring curves.
Most Beastmen in the Polar Sea were simple, and it was rare to see such rich and resplendent beauty.
Chaosheng seemed to sense something; she turned her head slightly and gave him a soothing smile.
Baini quietly took a deep breath, then made his vow calmly and firmly.
"I am willing to take Chaosheng as my Mate, to love and protect her for all my life, to share my ability with her, and to share my lifespan."
Once the vow was finished, the daylight shifted slightly; Chaosheng suddenly shuddered, and a novel energy poured into her body, intertwining and merging with the Witch Power within her; she frowned slightly and began to touch this energy, which resulted in a Wind Blade that blasted a large crater into the seawater.
"What is this?" Chaosheng asked uncertainly.
Baini's expression shifted slightly; he looked deeply at Chaosheng, his hand involuntarily moving to his chest, "This is my ability."
Seeing that Baini's expression was wrong, Chaosheng's expectant and joyful heart sank to the bottom; she wanted to ask in detail, but it was truly not a good time for questions, so she could only look at him with a conflicted expression, secretly wondering if something had gone wrong with the Marriage Oath.
Seeing this, a flash of heartache crossed Baini's eyes, but the impact he had just received was truly too great; he almost wanted to take off his clothes right now to check his chest, as that alluring itch felt like a parasitic insect had moved into his heart, rolling and throwing a tantrum.
"Baini..." Chaosheng spoke softly, her brows and eyes drooping in sadness; how could it be like this?
"I..." Baini looked at the little Mermaid at a loss, having no idea what to do; he had a belly full of questions he wanted to ask, but this was not a good time for questions.
Yinxu keenly sensed that something was wrong, but he could not figure out the reason and did not want to ask rashly; taking advantage of the other Beastmen not paying attention, he gently tugged at Chaosheng's small hand, "Sheng, don't be afraid."
Chaosheng was still full of disappointment; after all, on the day of one's own wedding, if one's groom suddenly changed his expression, no one would be able to feel good.
Seeing the atmosphere at a stalemate, Baipei hurried out to smooth things over, explaining to Chaosheng, "The Marriage Oath is complete; you can now share half of Baini's ability, and when you fully unite, you will be able to share all of Baini's ability."
In the Beastman world, a full union naturally meant mating.
Chaosheng looked at Baini with a complex expression, feeling that strange power, and sighed in her heart, how truly magical.
Even though its owner was still sulking for no apparent reason, it was nuzzling everywhere inside her body, as if it were marking its territory and couldn't wait to leave its own mark.
The atmosphere between Chaosheng and Baini was extremely strange, not at all like newlywed sweethearts; both were looking down with troubled minds, not knowing what they were thinking.
Baipei gave them a few looks, but they ignored her, so she had to come out to preside over the situation, urging, "Yinxu, it's your turn."
"Alright." Yinxu looked at Chaosheng beside him, his gentle, deep eyes filled with tenderness, "Sheng?"
Coming back to her senses, Chaosheng raised her head, her eyes still dazed, but the corners of her drooping mouth finally curled into a faint smile, "I'm here."
"It's our turn."
"I am willing to take Chaosheng as my Mate, to protect and love her for all my life, to share my ability with her, and to share my lifespan."
As the words fell, two more beams of light struck Chaosheng and Yinxu.
Chaosheng felt another surge of power pouring down from the crown of her head; a tingling itch stimulated her to shudder uncontrollably, her fingertips trembling slightly, and a small vine passed behind her neck, affectionately rubbing against her cheek to soothe her uneasy heart.
Yinxu's deep brown pupils constricted, his body trembling slightly; he pressed his hand to his chest in disbelief, for he could feel that a strange mass of power was wantonly weaving and taking root there.
A power so strange to the extreme swirled in his chest; was this an ability? No, this was not an ability!
Even though this was his first time marrying and taking a vow, he knew that according to the normal process, a Male Beastman would not have any changes or sensations; this feeling was as if... as if they were the females sharing a spouse's ability.
Although a stormy sea had already been stirred up in his heart, considering that so many Sea Beastmen were present, Yinxu restrained his expression, a gentle curve appearing at the corners of his mouth as he declared tenderly, "Sheng, from now on, I am your Beast Husband."
"Ah, yes!" Chaosheng tried hard to put on a smile, laughing absent-mindedly.
From the reactions of Yinxu and Baini, she vaguely guessed some things.
There were some things she seemed unable to hide anymore.
She lacked the strength to weave one lie after another to deceive them, but should she confess to them?
Would they also view her as an anomaly?
Chaosheng closed her eyes in sorrow; Baini and Yinxu were the people she was closest to and trusted most in this world, and she did not want to reach that point with them.
A hand quietly reached out and held hers; from this direction, was it Baini? Chaosheng opened her eyes in surprise, looking at him, her damp eye sockets rimmed with a hint of red, "Baini?"
Baini pursed his lips; even though his round black eyes hid many questions, they still showed an irrepressible concern and heartache, "Sheng, don't worry."
