Chapter 46: Minglu
Minglu
Deep in the dark blue sea, several Cone-Toothed Sharks and Beast-Eater Sharks swam back and forth.
A layer of soft seaweed was spread over the flat rock, and the emerald sea grass swayed with the ocean waves.
The usually fierce Cone-Toothed Shark now lay weakly and quietly on the seaweed, on the verge of death.
Her body lay flat, and only by catching a faint twitch of muscle could one determine that she was still alive.
Parts of her massive body were crushed and deformed; one could imagine how great a blow she had suffered before.
Several Male Beastmen and Female Beastmen circled the Cone-Toothed Shark with anxious faces, terrified that Aian would just pass away like this.
"Damn it, why hasn't our Mate woken up yet?"
"Who knows? Bulin already said there was no other way..."
"Didn't that Red-Spotted Salmon say she went to find a Beastman for help? Why hasn't she come yet?"
"You believe her? Do you know who she is? She's that Mermaid criminal female!"
A delicate-looking Male Beastman said cattily, his slanted eyes full of bitterness, "Only you lot believe her; I wouldn't dare let her come. Who knows if she'll do something detrimental to our Mate!"
"You don't know, she's just a troublemaker, claiming every day that she can save Beastmen. I'm just waiting for the day she gets exposed..."
"Minglu, if you aren't here to care about our Leader, then get out yourself!"
Another Female Beastman couldn't stand it anymore; this Minglu loved to stir up trouble before, and now she was being just as foolish!
Minglu rolled her eyes and retreated to the side, looking displeased.
"We... we're here..."
Honglianlian looked at Chaosheng awkwardly; she really hadn't expected the War Shark Tribe to give her such a big "surprise."
Perhaps feeling bad about it, Honglianlian blushed and said to Chaosheng with guilt: "If it really doesn't work, let's just go back."
Chaosheng just chuckled, unbothered, "Since we're already here, let's go take a look."
Chaosheng walked in with Honglianlian just like that.
Several Beastmen cleared a path for Chaosheng, fearing they might neglect this last glimmer of hope that could make their "Mate" wake up.
"Please, my Mate has been in a coma since that day... The veterinarian Bulin said if she continues like this, she might..."
As he spoke, a Male began to choke up and cry.
A flash of helplessness crossed Chaosheng's eyes, and she comforted him softly: "It's alright, leave it to me."
"Hmph!" Minglu let out a disdainful cold snort, her eyes rolling almost to the sky, "Putting on an act."
The Cone-Toothed Shark female guarding the side couldn't hold back anymore, "Minglu, come out with me."
"I..." Minglu was unwilling and wanted to resist.
"Hmm?"
The Cone-Toothed Shark female narrowed her eyes with a hint of authority, and Minglu dared not say more, following Ailu out.
Ailu and Aian were sisters born of the same father and mother; usually, Aian doted on this younger sister immensely.
If Aian were to unfortunately pass away, it would likely be Ailu who inherited the War Shark Tribe.
Minglu dared not defy Ailu and followed her out, albeit unwillingly.
In an instant, this area of the sea became quiet.
Chaosheng extended a wisp of Witch Power into Aian's body, while on the surface, she reached out her hand to examine the wounds on Aian's body.
"How is it?" a Male Beastman asked nervously, terrified that Chaosheng might deliver bad news.
The purple Witch Power shallowly repaired the injured internal organs, stopping them from bleeding further, before it withdrew.
"Cough!"
As the Witch Power withdrew, Aian couldn't help but cough lightly.
"Mate!"
"Mate!"
Several Male Beastmen called out to Aian with worried faces, hoping she would wake up right then, yet also fearing her condition might worsen.
Unfortunately, after those few calls, Aian gave no further reaction.
A Male Beastman looked at Chaosheng for help: "How is my Mate?"
Chaosheng lowered her head slightly, pondered for a moment, and said: "She's fine."
Hearing this, the Male Beastman let out two sighs of relief, but still said in disbelief: "Re... really?"
One had to know that even Bulin had said the Mate was beyond saving.
"Yes," Chaosheng nodded and replied earnestly, "She will be fine."
"I will prepare the healing medicine tomorrow; send a Beastman to collect it at this time tomorrow night."
"Ah, alright, alright."
Several Male Beastmen were a bit dazed and could only nod blankly.
A Female Beastman who often handled the Tribe's affairs stood up and asked: "Will the Leader be better after taking this medicine?"
"No."
The female furrowed her brows tightly and looked at Chaosheng in disbelief, "What did you say?"
"If it's useless, then why..."
Chaosheng just smiled faintly, "I mean, taking it for one day won't solve the problem; she needs to take it for ten consecutive days."
"The injuries she sustained are truly too severe."
Hearing this, the Beast-Eater Shark female finally let out a breath, her gaze toward Chaosheng softening a bit, "That's good, as long as she can wake up."
Although Aian had an impulsive personality and a bad temper, she was a female who cared deeply for the Tribe.
No one wanted Aian to just pass away like this.
Honglianlian walked over with her eyes gleaming, her face smiling like a flower, "Can she really be better in ten days?"
"Mm." Chaosheng gave a lukewarm grunt of acknowledgment.
Honglianlian did not mind Chaosheng's coldness at all, happily patting Chaosheng on the shoulder, "My god! You are just too amazing!"
"Aian was injured like that, and you were actually able to save her?"
"Mermaid Female, I'm almost about to worship you!"
Chaosheng looked helplessly at the hand she had placed on her shoulder, the corners of her mouth twitching slightly, and then she said to the Beastman of the War Shark Tribe, "If there is nothing else, I will head back first."
"I'll go with you." Honglianlian found Chaosheng incredibly rare and precious now; no matter how intense those rumors were before, they were only things she had heard, which was nowhere near as exciting as witnessing it with her own eyes in such a genuine way.
"Fine."
Chaosheng had only taken two steps with Honglianlian when she was suddenly called out to.
"Wait!"
Ailu called out to Chaosheng, "I have something to find you for."
"Hm? Me?" Chaosheng pointed at herself in confusion; what could it be now?
"Hahaha." The tired look on Ailu's face from the past few days relaxed, "Don't be nervous, it's nothing major."
"I just have something to tell you."
"What?" Chaosheng looked at her in bewilderment; had she ever had any connection with her?
What could she possibly have to say to her?
Ailu shook the vine whip in her hand, the barbs on it still snagging a few strands of blood, and the whip slapped against the seabed in rhythmic thuds, "I just interrogated Minglu."
Seeing that Chaosheng was somewhat puzzled, Ailu explained with good grace, "That's the Beastman who spoke ill of you."
"He has a very good relationship with the former Beast Husband of the Jingju Tribe's young master."
The Jingju Tribe's young master's, former Beast Husband?!
Chaosheng frowned slightly, her eyes deep with emotion; wasn't that Lianxun?
She looked up at Ailu, her mouth slightly agape in surprise, "And then?"
Ailu raised her eyebrows and said with self-satisfied ease, "I heard that the young master of the Jingju Tribe has separated from him now, and has since taken two new Beast Husbands."
"However, that Krill Orc is not one to stay quiet."
