Chapter 51: Plucking the Little Octopus
Plucking the Little Octopus
Guxian's deep, dark gaze paused slightly. As he lowered his eyes, his long lashes veiled the surging emotions beneath, and his voice was as soft as a drifting feather: "Chaosheng, the female, helped me, so I... naturally want to come and repay her."
The lazy, relaxed look in Baini's eyes sharpened, a flash of ferocity crossing his round, black eyes. Baini sneered: "What do you want to repay?"
"A useless Male, we have no use for you here."
He had grown up in the Polar Sea since he was young, yet he had never heard of him.
He was likely just a Male Beastman who had luckily awakened an ability.
With a graceful turn of his crimson eyes, the curve of Guxian's lips became ambiguous: "There will always be a place where I am needed."
He appeared to have an excellent temper; even after being offended like that by Baini, he was not the least bit angry.
Chaosheng rubbed her throbbing temple and sighed imperceptibly: "Alright."
Then, facing Guxian, she said with a solemn face: "Guxian, you should go back."
"I don't like staying with strange Beastmen."
The intent to dismiss the guest was extremely obvious. A flash of loneliness crossed Guxian's beautiful face, his deep red eyes stained with a touch of desolation, and his tone carried a hint of anticipation: "Then does that mean if I am not a strange Beastman, it would be okay?"
A faint pink flush spread across his pale skin; as he raised and lowered his eyes, he displayed a graceful curve that made one unable to bear it.
I want so much, so much to turn into my original form and let her see me waving my mating arms.
"Are you deaf?" A flash of hostility crossed Baini's eyes, his clear, resonant voice laced with ruthlessness: "We don't welcome you here."
Guxian seemed to not take Baini's words to heart at all, looking quietly at Chaosheng as if she were the only Beastman in his world.
Chaosheng's expression was troubled, a hint of helplessness tugging at the corners of her mouth.
Guxian lowered his head, his elegant, thick hair falling forward, his voice low and dejected: "Alright, it seems I should go."
"Can you come and see me home?"
With eyes as bright as rubies looking at her expectantly, Chaosheng felt it wouldn't be a bother, so she agreed: "Alright."
"Sheng!"
"Sheng, I'll go with you—"
Yinxu and Baini both looked at her disapprovingly; this Male Beastman looked scheming at a glance, how could Sheng stay alone with him?
Chaosheng, however, just shook her head: "No need."
"I'll go by myself."
Guxian was severely injured, and besides, she still needed to continue helping him purify his Mental Sea later; looking at him, he wouldn't dare do anything to her.
However, she did miss that little octopus a bit.
His brother didn't accompany him yesterday; he wouldn't be unable to even find food alone, would he?
Guxian's eyes were filled with joy, and he watched Chaosheng without blinking: "Alright."
Chaosheng and Guxian swam out of the cave side by side.
Yinxu and Baini could only watch their retreating backs.
After a short while, Baini also stood up and headed out of the cave.
Yinxu asked in a panic: "Where are you going?"
Baini did not turn around, his deep voice drifting along with the seawater: "I'm going to the Tribe."
Since Sheng isn't home anyway, I might as well take this opportunity to go back to the Tribe and have a look.
Her large purple tail swayed freely in the ice-blue seawater. Considering Guxian's speed, Chaosheng swam very slowly.
She looked at Guxian, who was swimming extremely slowly, a question rising in her eyes: "Do all octopuses swim this slowly?"
Guxian's eyes were clear and transparent as he tilted his head slightly: "Octopuses don't rely on speed to hunt."
"Alright." Chaosheng pursed her lips, a faint trace of doubt drifting through her purple eyes: "Come to think of it, I haven't seen your beast form yet."
"What breed of octopus are you?"
Guxian, however, seemed to have received some kind of hint, his red eyes carrying a strange smile: "Do you want to see my beast form?"
"I..."
Just as Chaosheng hesitated for a moment, the handsome and frail male beauty before her was gone, instantly transforming into a giant red octopus.
The deep red octopus was covered in circles of crimson rings, reflecting a faint fluorescence in the seawater; it was extremely beautiful.
Chaosheng watched this scene in shock, the stunning Mermaid reaching out her hand, stepping closer and closer to the mesmerizing, gorgeous blue-ringed octopus.
One tentacle slowly approached the little Mermaid, while several tentacles behind it turned a striking pink, waving with great force.
Sensing the little Mermaid's gaze looking over, those pink tentacles waved even more vigorously.
A flash of doubt crossed her deep purple eyes, but thinking of how that little Dumbo octopus also loved to wave its two fleshy fins, she naturally assumed this must be an octopus habit.
Her slender, fair fingers gently touched the thick tentacle. The suckers on the tentacle latched onto her fingers; he controlled his strength well, not using too much force to hurt the little Mermaid, yet able to firmly adhere to her delicate fingertips.
"Hm?" Chaosheng curiously applied some force, poking the soft, glutinous flesh.
Wow, so soft.
The big octopus also obediently let the little Mermaid touch him, a flash of smugness crossing his deep red eyes, and then he began to shake his pink tentacles even harder.
The sensory system on the suckers transmitted the little Mermaid's scent and body temperature. The slightly fresh, faint fragrance seemed to drill into his brain, and one tentacle, slightly longer than the others and lacking suckers at the tip, paused.
After waiting quietly for a moment, that tentacle began to tremble faintly.
But the little Mermaid at this moment did not notice any of this; her attention had already been captured by the tentacle before her that was sucking on her fingertips while starting to turn pink.
"It can change color too?"
"Does it change randomly?"
"Not at all." The big octopus's voice remained soft and ethereal, inconsistent with his huge and terrifying appearance: "The color depends on my mood."
"Hm?" Chaosheng extended her other hand to stroke the pink, tender surface of the tentacle. After detecting nothing unusual, Chaosheng asked curiously: "Then are you very happy right now?"
"So that is why it turned pink?"
Another of the octopus's tentacles wrapped around this mischievous hand, the sticky sensation pressing against the fair, tender skin, and Guxian said earnestly, "When feeling happy and joyful, the color becomes lighter."
Chaosheng nodded, thinking Guxian had confirmed her words, and she said with eyes full of admiration, "How truly magical!"
Such a vast ocean has given birth to so many magical creatures.
The pink tentacle swayed, and Guxian's tone carried a light temptation, "Do you like it?"
"Hm?" Chaosheng's expression changed slightly, a cold glint flashing in her purple eyes, "What did you just say?"
The tentacle wrapped around Chaosheng's arm retracted, the giant octopus instantly transforming into a graceful man, his pale, thin lips curling slightly, "I meant that I rarely see a female who is not afraid of my beast form."
Chaosheng's expression softened, a genuine smile appearing in her eyes, "I think it is very beautiful."
Different from the cuteness of a dumbo octopus, Guxian's beast form could indeed be called beautiful.
"You are the first female to say so."
His red eyes held a deep smile, a wisp of black mist rising in their depths, and within that black mist, the past where Guxian had been ostracized and called disgusting flickered faintly.
