Chapter 67: Advanced Again?

~7 min read 1,207 words

Another advancement?

A flash of white light suddenly streaked across the black world, and Chaosheng opened her eyes uncomfortably.

A massive cyan-white light erupted on the left, the surrounding seawater swirling like a vortex, and Baini's pained groans could be faintly heard.

"Baini! Baini!"

Chaosheng called out anxiously, but it was as if Baini were cut off from them; he could hear nothing from the outside, and naturally, he could not respond to Chaosheng.

"What's wrong with him?!" Chaosheng looked to Yinxu for help, her face full of anxiety. "Yinxu, do you know what's wrong with him?"

Yinxu watched the massive ball of white light with deep eyes, saying with a hint of uncertainty, "He... he might be advancing."

"Advancing?" Chaosheng said incredulously. "How can it be so fast? Didn't he just reach the Sixth Tier?"

"How can he be advancing so soon?"

Chaosheng was flustered by concern, but Yinxu, as a Male Beastman with abilities, could see things more clearly from a bystander's perspective. "Perhaps..."

"The reason he has been so fond of sleeping these days is not because he needed to recover after being poisoned."

"But because he was accumulating power to advance."

"But..." Chaosheng looked worriedly in Baini's direction. Was it because of the Pu-Hoof Grass? Did it have such a huge impact on Baini?

"But will advancing again so quickly have any bad effects on Baini?"

The cyan-colored light swirled along with the seawater, becoming increasingly blinding.

Chaosheng blinked uncomfortably, her heart growing more worried.

"I'm not too sure either; I've never reached the Seventh Tier."

Yinxu's calm words held a trace of loneliness, though he still had a rough guess.

It should be related to the Pu-Hoof Grass; perhaps before this, Baini was already close to advancing.

After the Pu-Hoof Grass forcibly raised Baini's ability to the Sixth Tier, there was still leftover energy that hadn't been used, so it accumulated in Baini's body, waiting for the next advancement.

After a long while, the cyan-white light grew smaller and fainter, seemingly about to retract into Baini's body.

"Ah!"

Chaosheng suddenly let out a soft moan, and Yinxu asked worriedly, "Sheng, what's wrong?"

Chaosheng raised her fingertip, a wisp of cyan-white wind stirring the seawater before her, her violet eyes dazed. "Baini... really advanced."

She felt it.

Her own Wind Element Ability had also risen by half a tier.

"Woof!"

"Sheng, I've advanced!"

The blinding light vanished completely, and Baini had successfully reached the Seventh Tier.

His handsome, pale face was full of joy, and he couldn't wait to walk out and hug Chaosheng tightly. "Sheng, I've advanced!"

"I am a Seventh-tier Beastman now!"

"Haha, that's great!" Chaosheng smiled as she looked at Baini, a hint of hidden worry in her eyes. "Baini, do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"

Baini obediently checked himself, then pulled at the corners of his mouth, revealing his playful tiger teeth in a wide grin. "No!"

"I feel like I'm full of power now, and I don't feel as sleepy as I did before."

Chaosheng silently sent out a wisp of Witch Power, circulating it through Baini's body, and only after confirming he was fine did she show a genuine smile. "That's good."

"Let's go eat grilled fish today; we haven't had fish in a long time."

"Whatever you want to eat, and however much, I will satisfy you!"

"Really?"

Yinxu sat quietly on the shore; he seemed exceptionally silent today.

He looked at the boundless ocean before him with obscure eyes, and unconsciously extended his fingertip, growing a green vine.

The vine burrowed into the cold seawater, growing wantonly in the ocean as if testing its own limits.

The fish and shrimp beneath the sea surface watched this strange, slender vine growing forward and swam away in terror.

A Sea Beastman who happened to pass by: "Sea God! The vine has mutated!"

"Run! There's a monster!"

Chaosheng felt like a fire-starting tool-person, processing all the fish and then laying them out on the ice-stone ground.

A bright yellow fire ignited, the fish meat crackling and popping, emitting wisps of mouth-watering aroma.

The heat of the fire turned Chaosheng's face bright red. She watched the pile of fish meat without moving, and once one side was grilled enough, she used her ability to flip them over.

Baini sat with his legs bent beside her, like a well-behaved baby, looking at the fragrant grilled fish with anticipation. "Sheng, how much longer until it's ready?"

"I really want to eat!"

"It doesn't have to be fully cooked, I think it's fine to eat now."

Sheng said that once the fish meat stopped being slippery and sticky and the texture changed completely, it was cooked.

Baini stretched his neck, patted his flattened stomach, and swallowed his saliva, looking left and right, wondering which one to eat first.

Chaosheng's gaze paused, and a moment later, a flash of agreement crossed her eyes.

That's right, he was an Orca; he ate raw food anyway.

He could eat it even if it wasn't cooked.

Thinking of this, Chaosheng decisively stopped the fire, the scorching flames instantly vanishing from the ice-stone ground, leaving behind rows of seven-tenths-cooked grilled fish.

"Wow!"

Baini couldn't wait to grab the fish he had been eyeing, the largest and fattest one. "Sheng, you... Ouch!"

The fish meat, just out of the fire, was so hot that Baini's pale, slender fingers instantly turned bright red. He looked at Chaosheng with a wronged expression, grimacing in pain. "Sheng, it hurts!"

Chaosheng: "..."

"Come with me!"

Chaosheng placed Baini's even redder finger into the icy seawater, and a wisp of purple Witch Power quietly emerged, wrapping around the finger that had turned red.

"Eh?! It seems I don't hurt anymore, eh."

Baini curiously shook his finger in the seawater, and sure enough, that stinging pain was gone.

Then he tried taking his finger out again, eh?! It didn't hurt either.

"Sheng!" He excitedly hugged Chaosheng, rubbing his large black head against Chaosheng's sensitive neck incessantly, acting spoiled without a care in the world, "You are so amazing!"

"Alright, go eat the fish."

Chaosheng gently pushed Baini away, a trace of helplessness flashing in the depths of her eyes.

After the recent commotion, the grilled fish meat had cooled down rapidly after being chilled by the ice stone ground.

However, Baini did not mind, devouring it wolfishly and squinting his round black eyes in enjoyment.

Chaosheng put away a few of the grilled fish and walked toward Yinxu.

"Here."

Her fair little hand was covered in a greasy sheen, and several large grilled fish were held out in front of her.

The vines growing from Yinxu's fingertips paused, and taking advantage of Chaosheng not paying attention, she quickly snapped them off into the sea.

"I'm not hungry yet."

"Huh?" Chaosheng blinked her eyes in confusion, seemingly unable to believe what she had heard, "But you haven't eaten anything today, have you?"

"Besides, these fish were all caught by you, and you expended a lot of energy, how could you not be hungry?"

"I..." Yinxu could not describe what she was feeling right now, and she lowered her head gloomily, not daring to look at Chaosheng, "I ate while I was hunting, I'm not hungry yet."
