Chapter 131: He’s Not Going to Give It to Her

~4 min read 647 words

Iris Yates glared at Walker Grant, unleashing a merciless tirade.

Walker Grant’s dark eyes swept over her with a chilling glance before settling on Chloe Reed. "Why are you trying to take her things?" he asked coolly.

"I want them too. Is that not allowed?" Chloe Reed stared him down, her gaze fixed on how he shielded Sunny Reed behind him. "Walker Grant, we’re not divorced yet. What you buy is marital property. She didn’t have my permission, so she has to give them back to me!"

At her words, the darkness in Walker Grant’s eyes deepened, and some of the sharp intensity of his aura dissipated.

His tone softened. "They’re just a pair of earrings. If you want some, I can buy you better, more expensive ones."

"But I want *these*," Chloe Reed insisted, her eyes still locked on him. "Give me the earrings!"

Sunny Reed clutched the box tightly. "Impossible! Sister, I can let you have anything else you want, but not these earrings!"

Iris Yates scoffed. "You don’t want those earrings. You just want to make our Chloe miserable! You’ve been like this since we were kids—whatever Chloe wants, you snatch it away. Are you just shameless?!"

Sunny Reed said stubbornly, "I have never snatched anything from my sister. Please show some respect when you speak!"

"Respect you? I’d love to kill you!" Iris Yates glared at her viciously.

Sunny Reed instinctively ducked behind Walker Grant.

Walker Grant shot a cold glance at Iris Yates. "Did you not learn your lesson from last time?"

Iris’s expression turned grim. "What a beast."

Chloe Reed stepped forward, moving in front of Iris to shield her. She looked at him coldly. "Those were something my grandmother always wanted, and I spent a long time searching for them. Walker Grant, if you have a shred of decency, give me the earrings!"

At her words, Walker Grant’s brows furrowed slightly. He hadn’t expected that to be the reason.

But now, he was caught in a dilemma.

Sunny Reed tugged on the hem of his shirt. "Walker..."

Chloe Reed suddenly looked at her. "You answered his phone call just now. Didn’t you pass along the message? Or did you just not say anything?"

Walker Grant immediately turned to her. "You answered my call?"

He took out his phone and checked his call history, but there was nothing there.

Sunny Reed was also shaking her head. "I didn’t touch your phone."

She then turned to Chloe Reed. "Sister, are you mistaken? I didn’t touch Walker’s phone, let alone answer a call on it."

Chloe Reed simply took out her own phone and showed her call log to Walker Grant. "Obviously, the record was deleted from your phone. I still have it on mine!"

Walker Grant’s brow immediately knitted together, a chill emanating from him. His gaze toward Sunny Reed was now tinged with impatience.

"Walker, you have to believe me, I really didn’t answer your call." Sunny Reed shook her head frantically. "If you don’t believe me, you can check the security footage."

Walker Grant put his phone away. His narrow, phoenix-like eyes rested on Sunny Reed for a long moment before he finally turned back to Chloe Reed. "The auction is already over," he said.

Chloe Reed stared at him in disbelief. "What do you mean by that?!"

Walker Grant took a step forward, coming to stand before her. "There are other lots that weren’t sold. What do you want?"

’Is he trying to compensate me?!’

’He doesn’t plan on giving me the earrings?!’

’Even after I explained everything, he still chose Sunny Reed!’

Chloe Reed’s hands clenched into tight fists, her body trembling faintly.

"You bastard!"

She raised her hand and swung at his face.

But this time, her hand didn’t connect with his face.

Sunny Reed had suddenly rushed forward, and the slap landed on her face instead.
