Chapter 988: What’s an Asura Compared to That?
Jason didn’t speak, but his expression clearly conveyed the same sentiment.
Frederick saw his children’s reactions and felt satisfied.
If they were truly gloating, with no regard for Hazel’s feelings, he’d have to knock some sense into these two.
"Your mom has agreed," Frederick said, "It’s time she ventured out on her own."
"That’s great!" Mia was so excited she nearly jumped up on the spot, "Mom finally saw reason. Hayley deserved a lesson ages ago."
All these years, if it weren’t for their mom, they wouldn’t have tolerated Hayley any longer.
She and her brother had climbed up bit by bit from the training camp, and there were plenty of methods to deal with troublesome people in training.
However, Hayley’s different status had made them cautious because of their mom, allowing her to roam freely all these years.
"You’re all grown up and still not mature," Frederick grumbled with displeasure.
"Dad, you and my brother are already ’mature,’ if I’m not a bit lively, mom would be so bored," Mia acted like a little girl only in front of her family.
"Alright, go keep your mom company," Frederick waved at Mia. He wasn’t one for sweet talk, but with a daughter like this, Hazel finally had someone to converse with.
Mia went to find Hazel, but Jason remained still.
Frederick glanced at him and asked, "Anything else?"
"Dad, did you do this tender for Hayley’s sake, to make her wise up?" Jason asked bluntly.
"That’s one aspect," Frederick replied.
Jason seemed to have anticipated it: "So it’s still because of Asura."
"Asura?" Upon hearing this nickname, Frederick thought for a moment, a faint smile appeared in his eyes, subtle but full of appreciation, "You’re talking about that kid Charles Seymour?"
"Yes," Jason nodded. Back then, Charles’s skills earned him widespread acclaim in the training camp, and many wanted to meet the legendary Asura.
If his father favored Sophie’s company for Charles’s sake, it was understandable.
"No," Frederick directly denied Jason’s assumption, "We recommended Sophie because she deserves it."
Jason was puzzled by his father’s words, wondering about Sophie’s true identity, which led his dad to take such action?
Before, during the training camp tenders, he’d never seen his dad recommend anyone.
Seeing Jason still inquisitive, Frederick said, "Rare to encounter someone unafraid of authority, shouldn’t I recommend her?"
Those companies that got wind of things made such bids that Jason couldn’t even bear to look at them, and from this perspective, it seemed reasonable for his dad to act this way.
Yet, for some reason, Jason’s instincts told him things were definitely not this simple.
"Anything else?" Frederick asked.
"Nothing," Jason said, turned, and left.
Once the door closed, Frederick slowly sat down; who would’ve thought that a girl like Sophie, back in the day...
Remembering past events, Frederick’s face showed a nostalgic yet awe-stricken and bittersweet smile.
What was Asura?
Compared to Sophie... Frederick chuckled, but later Charles also transformed, and now these two kids he valued were still together, truly a fate destined by heaven.
