Chapter 58: The Luosha Arrives Uninvited

~7 min read 1,378 words

"Chairman Lu, please."

Wei Er stood at the entrance of the Guibingshi, looking at Lu Chen as he walked over with a beaming smile.

He reached out and shook hands with Lu Chen lightly.

"Director Wei Er, please."

Lu Chen nodded slightly, a faint smile on his face.

He reached out his hand as well.

The atmosphere between the two men suddenly became enthusiastic.

It was not until they entered the Guibingshi, Lu Chen finished preheating his Cigar, took a sip of champagne, and exhaled a puff of smoke after taking a drag of the Cigar, that Wei Er began to speak.

Wei Er then opened his mouth to speak.

"Chairman Lu, the reason I invited you here this time is actually to have you participate in the securitization plan."

"Director Wei Er, I think I have already made myself very clear in the previous few negotiations."

Lu Chen leaned back against the backrest, took a drag of his Cigar, and slowly exhaled the smoke.

He frowned, his sharp gaze piercing through the smoke as he looked at Wei Er.

"Moreover, the Rainbow or its derivative crushed diamonds are no longer available; even if you wanted me to supply them, it would be impossible."

"Chairman Lu, of course I know these circumstances, after all, we haven't found any diamonds similar to the Rainbow anywhere else, but..."

The smile on Wei Er's face did not diminish; he leaned back into the sofa, took two slow drags of his Cigar, and only after exhaling the smoke did he speak.

"What we need is not the Rainbow or its derivative diamonds, but for you to come out and personally endorse it; that is very simple, isn't it?"

"Director Wei Er, I think you have misunderstood one thing, haven't you?"

Lu Chen smoked his Cigar in silence for a while, frowning.

The entire Guibingshi was like a fairyland on earth, with the scent of Cigars and faint smoke permeating the air.

After a long time, Lu Chen finally spoke.

"What I have signed with your bank has always been a sales contract; even the investment in Crown was just a sale, and there were no additional conditions attached."

"No, no, no, Chairman Lu, this is a conversation being held with you based on your status as a shareholder of Crown."

The smile on Wei Er's face remained, and a flash of sharp light flickered in his eyes.

He picked up his champagne and took a light sip.

He took a drag of his Cigar, adding a wisp of ethereal mist to the Guibingshi.

"Uh..."

Lu Chen laughed, a trace of disdain flashing in his eyes.

He relaxed his entire body.

He stood up, took a bottle of whiskey from the liquor cabinet nearby, walked to the door, and opened it gently.

"Please bring me an ice bucket, and some whiskey glasses."

He then closed the door of the Guibingshi and sat back down on the sofa.

"Director Wei Er, care for a glass?"

"Sure."

Wei Er took a deep look at Lu Chen but did not make any move, simply smoking his Cigar in silence.

It was not until the waiter poured the whiskey into the glasses, exited the Guibingshi, and closed the door again that he continued to speak.

He then continued to speak.

"That you possess shares in Crown is beyond doubt."

"Then, Director Wei Er, please prove that I am a shareholder of Crown."

Lu Chen smiled and raised his glass, making a gesture of a toast toward Wei Er from across the room, and took a light sip.

He took a drag of his Cigar and slowly exhaled the smoke.

"Chairman Lu, these rules don't need to be brought out into the open, and I truly have no way to prove that the shares belong to you."

After the smile on Wei Er's face disappeared for a second, he continued to speak.

"I heard that Director Laimu's office was burglarized recently, and I don't know if there were any documents regarding you among them."

"Director Wei Er, may I take it that you are threatening me?"

Lu Chen's expression did not change, but a hint of gravity flashed in his eyes.

His fingers tightened their grip on the Cigar.

His tone carried a hint of flippancy.

He slowly lowered his crossed legs, picked up his glass with his other hand, and took a sip.

He stared fixedly at Wei Er.

"If that is the case, then..."

Wei Er took a deep look at Lu Chen, lowered his crossed legs, picked up his whiskey, and took a sip.

He returned to smoking his Cigar in silence.

"Bang, bang, bang..."

A knock on the door sounded, breaking the dead silence between the two.

Just as the two had not yet moved, a red figure pushed the door open and walked in.

"Yo, how is it you two again? Boring."

The waiter closed the door again.

Luosha walked with an elegant gait that did not stop.

She sat directly on the sofa between the two men.

She crossed her legs, frowned, and took out a lady's cigarette to light it.

Only after taking a puff did she speak.

"You two are about to be marinated in the smell of Cigar."

Luosha waved away the smoke symbolically before speaking.

"Come, come, tell me, what little secrets do you two have?"

"Miss Luosha, isn't that a bit inappropriate?"

Lu Chen glanced at Wei Er, used tongs to put a few ice cubes into a new glass, poured a glass of whiskey, and pushed it in front of Luosha.

He sat back down on the sofa, raised his glass toward Luosha in a gesture of a toast, and took a light sip.

He leaned back against the sofa cushion and crossed his legs again.

He took a light puff of his Cigar and slowly exhaled the smoke.

His gaze shifted from Luosha back to Wei Er.

Luosha glanced at Lu Chen, a beautiful smile appearing on her face.

She picked up her glass and took a light sip.

Wei Er's expression was calm; he slowly took a puff of his Cigar and exhaled the smoke.

He picked up his glass and also took a sip.

Only then did he speak: "Chairman Lu, Director Luo, the process of Crown securitization cannot be stopped."

"Director Wei, there is one thing you should have always been clear about: I will not participate in the process of Crown, nor will I block any of your decisions, but I have the right not to participate."

Lu Chen looked at Luosha with a smile before speaking.

"So what exactly are you two talking about?"

A hint of confusion appeared on Luosha's beautiful face at the right moment.

After elegantly taking a puff of her cigarette, she picked up her glass and took a sip.

She leaned back, swung her crossed legs, and her gaze drifted between Lu Chen and Wei Er, finally stopping on Wei Er.

"Miss Luosha, this matter has to start with Rainbow; well, you were involved in it too."

Wei Er glanced at Lu Chen, then turned slightly to look at Luosha.

"Old Hou has already completed the transaction."

"Hmm? What did Old Hou do?"

Luosha still wore a look of confusion, her eyes rolling slightly upward as if she were recalling something.

Lu Chen watched Luosha's performance from the side and almost couldn't help but laugh out loud.

It wasn't until he saw Luosha wink at him.

That a cold sweat broke out on his back.

"Alright, I remember now, that Rainbow? Director Wei, why don't you send it to my Zhuangyuan? I quite like it; I'll find a craftsman to make a ring for me."

Luosha paused, glanced at Wei Er, and ignored his liver-colored complexion.

Instead, she spoke softly again.

"It just so happens that I heard Chairman Lu is here, and I have something to discuss with him. If you have nothing else, please clear out; he and I have some business to talk about."

As soon as Luosha's words were out, both Lu Chen and Wei Er were stunned.

Wei Er scanned back and forth between Lu Chen and Luosha in disbelief.

He stood up and walked straight out of the Guibingshi.
