Chapter 407

~8 min read 1,520 words

"How's that! Now do you still think you have the right to talk to me? Hmph, you're just a waste!" Wang Dashe boasted loudly.

Chuixue rushed over to support Banggu, who spat out a mouthful of blood; though still conscious, only he knew how dire it was.

His five viscera and six bowels had been shattered by the previous light wave—another second slower and they'd have ruptured inside his belly.

Longjuan, of course, wouldn't miss this chance, and stepped out directly. Her injuries were fully healed, perfect for loosening up her muscles and bones.

"Last time I was careless; this time, let you all truly experience what an S-rank hero can do." With that, Longjuan surged forward at high speed.

Wang Dashe barely dodged Longjuan's attacks in surprise, but soon stopped retreating and launched his own assault against her.

This time, Longjuan had learned her lesson—she no longer rushed recklessly, but calmly blocked every one of his strikes.

Soon, Wang Dashe clearly fell into a disadvantage. Longjuan immediately grew cocky.

"Aren't you supposed to be strong? How come you're done already?" Longjuan taunted freely.

Luo En, watching Longjuan start her usual arrogance, couldn't help warning: "Be careful—you're already showing off over this? Don't forget what happened last time."

Luo En's blunt words didn't stop Longjuan—instead, they made her even fiercer. One punch and a flying kick sent Wang Dashe crashing to the ground.

Longjuan leaped over and stomped on his chest. Wang Dashe had no strength left at all.

Longjuan poured her will and power into Wang Dashe.

But soon, she realized she couldn't stop—her power kept flowing uncontrollably into him.

Longjuan panicked—she had lost control. To prevent Wang Dashe from draining her power further, she severed the connection.

Luo En noticed the anomaly, but he couldn't cut it—he'd only hurt Longjuan if he intervened.

In the end, Longjuan gritted her teeth and retracted her power.

Wang Dashe stood up and laughed loudly: "Hahahaha! You think you can touch me? You're still too green!"

Longjuan, unconvinced, charged again. Since he could absorb power, she'd fight him barehanded.

Soon, they clashed again. Longjuan's eyes turned red—she focused solely on beating Wang Dashe, unaware he was secretly cultivating, preparing to end her.

At this critical moment, Luo En could wait no longer. He intercepted Wang Dashe's move with one palm.

"Ambushing isn't a good habit. Seems the Monster Alliance still loves this trick."

Luo En stood before Wang Dashe. Longjuan tried to advance again, but he blocked her.

Luo En whispered: "Let me handle this. Today's Wang Dashe isn't like usual—I fear he's up to something. You'd be at a disadvantage."

Longjuan finally heard something she liked: she hadn't lost because she was weak, but because Wang Dashe cheated.

With that justification, she happily yielded the field to Luo En and stopped trying to steal the spotlight.

Luo En's eyes held the expression of: I didn't want to bother with you, yet you insist on throwing yourselves at me.

Wang Dashe flicked his wrist—his hand sprouted numerous snake heads, each surging toward Luo En.

Luo En brought his palms together; they became like sharp blades—he severed each snake head with one swipe per hand.

But those snake heads were like bottomless pits—no matter how many Luo En cut, more kept appearing.

Wang Dashe intended to exhaust Luo En's stamina this way.

59, Parasite

Luo En kept slashing the snake heads nonstop—but soon, he truly felt the strain.

He suddenly realized: the snake heads he cut never fell to the ground—they simply vanished. That meant they likely weren't real.

These were merely Wang Dashe's illusions. The snakes could injure, but they didn't truly exist.

Luo En carefully observed the heads for any peculiarities.

Soon, he spotted one snake head that didn't move—it stood still, controlling all the others like a core.

Now Luo En understood the trick: those snake heads were all illusions—otherwise, why did they keep regenerating?

That unmoving head was the key—cut it, and the whole illusion would end.

Having decided, Luo En cautiously approached Wang Dashe, slashing at the snake heads around him.

Wang Dashe showed no awareness Luo En had figured it out—he still looked smug.

Taking advantage of Wang Dashe's distraction, Luo En swiftly slashed and severed that central snake head.

Wang Dashe shuddered violently, stumbling back several steps, clutching his right shoulder.

The right shoulder was where that snake head had been. Once severed, all the other snake heads vanished.

Wang Dashe was furious—his technique had been exposed, and his beloved snakes had been slain.

He glared at Luo En: "You—you hurt my precious snakes!" He went berserk, attacking wildly.

This worked to Luo En's advantage—Wang Dashe's attacks became chaotic, devoid of pattern, making him far easier to handle.

Wang Dashe was losing control! He no longer attacked only Luo En—he lashed out at bystanders too.

Several people were flung away by his strikes—this was exactly the kind of provocation that would enrage Luo En.

Luo En would tolerate being targeted himself—but harming these others? He'd have to ask Luo En first.

Luo En threw a punch. Cracks surged toward Wang Dashe, who dodged frantically.

In dodging, he stumbled right into Luo En's range—Luo En struck without mercy, hammering his chest.

Luo En used full force—Wang Dashe flew backward.

He crashed to the ground, face twisted in agony, spitting crimson foam.

To end him, Luo En delivered another punch. Wang Dashe collapsed.

Chuixue cried: "Is he dead?"

Yes. Luo En had finished off the Monster Alliance's leader.

Longjuan was stunned—Wang Dashe had been dispatched so easily.

"Luo… Luo En… was that really just one punch? You killed him with one hit?" Longjuan stammered in shock.

As everyone laughed and joked, Wang Dashe's fingers twitched—but no one noticed the tiny movement.

Chui Xue rushed over and patted Luo En on the shoulder, exclaiming with exaggerated admiration: "Oh my, no wonder you're my Luo En! So powerful—just one punch took out that bad guy! Absolutely amazing!"

Suddenly, Luo En yanked Chui Xue aside, dodging a punch from behind. Chui Xue's eyes widened, completely unaware of what had just happened.

Soon, Luo En flung her away and shouted: "Everyone, get back!"

At once, everyone scattered, afraid to stay where they were.

At this moment, Wang Dashe looked as if he had been fully restored—showing not a trace of his earlier injuries.

"Who are you? Why are you inside Wang Dashe's body?" Luo En asked.

Wang Dashe smiled, refusing to answer. All he wanted now was to defeat Luo En.

Luo En, still getting no answer, frantically dodged—because the strange man before him kept attacking, his speed so great that Luo En could barely counter, leaving dodging his only option.

Soon, Wang Dashe grew impatient. He brought his hands together. "Flowing Rock Shattering Fist."

This technique immediately revealed that the man before them was no longer Wang Dashe—but the Wolf that had been devoured that day.

"Hmph, didn't expect me to still be alive, did you? And I found such a perfect host," the Wolf said.

Bang Gu, seeing this, grew wildly excited and tried to step forward, but Chui Xue held him back.

Luo En had suspected something, but hadn't expected this—so he showed no surprise.

"Only the weak cling to others' bodies. I don't know why you take pride in this, but I look down on you!"

To Luo En, this act was merely the desperate survival of someone with nowhere else to go—he paid it no mind.

The Wolf, hearing this, felt it was indeed the act of the weak—and instantly grew furious, for he would never admit he was weak.

The Wolf clenched his fists; his fingertips instantly sharpened into razor points. He launched a furious barrage at Luo En.

These fingertips clearly carried poison, so Luo En remained cautious.

Long Juan, seeing the two fight with sluggish intensity, grew anxious. She leapt and landed before the Wolf.

"You piece of trash—today you die right here!" Long Juan said.

Then she began manipulating her mental force, preventing the Wolf from launching any further attacks.

Seeing the Wolf frozen, Luo En moved to strike with a punch—but at that moment, the Wolf violently broke free of Long Juan's mental grip.

The Wolf performed a backflip and landed on the rooftop, shouting: "You think you can control me with mental force? Impossible! I have my own power—and Wang Dashe's too. I am me, yet not me!"

"All of you are here to die," the Wolf said, growing more agitated. He swept his hand toward the surrounding buildings and people.

Everyone was thrown into chaos, scattering in all directions.

Bang Gu stepped forward as well, joining the fight. Together, they surrounded the Wolf.

Bang Gu said: "The Wolf refuses to reform—he is unworthy of being human. Today, we end him here together."

These words, spoken by Bang Gu, struck the Wolf with shocking force.

The Wolf stood at the center, his eyes locked on Bang Gu. Then his eyes turned red and began to glow.

Luo En shouted: "No good—the Wolf is awakening! Quickly, suppress him! Don't let him awaken!"
