Chapter 244: Doctor Bu Lun Na's Guess
A dazzling silver shockwave shot out from behind the car like a raging tide.
Where the silver shockwave passed, the air seemed twisted, rippling in layers. When it struck the car parked by the road, a massive impact burst forth instantly.
The car's body first shuddered violently, as if seized by an invisible giant hand. Then, under that irresistible force, the car was easily tossed into the air like a toy.
The car rolled in the air, tracing an irregular arc, sunlight bathing its body and reflecting a blinding glare. Finally, it crashed heavily in the distance, emitting a muffled boom and kicking up a cloud of dust.
The silver shockwave kept racing forward, leaving devastation in its wake, showcasing its tremendous and shocking power.
Mike and the others, seeing the terrifying scene, froze their pedaling, and Subject 11's eyes filled with despair.
The force was so terrifying and mighty, she didn't know if she could withstand it.
Just as she strained to summon her powers, a torrent of nosebleed gushed from her nostrils, the silver surge suddenly accelerated, sweeping past them.
Mike and the others, frightened, shut their eyes; after a few seconds they opened them to find themselves completely unharmed.
Subject 11 was also stunned; she hadn't even had time to use her power.
The children looked back and saw bricks shattered and the asphalt road cracked wherever the silver shockwave passed; the cars they were chasing were all flung away by the force.
"You're really hard to find, Subject 11,"
A whisper like smoke rose, and they looked into the distance, spotting a silver‑haired man standing before them, his hand still shimmering with lingering silver light.
"Ah, a Psychic Sorcerer! Oh my, he's come to save us!" Dustin exclaimed excitedly.
Subject 11 froze for a moment upon seeing Naimi Xisi, thinking, "Is this Subject 17? Is he still alive?"
Subject 11 had thought she was the last survivor of the lab; that day she gave her all, carving a bloody path with her powers until she escaped, yet she saw no living soul.
She had believed she was the only freak in the world.
"What are you standing around for? You kids, come over quickly!"
Qiao Yisi stepped out of the van behind Naimi Xisi, waving her arms loudly at Subject 11 and the others; she was the quickest to regain her senses in the vehicle.
The rest were still dazed, unable to recover from Naimi Xisi's terrifying and shocking power.
"Oh my. How did he do that? What is this? Is he a Sorcerer? No, aren't Sorcerers the ones with tarot cards and sage pretending to be mystical?" Jonathan said blankly.
Nearby, Nancy covered her mouth, her body trembling with excitement; fundamentally she was a bookworm, and everything she saw instantly reminded her of stories about superpowers and cyborgs.
Mike and the others heard Qiao Yisi's shout and immediately abandoned their bicycles to run over; she was Wei Er's mother, and they trusted her absolutely!
Subject 11 approached Naimi Xisi cautiously, feeling that the Subject 17 before her was both familiar and strange.
In her memory, Subject 17 was a silent, often‑dazed big brother. Yet the man before her shared no resemblance beyond his appearance.
She was skeptical of the Subject 17 before her, wondering if he was another trick by the lab to recapture her.
The girl's thoughts were plain on her face; Naimi Xisi read them, his complexion darkening. He had forgotten that in Subject 11's current memory, she only recalled herself in a dazed state for that month.
Thinking of his dark past having a living witness, Juan Ce Long felt his anger surge to his core.
He inhaled deeply and said calmly, "Get in the car."
The group boarded the car and sped away, while the FBI arrived later in a helicopter.
Doctor Bu Lun Na crouched on the ground, his gaze dark as he stared at the wrecked car and shattered road. An assistant approached, shocked, and asked, "Doctor, did Subject 11 do all this?"
Bu Lun Na shook his head, stood, and looked into the distance: "No, Subject 11's powers haven't reached that scale yet."
At least since the accident a few months ago, Subject 11's powers have been ineffective.
Subjects 15 and 16 are dead; Subject 11 can't do it, so only one candidate could have caused this.
Subject 17.
That mysterious man.
After the lab disaster that day, Bu Lun Na reviewed the footage; when he saw Subject 17 clearly regaining his senses, he immediately elevated his importance to the same level as Subject 11.
He was determined to find out how the other had entered the lab.
The powers extracted from the original body included telekinesis, mind control, long‑range psychic projection, hypnosis, and so on. But teleportation had never appeared.
Moreover,
Bu Lun Na recalled that in the footage, before leaving, Subject 17 had tried to find something in the storage room.
He didn't know what, but he had a rough guess.
Fortunately, before leaving he took that mysterious cloth bag to the Texas headquarters; it seems he still needs to study it thoroughly—
In the car, Jim drove while the others chattered, pulling out the information each had gathered, trying to piece the puzzle into a map.
"So that monster once appeared where Barbara vanished? That means Wei Er could have disappeared the same way!" Dustin said, eyes lighting up.
!
Mike interjected, "They must be in the Reverse World! Whether it's Wei Er or Barbara!"
Qiao Yisi asked, "Reverse World? Ah, you mean Ying Ying Ming Jie?"
Mike and the others were shocked; Ying Ying Ming Jie? That's a term from Dungeons & Dragons—how did Qiao Yisi know that?
"No, no, no, Subject 11 said it's the Reverse World," Mike denied, saying he trusted Subject 11 more.
Then his eyes lit up as he looked at Naimi Xisi, believing that if anyone knew more, it had to be the mysterious Psychic Sorcerer before them!
"Is it really Ying Ying Ming Jie? Does Ying Ying Ming Jie actually exist? Big brother, do you know?" Mike asked, excited.
Naimi Xisi nodded lightly, indicating that this world's board games also contain information about Ying Ying Ming Jie.
"Whether it's the Reverse World or Ying Ying Ming Jie, they're just aliases. It's just that that world indeed shares many similarities with the Ying Ying Ming Jie you know," Naimi Xisi said calmly.
Qiao Yisi and the others looked puzzled, and Mike immediately began to explain.
When they learned that this so‑called Ying Ying Ming Jie actually existed in the kids' everyday games, everyone was stunned.
"Could this be a paranormal event? Something from comics and games crossing into reality?" Jonathan said, incredulous.
Naimi Xisi scoffed, "This world is already part of the Magic Net Multiverse; how could game elements become reality?"
Perhaps some entities deliberately spread Multiverse information here.
But what is their purpose?
Especially, why are there so many Earths?
This Earth, the dark Earth in Ying Ying Ming Jie, and the Earth of the previous life. Between them. will there be any connection?
