Chapter 1011: Artillery is Truth

~9 min read 1,646 words

He Yuzhu stared at the mercenary who was still screaming frantically, his wrist lifting slightly.

"Bang!"

A single shot blew the opponent's head apart, blood and brains splattering in all directions.

He Yuzhu knew clearly in his heart that the pawn Lukasi had been used just about enough.

He turned the muzzle and pulled the trigger directly at the remaining First Team of mercenaries.

Dense bullets whistled out, like a violent storm.

Those mercenaries were afraid of hitting their own, because Lukasi was still draped over He Yuzhu's shoulder like a dead dog, and no one dared to shoot at him, which gave He Yuzhu time.

He Yuzhu fired while charging toward them at full speed.

Very quickly, he rushed within twenty meters.

With a thought from He Yuzhu, the space opened instantly.

All the mercenaries within a twenty-meter radius were collected into the space by him.

Some of those mercenaries had already put their fingers on the triggers, preparing to fire.

But just at that moment, those people vanished without a trace.

Not far away, beside the helicopter, several crew members were bending over to inspect the onboard equipment.

The suddenly erupting dense gunfire made them jerk their heads up to look in the direction of the firefight.

He Yuzhu did not hesitate in the slightest, raising his gun to fire.

Bang, bang, bang... With a few crisp gunshots, the five crew members fell to the ground one after another, moving no more.

The moment the gunfire ceased, a trace of regret suddenly flashed through He Yuzhu's heart.

Dean was very ill and might be waiting for the helicopter to transfer; having killed the pilot, how would the aircraft be flown?

No matter how capable he was, he was unwilling to fly this kind of helicopter that was especially prone to crashing.

Once an operational error caused the aircraft to lose control, he could rely on the space to escape, but the others on the aircraft would have no way to survive.

He stood where he was, his brain spinning rapidly, unable to think of a perfect solution for a moment.

Just then, from the road in the distance came the "da-da-da-da-da-da" sound of dense machine gun fire, the sound sharp and grating.

He Yuzhu's first reaction was that the mercenaries' outer perimeter security force had returned to reinforce.

He dared not delay, leaping into a nearby Tank, starting the engine, and roaring toward the main gate at full speed.

On the dirt road in the distance, two Jeeps were racing at full speed with all their might, with a Tank closely pursuing them from behind; the Machine Gun on the Tank kept spitting tongues of fire, and bullets clattered against the Jeeps, sparks flying everywhere.

Because the distance was relatively far, the two Jeeps had not yet been completely destroyed, but it was clear they could not hold on for long.

He Yuzhu raised his Telescope to look carefully; the drivers of the two Jeeps were all Chinese faces.

The enemy of an enemy is a friend.

He Yuzhu hooked his lips into a cold sneer, his hands and feet nimbly turning the crank to adjust the Tank's muzzle, the cannon barrel steadily locking onto the pursuing Tank, and he decisively pressed the fire button.

"Boom——!!"

With a deafening roar, the enemy Tank's turret was blown straight into mid-air, rolling fireballs rose into the sky, the ammunition inside followed with a secondary explosion, and scorching steel fragments splattered in all directions.

The people in the two Jeeps ahead had already fallen into despair, thinking they were destined to die here today.

But turning their heads to look, this Tank that had rushed out from the main gate not only blocked the crisis for them but also blew up the Tank with one shot.

In the lead Jeep, a young man leaned half his body out of the window, shouting at the top of his lungs: "We are Huaxia people! We came specifically to rescue Dean and Doctor!"

He Yuzhu flipped open the Tank hatch, leaned out, and waved his hand: "What a coincidence, I'm here to save people too. It's just that Dean's injuries are very serious and require a helicopter transfer to evacuate; is there anyone among you who can fly a helicopter?"

From the two off-road vehicles, eight sturdy young men immediately jumped down.

Among them, one person was not particularly tall, his whole body taut with solid muscles, and he rushed to the front of the Tank in two or three steps: "I can fly a helicopter, I just don't know what model this is."

He Yuzhu spoke: "It should be an old-fashioned helicopter produced by the Soviet Union."

The young man's eyes lit up, and he immediately responded loudly: "Then I can fly it!"

He Yuzhu nodded and then instructed in a deep voice: "Can you help me hold this gate firmly? I need to go inside the hospital to check the situation."

Inside the operating room, Doctor was lowering her head, concentrating fully on suturing the wound for Dean. The bullet had been successfully removed, and now only the final few layers of skin and flesh needed to be sutured to finish.

He Yuzhu leaned against the wall outside the operating room door, his gaze occasionally glancing at the tightly closed door. Beside him, several black nurses were full of anxiety, chattering in the local language, constantly shaking their heads and shrugging their shoulders; no one could explain how the surgery inside was progressing.

He Yuzhu did not go up to urge them, just waiting quietly and patiently.

More than ten minutes later, the wooden door of the operating room finally creaked and was pushed open from the inside.

Doctor looked exhausted, half her body leaning out of the door, her forehead covered in a layer of fine cold sweat.

Raising her eyes to see He Yuzhu, she managed a forced smile: "Sir, thank you so much for today; I still don't know how to address you?"

He Yuzhu casually spat out two words: "Zhou Cang."

Doctor nodded slightly: "Listening to your accent, you should be someone from Si Jiu Cheng."

He Yuzhu was noncommittal, nodding slightly.

Doctor leaned in a few steps, lowering her voice to his ear: "You are actually surnamed He, right? I have seen you in reference photos before."

He Yuzhu smiled faintly, neither admitting nor denying it. The current situation was urgent, and there was no time to dwell on identity issues.

Doctor did not continue to press, her expression full of worry: "Dean's injuries are too severe; if we travel by car on bumpy roads, his body will likely not be able to hold up. My idea is to first place him in the home of a staff member of this hospital to recuperate temporarily, and wait until his condition is stable before finding a way to return to the country."

He Yuzhu pondered for a moment and proposed another plan: "There is another option: let Dean take the helicopter directly to the pier and board a Warship. Do you think this plan is reliable?"

Doctor hurriedly asked: "How long would an aerial round trip take?"

"Flying in a straight line through the air, twenty minutes at most."

Doctor, whose eyes had been tired, instantly lit up: "That works! To be honest, I am also very worried that leaving Dean here will easily lead to retaliation and liquidation by the enemy. It's just... can you fly a helicopter?"

He Yuzhu shook his head slightly: "Coincidentally, eight fellow countrymen came to meet us outside just now, and among them, there happens to be someone who can operate a helicopter."

"Good!" Doctor took a deep breath and finally made a decision.

He Yuzhu cut straight to the point: "Give me an accurate number; how many people in total need to evacuate with you?"

Doctor Liu barely thought about it and blurted out, "Thirty-seven people."

He Yuzhu nodded, "I will go find a larger vehicle; you follow the helicopter and evacuate first."

Doctor Liu waved his hand, "It is enough to arrange for two doctors to accompany Dean Zhong on the helicopter; I will stay behind and evacuate by vehicle with the main group."

He Yuzhu frowned tightly, "Why? If any unexpected situation occurs during the helicopter flight, the risk is too great without you, the lead surgeon, watching over them."

Doctor Liu smiled wearily, "Mr. Zhou, don't forget this is a hospital. I am not the only one here with superb surgical skills; my teacher is even staying behind here."

He Yuzhu was silent for two seconds, then finally nodded in agreement, "Fine, then we will do it according to your arrangement."

One hour later, He Yuzhu made an excuse to go out and look for a vehicle, then with a thought, he released a luxury bus from the System Space.

The bus body was gleaming and bright, the seats inside were wide and soft, and the onboard air conditioning blew out gusts of cold air, completely out of place with the smoke-filled, war-torn environment outside.

The medical staff carried their medical equipment cases and medicine parcels as they boarded the bus one after another. As soon as their backsides touched the comfortable leather seats, everyone's tightly wound nerves instantly relaxed; some let out long sighs, their eyes reddening, having not experienced such stability and comfort for a long time.

He Yuzhu climbed onto the Tank and shouted toward the direction of the bus, "Sit tight, everyone, I'm going to clear the way for you!"

Doctor Liu sat in the front row of the bus, watching the back of He Yuzhu as he nimbly climbed into the Tank, and a smile could not help but appear at the corner of his mouth as he whispered to himself, "Fang Deng's father-in-law really has a sturdy physique."
