Chapter 20: God-Smashing Stone (Seek Follow-Reads! Seek Collection!)

~6 min read 1,129 words

【Ding! Rescued plot character Matt, altered his future fate; all members receive one C-rank subplot, 2500 reward points.】

【Ding! Accelerated Biohazard 2 plot, unlocked hidden bio-weapon “Tyrant”; all members receive two C-rank subplots, 4000 reward points.】

……

The Main God’s settlement voice rang out: besides the heads of Tyrants, zombies, and other bio-monsters, each member of this return to the Biohazard world received an average of 6500 reward points and three C-rank subplots.

Undoubtedly, for all other members of the Central Plains Team except Wu Xian, this was a massive sum.

Even for Wu Xian himself, it was a considerable gain.

After all, he had Quancheng used a hidden cheat (Form Gathering and Qi Dispersal); apart from finally harvesting the heads of two Tyrants, he had barely participated in any team actions, so these reward points and subplots were pure windfall—massive profit with zero loss.

Beyond these obvious gains, this mission brought two unexpected surprises.

“Not bad, not bad. A few more like this, and the day I can just lie back and collect rewards won’t be far off…”

Muttering to himself, Wu Xian’s gaze fell on the two remaining pillars of light, their surfaces now faintly green—clearly repairing genetic damage within those enclosed.

Zheng Zha’s case was unsurprising: as a natural lock-picker, he had broken through to Second Stage after his life-or-death battle with the Tyrant, surpassing even his original timeline counterpart.

At this level, even if he were instantly replicated into the Demon Team, he’d possess sufficient self-preservation ability; in desperate situations, he wouldn’t be helplessly abused by those beasts.

Meanwhile, Zhan Lan, occupying the other faintly green pillar, truly surprised Wu Xian.

In the original novel, Zhan Lan’s awakening of First Stage Gene Lock was never detailed, but it was certainly not before the Curse.

Now, due to being attacked by a Licker in Biohazard, she had suffered severe injuries—and yet, she had taken a small step forward.

Though she had not fully unlocked the First Stage Gene Lock, clear signs had emerged; perhaps with just a little more “minor” stimulation, she could shatter that barrier, likely with minimal side effects.

Moreover, Wu Xian sensed Zhan Lan’s mental fluctuations had become unlike those of ordinary people; the faintly trembling chairs and tables in the Main God Hall confirmed it—she had awakened telekinesis.

Without any Main God enhancement or professional guidance, she had spontaneously awakened telekinesis; her mental talent was likely far higher than the original novel’s assessment.

“If so, perhaps I can have her pursue the Mentalist path; with her potential to unlock Fourth Stage Gene Lock, she might become a core combatant in the future…”

“Hmm, better exchange for a bloodline with high HP and defense—otherwise, if she gets crushed by a flying rock someday, that’d be ridiculous.”

Recalling Zhan Lan’s laughably absurd death in the novel, Wu Xian’s lips twitched.

Fourth Stage—nearly awakening the Light of the Heart—and yet she died from a stray rock…

Honestly, this wasn’t just absurd—it was absurdity giving birth to absurdity, absurdity on steroids!

He seriously suspected the rock that struck her wasn’t ordinary; it might well be the legendary primordial spiritual treasure, the God-Smashing Stone—otherwise, this plot made no sense.

Thud!!

As Wu Xian mentally mocked the trope, Zheng Zha’s restoration completed first; he fell from midair onto the floor in a superhero landing pose.

“Feeling alive is great…”

Standing up, Zheng Zha exhaled deeply, saw Wu Xian looking at him, and offered a grateful smile: “Thanks, Captain. You saved me again.”

Perhaps due to being trained too harshly, Zheng Zha and others developed PTSD-like symptoms, and now habitually called Wu Xian “Captain”—a testament to how deep their trauma ran.

“No need to be so polite; after all, I’m the Central Plains Team’s Captain. You really thought I’d let you die?”

Wu Xian smiled slightly, then pointed upward at the Main God: “Besides, because of you, I made a good profit too. Such excellent teammates—I won’t easily let go.”

Zheng Zha chuckled bitterly but caught Wu Xian’s implication.

They had proven their worth—not useless liabilities—so Wu Xian was willing to lend them a hand.

But conversely, if he found them truly hopeless trash who couldn’t climb a wall, Wu Xian likely wouldn’t have shown up in the Biohazard world at all—he’d have let them die under the Tyrant’s claws.

It was harshly realistic, yet Zheng Zha felt no discomfort; if he were Wu Xian, he’d probably make the same choice.

“Enough overthinking. Four days remain until our next horror movie—go rest well…”

“By the way, the next one is Alien 1. I’ve downloaded the entire film series; feel free to watch it in the living room to understand the plot.”

Wu Xian said this, patted Zheng Zha’s shoulder, paused, then added: “As for creating a person… go ahead. After thinking it over, perhaps for you, reviving your beloved in this form is a kind of spiritual comfort—when danger strikes in future horror movies, it might even trigger a last-minute power-up, like those Rexue anime protagonists.”

“Thank you! Thank you, Captain!”

Hearing this, Zheng Zha’s heart swelled with warmth; though he’d create “Luo Li” regardless of Wu Xian’s opinion, receiving his approval and comfort still brought unexpected emotion.

“What’s there to thank me for? I didn’t help you create her.”

Wu Xian chuckled, then waved at Li Xiaoyi and Mou Gang, who watched him with hopeful eyes:

“Same goes for you two—but don’t get addicted. Lust is a blade that cuts to the bone; I don’t want to enter a horror movie and find my team Quanshi soft-legged weaklings!”

Li Xiaoyi, Mou Gang, and Zheng Zha all chuckled, wearing the universal “men understand” expression—no words needed.

So when Zhan Lan finished her restoration and snapped out of her daze, she saw three men standing with closed eyes beneath the Main God’s light orb.

Especially Li Xiaoyi and Mou Gang—their lower bodies clearly swollen—undoubtedly fantasizing about something lewd.

After Wu Xian explained, Zhan Lan’s face flushed crimson, then she turned to her three recently life-or-death comrades and snarled:

“We barely made it back alive, and you’re still thinking about lewd stuff! Men really are irredeemable perverts!”

After venting, she stomped her foot and turned to storm back to her room.

But the instant she closed the door, a long hand gripped the doorframe.

Then Wu Xian stepped in slowly, shut the door behind him, and smiled warmly at Zhan Lan’s tense, flustered gaze: “Miss, got a moment? I’d like to talk to you about something…”
